With today’s occupancy rates, you are banking on a no-show at embarkation to even have a remote shot at an upgrade. I just stepped off a sailing that was nearly 120% to capacity. I have been notified at the pier of a RU win in the past. As others have said, the bidding process is basically an exercise of the hands because you are pretty much wasting your time these days. Then they could play all kinds of games of upgrading passengers for more money than people would be willing to be downgraded-- all after final payment. Newhouse of the Seas Posted January 5 Report Share Posted January 5 We tried Royal Up for the first time during 2023 & had "beginner's luck." We took 2 cruises last year & had successful bids for both. For our sailings on Ovation and Anthem, they contacted us 4 days and +/- 30 days, respectively, before our sail dates to inform us of our successful bids. Good luck with your bid.
