Late traditional dining and show times.

We are debating between the 515 early dining for traditional seating or the late seating. I tried to book showtimes and it says I can’t do that until we get on the ship. If we choose the 8 o’clock late traditional dining time what times are those shows and will we be able to eat and see a show on the same night? We are traveling with unvaccinated kiddos and have just learned we cannot do my time dining for the traditional dining so we’re either stuck with early or late for the duration of our cruise unless we choose to do a Buffet for dinner… which we don’t want to do.

On previous cruises a show was presented during the early seating dining session and late seating passengers would attend the first show and eat after the show.  We always choose My Time dining as 5:15 or 5:30 is too early and 8:00 or 8:30 is too late for us.

We are sailing on Allure of the Seas on November 21st, 6 nights.

This is our 5th Royal Caribbean cruise ( all of which have been on Allure or Oasis)

We typically would pick my time dining and eat in the main dining room during the times that work best each dat but unfortunately we learned that since we are traveling with 6 kiddos under the age of 12 we could not pick that dining option because they are "unvaccinated"... so we are have to pick either between 5:15 or the 8pm option. This is a family cruise and there are 17 of us all together. 11 fully vaccinated adults/eligible kids and 6 kiddos ( ages 2 to 11)

I hate not being able to book our shows before hand so I know what dining option to pick.... But the cruise Compas did help and it helps knowing that they are typically 2 different times per each show. I wonder how hard it is to get reservations for the times you need? I do know that the unvaccinated are in the balcony areas and there are less seating there then in the main theater area.

Is the buffet available for dinner? Reservations required? I do not want to eat at the buffet for dinner but it might be the only option on one of the days we are at port as our excursion that we booked ( had another excursion booked but found out that again because we are traveling with unvaccinated kids that we have to book through Royal Caribbean ONLY and they must have an excursion booked to even get off of the boat)... but it doesn't get done till after 4 and there would be no way to get my group of 6 girls ready for the early dining option.

Less than 3 weeks to our departure and I am trying to get excited but feeling nervous we should have never of booked this cruise especially traveling with kids.... seems like alot of segregation and rules ( dining, shows, venues) specifically between groups of people who are traveling with kids who CAN NOT get vaccinated.

The Windjammer is open on my sailing. I was told the Oct 31st Allure sailing had 3330 pax. I remember reading it was to be 3800. The selection is very limited as we stopped by last night before heading to the MDR. With so many people and some unvaxxed your options may be limited, the later show times are vaxxed only. We were able to get all the times we waited with am 8pm dinner reservation but we are only 5. If you aren't taking the children to shows then everything might work out.
