DBeas0106 Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 I've noted various people on forums/discussions mention that some ships have a keycard lighting system for staterooms. Meaning (I assume) that a card must be inserted into a slot in the room for the lights to be operational. A few questions on that: What ships in the RC fleet use this technology? What kind of card are we talking about? (will an expired SeaPass Card suffice?) Does this also include power to electrical outlets? (or are those always 'on'?) Quote
Rose City Cruiser Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Any credit card sized card will suffice. I used my Air Miles card that I had in my wallet. Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Harmony definitely has them and I think the Q class ships (Anthem in the US) and probably Symphony. I suspect that all new ships will use this technology even though people quickly find a way around it. We just use an old Seapass card. Anything will work that will slide into that slot. Anything credit card sized. Quote
monctonguy Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 never been on a ship yet that uses that...but I haven't sailed the newest mega ships. That being said, many AI resorts I stay at use the system and any plastic card has worked.... Quote
Matt Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Harmony, Symphony (I'm assuming), and all Ovation class ships have this feature. 1 hour ago, DBeas0106 said: What kind of card are we talking about? You're supposed to use your SeaPass card, but literally any card that can fit in there will work. 1 hour ago, DBeas0106 said: Does this also include power to electrical outlets? twangster Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 New cabins added in dry dock have it too For example on Liberty a cabin added during the last dry dock had it. Outlets stay on. Lighting and AC cut off. I used my grocery store saver card. A hotel key card works too. DBeas0106 1 Quote
