mrsgalloway1220
Hey all! My husband and I will be leaving on a cruise tomorrow out of Tampa, and this is the first time we’ll be dealing with time differences while in port. We’ll be in Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, and Costa Maya, and, from what I’ve seen, both Belize and Roatan are an hour behind Tampa. If I have my phone toggled on to switch time zones automatically, is that a good idea? Or should I bring a watch to keep on ship time? Also, if I set an alarm on my phone for 7am, does that mean it would be 6 port time? Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!
steverk
Please do not allow your phone to automatically adjust time zones! Set it manually instead. That should be enough to keep you on ship time, but I always wear a cheap Timex watch too. You can't be too careful and you don't want to be left behind. tjcruisers and WAYNO 1
FionaMG
Agree with @steverk. Absolutely bring a watch. Use the phone in your room for wake-up alarms. WAYNO
tjcruisers
We just always flip our phone to manual as we walk on the ship the first day WesKinetic
Traveling Mike
I always turn on airplane mode as soon as I get on the ship. I then switch off the auto time zone and make sure the time matches what is on the RCL App for ship time. Each port I double check my set time with the app ship time. Warning: The ship time can be different than the local time. Alway make sure you know ship time. Villageidiot and wstephensi
