Hiii Anyone! After hanging up my live blogging hat years ago during my Cruise Critic era, I’ve been encouraged back into the digital seas by my dear @MamaShark! I don't know how many cruises we've been on, so for an easier, more relevant number, this will be our third holiday cruise, fourth Star Class cruise, and second time on our beloved Symphony of the Seas!  Joining me on this multigenerational journey are my partner, my excitable 9-year-old son, my brothers ( 32 and 33), and our parents, helmed by the undisputed cruise queen, @MamaShark ❤️

We are gleefully trading the icy grips of Detroit on Friday as we head to Miami two days ahead of embarkation! We are setting sail for the NYE sailing from December 29th through January 5th. We have been following all the Facebook posts about itinerary changes and got the MUCH anticipated--and not at all shocking--news earlier this week that we would not be going to Puerto Rico...like no one truly believed we ever were🙃. I am completely unbothered by this news and, resultingly, cannot fully engage in the outrage. I would much prefer to be on a boat in the Caribbean anywhere than in sub-zero Michigan weather.

We are most looking forward to not having to cook, people watching, cocktails, people watching with cocktails, and 8 days of wholehearted unseriousness! I will need to catch up on other live blogs to see what else I should be posting pre-cruise🤔...stay tuned!

@Lovetocruise2002 this time as soon as I realize you guys are on a flight with us, I’ll start thinking multiple random flight delays.  Not even gonna sit on a hot plane 45 minutes waiting for the pilot to the declare we may have mechanical issues before he invites us to get off the plane. I’m just following you 😂😂😂. I’ve never seen anyone get off the jet way and be first lined up at the customer service counter faster than you 🤣! 🌟🌟

It’s funny, but sad that I always have to have Plan A/B/C/D when I fly these days. My dad and I are currently debating what to do with our March flights to MCO (again 😬). He wants to take the cheaper flight at 4pm but I am being stubborn and trying to tell him we have bad luck with DTW-MCO and we need to take the first flight out. The pricing is nuts for March break.

'Twas the day before Cruisemas in the Miami Marriott Biscayne,
And we searched for entertainment to avoid being lame.
We started our morning with a breakfast buffet,
Covered by resort credit—what a fabulous stay!

To South Beach we traveled to soak up the sun,
But a rainstorm rolled in—it was still sort of fun.
We laughed through the showers, the sky dark and gray,
And found adventure regardless, come what may.

Next stop was Fat Tuesday’s, where the drinks were ice cold,
We danced to great music, feeling carefree and bold.
We checked all the boxes, with laughter and cheer,
The fun of Miami was undeniably clear.

For dinner, we stayed in and tried Casablanca,
But alas, it fell short—no encore, no thank ya.
The meal was a miss, though the setting was fine,
We'll chalk it up to experience, and move down the line.

Now we eagerly wait for tomorrow to come,
As we dream of the cruise and its tropical sun.
Bidding Miami adieu will be sweet sorrow,
But adventure awaits on the sea come tomorrow!
