They gave us Haines instead. it will be interesting to see if they cancel Skagway on the May 10 sailing. Sadly excursions at Haines are full price. May 8, 2024 Dear Guest, Due to ongoing port construction, we're unable to make our call to Skagway, Alaska. To make up for this change, we've added two (2) extra hours to our visit in Sitka, an extra five (5) hours to our visit in Juneau, Alaska, plus an extra hour in Victoria, British Columbia! Additionally, we've moved up our visit to Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier to Thursday. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused by these changes. Nevertheless, we're excited to sail away with you! WAYNO Posted May 10 Report Share Posted May 10 My Wife was in Skagway, yesterday, the 9th of May, as the port curtailment had not yet affected Quantum. What she did say, is Skagway was somewhat depressed in its demeanor. For a town that makes its money for only a relatively few months of the year, the possibility of taking a third or more of its tourist business away is hard on those folks. I certainly hope these trials get behind us and Skagway can get back to normal. We have two more cruises on Quantum this summer.
