jlock-14
I prefer using essential oils for day to day things and for health reasonings. If I bring them with me on my cruise, will they be confiscated? They’re not cheap and I don’t want to lose them.
Ryan79
As long as there are no federally prohibited chemicals or ingredients in those oils, you will be fine. jlock-14
jlock-14
How would they know if it does or doesn’t? I’ll likely have them diluted in roller vials to use on the ship rather than take my entire bottle of the concentrated stuff.
Geezer Of The Seas
https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy While essential oils aren't specifically banned, there's a couple of points in the prohibited items list that could be broadly interpreted. Their ship, their rules. You could call customer service and ask. What you get for a response? Well...... Bottom line, if it concerns you, they're expensive and you don't want them seized, leave them at home. jlock-14
smokeybandit
I wouldn't be concerned. They're not illegal. At worst they get confused for something that is, but it's not like they're going to rummage through your luggage looking for contraband. jlock-14

If they SUSPECT that there is…it will be confiscated. They don’t have to prove anything. You also run the risk of bringing someone into to foreign country that has a ban on such substances. You do NOT want that to deal with. Worrying about how “expensive” the oil is would be the least of your concern! jlock-14
smokeybandit
A quick google search doesn't return any hits on countries that ban essential oils. jlock-14
Bowen
A friend sailed with about 30 bottles of EO, no issues. jlock-14
RockerDom31
On my very first cruise, my wife brought some essential oils, just in case I get seasick or nauseous. When her carry-on bag went through the X-Ray machine, the agents asked to inspect her bag. We knew we had nothing to hide so we were intrigued why they wanted to hand-inspect her bag. Turns out, they thought the little vials of essential oils resembled little vials of alcohol. Simple misunderstanding and we were on our way shortly after. jlock-14
CrimsonCruiser
Only reason I could see them being an issue is if you have if you planned on bring a burner (which it doesn't sound like you do) or you had THC-infused oils. TakeMeSomewhere
Also, anything that is confiscated, unless it is illegal, will be returned to you at the end of the cruise. jlock-14
