TammyDurkee
We're looking for good Mexican Restaurants in Cozumel. Recommendations? We wouldn't mind it being more Tex-Mex, but would be open to Authentic Mexican as well. Thank you in advance! Mark & Tammy K

Matt
My favorite place for authentic Mexican is Comida Caseras Tonitas: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/11/28/brilliance-of-the-seas-live-blog-day-3-cozumel I've also been to Ernesto's a few times, which you can walk to from the cruise terminal: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Abz3jjkknJQVAp947
JFCruise
It's not a 'restaurant', but the Municipal Market (Mercado Municipal) has some mind-blowing cochinita pibil, which is the most well-known dish in the entire peninsula. It's absolutely delicious and pretty inexpensive. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Mercado+Municipal/@20.5102228,-86.9601416,15z/data=!4m10!1m2!2m1!1smercado+municipal!3m6!1s0x8f4e59d200524069:0xfd4b3586e3ff935c!8m2!3d20.5065994!4d-86.9472427!15sChFtZXJjYWRvIG11bmljaXBhbFoTIhFtZXJjYWRvIG11bmljaXBhbJIBCnJlc3RhdXJhbnTgAQA!16s%2Fg%2F1v8j1hd1?entry=ttu

tonyfsu21
We rented a jeep once and rode the perimeter where we found a great spot right on the water (eastern portion of island) Coconuts bar and grill. The ride is pretty great and you can stop for sightseeing at the lighthouse along Quintana Roo C-1 which is the perimeter road around the island. This ride was enjoyable and safe.
