Recipes INSPIRED by ROYAL CARIBBEAN COCKTAILS

Hi all!  I've been making “copycat” recipes from Royal Caribbean's drink menus and I wanted to share them here.

As much as I would love to have the actual recipes Royal bartenders use for these cocktails, I don’t have them at the moment.  So I’ve tried deconstructing and recreating the drinks from several sources - menu information, bar crawl videos, mixology websites and channels, common ingredient ratios, similar cocktail recipes among others - all made possible through Google, YouTube and cruising pages.

I do have many actual Royal recipes which you can find here:

https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/42039-cocktail-recipes-on-royal-caribbean-ships/

Please note that I am not a mixologist or bartender by any stretch of the imagination, just a copycat who enjoys recreating the Royal Caribbean experience at home.  My presentation style is like jotting down the recipe on the menus themselves.

Let's all have fun making (and drinking) these cocktails.

OVERLOOK SPRITZ
The Overlook
Icon of the Seas

01OverlookSpritz.thumb.jpeg.be56cfc4f1c6ec8d518fe6e6598e0e8a.jpeg

NOTE:
This is the signature cocktail at The Overlook found only on Icon of the Seas. They use the standard menu for the other drinks. A guest on Icon got me this recipe but we were not sure about some of the measurements, so I “guess-timated” some of them based on other spritz recipes.

When I first saw this drink, I thought it had Blue Curaçao. It did not.  Instead it had Lagoon Bay liqueur, an aperitif from Iceland.

SNAP, CRACKLE, POP!
Dueling Pianos
Icon of the Seas

NOTE:

This is the signature cocktail at Dueling Pianos found only on Icon of the Seas.

To make a copycat version of this drink, I took inspiration from the Azalea Cocktail, the traditional drink of the Masters. It takes its name from the beautiful azalea bushes that are all over the golf course in Augusta, Georgia and are in full bloom just in time for this tournament.

Recipes I’ve found say gin can be used instead of vodka, lime juice instead of lemon juice, and from 1/2 to 1 oz of simple syrup can be added.

LAVENDER HAZE
Spotlight Karaoke
Icon of the Seas

03LavenderHaze.thumb.jpeg.ad7e5872db4faa21cb9a65ee431ad333.jpeg

NOTE:
This is the signature cocktail at Spotlight Karaoke on Icon of the Seas.

I am not sure if the Spotlight Karaoke on other ships serves this drink.

The inspiration for this recipe comes from Hipstirs, a company that makes craft cocktail syrups. Their recipe for “Bees Knees” matches the ingredients for this cocktail. The lavender syrup they sell is even named “Lavender Haze.”

FUEGO FIESTA
Cantina Fresca
Icon of the Seas

NOTE:
This is the signature cocktail at Cantina Fresca on Icon of the Seas.

It is basically a Spicy Guava Strawberry Margarita. I started with a recipe on a TikTok video for a guava margarita and I added strawberry purée.

B-FLAT NEGRONI
Lou’s Jazz N’ Blues
Icon of the Seas

NOTE:
I could almost call this an official Royal recipe because I saw a reel (video) of a bartender making it at Lou's. But I’ll keep it as a copycat because I only eyeballed the amounts he put in it.

This is called a “White Negroni” but the Suze makes it quite yellow.  I make mine with Cocchi Americano.

JAZZY SAZ
Lou’s Jazz N’ Blues
Icon of the Seas

03JazzySaz.thumb.jpeg.008d3a36c073c8b2f1fcf083c20e336e.jpeg

NOTE:
This cocktail is a Bourbon Sazerac. The “Saz” in the name was a giveaway. The only tweak I made with the recipe I found online was to replace 1 oz of the bourbon with 1 oz of VSOP cognac. I may not be an expert mixologist but I am a very good Googler.

COUNT BASEY CLOVER CLUB
Lou’s Jazz N’ Blues
Icon of the Seas

06CountBaseyCloverClub.thumb.jpeg.5354391514fb4dcac1b0740f3def075c.jpeg

NOTE:
This is basically a Clover Club cocktail.  Most recipes use dry vermouth but Royal’s uses sweet vermouth.

I’m guessing they added “Count Basey” to the name for Lou’s jazz theme.  Count Basey (or is that Basie?) was a famous jazz piano player.

Hopefully it will also be available on Wonder

The PB&J Old Fashioned is still my favorite.  When I'm on the ship without the actual ingredients, I use my copycat version.
