Any recommendations where to stay when cruising from Bayonne NJ Port. Thank you

If you want to be close to the port, I recommend one of the Newark Airport hotels.  That means the hotels at the airport, not the hotels in Newark the city.

I loved Embassy Suites in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  They are an airport hotel with free shuttles to and from the airport. They run on the 15/45 of each hour.  Really convenient to catch.  The hotel itself it very nice, modern, and clean.  Free buffet breakfast with a lot of variety to choose from, 24hr hot beverage station.  Better than the free breakfasts at Hampton Inn and Suites.  It's about 20min from the pier at Cape Liberty.  The hotel offers a shuttle and charge a per person fee.  I don't know what it is but many people signed up to use it.  Since we had 4 people, we opted to take Lyft to the pier.  I think it came in around $36 for Lyft Plus.  There are details and pics in the first few pages of my live blog.  I would definitely not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Newark January 1017. We drove, and were able to park our car during our 12 night cruise. There was also a shuttle to thecruise port.

Another vote for an airport hotel.  Most have free shuttles from EWR airport, then it's a $16-$24 Lyft or Uber ride to the port in the morning depending on traffic.
