Topheran
Hello, We adopted our son in February and also had his name changed as well. His birth certificate is his old name but on the cruise we have it listed as his actual new adopted name. We have a copy of the court adoption order stating the name has changed, is that enough? Thanks!
Xaa
That should be enough. If you have time to get Passports, that is always the best. ChessE4, Topheran and Cactus527
Topheran
Thanks we cant get passports yet because his official new birth certificate takes 6 months to arrive
Xaa
Makes sense. Congratulations BTW. I get so excited about cruises, I was missing the big picture. What a great thing to celebrate on your cruise. Just bring is BC and the adoption papers. It will be fine. Linda R and Cactus527

smokeybandit
Yes, the decree plus original birth certificate will be enough
PastorW
Just went through this last week. We took our adopted sons original birth certificate and a copy of our adoption decree signed by the judge. At the terminal the agent had to get her supervisors approval, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Just an extra step. We weren’t ever asked again for them. When we disembarked the customs agent never looked at them. I was a little stressed because I’d hate for that to be an issue, but it really wasn’t. congrats and have a great time! Babsy47
We had this issue with my sister and her adopted son. She had the birth certificate, the adoption decree, and the name change document. It went smoothly. KristiZ
