twangster Posted January 25, 2021 Report Posted January 25, 2021 Welcome to the message boards. I suggest doing Mayan ruins from Costa Maya instead of Cozumel. Cozumel is an island and the best ruins are on the mainland so it involved a lengthy ferry ride that is known for being a rough crossing in a small ferry. KristiZ Posted January 25, 2021 Report Posted January 25, 2021 Welcome to the boards! While expensive, the only way I can recommend seeing ruins from Cozumel is to do Chichen Itza by air. This gives you maximum time at the ruins and avoids the long bus rides that you'd have to take to other sites. Baked Alaska 1 Quote
KWong Posted January 25, 2021 Report Posted January 25, 2021 Chichen Itza is my favourite but it's not one that I'd recommend going to off of a cruise, because you'll be quite rushed. Save that trip for if/when you go to a resort/hotel in Cancun. From Cozumel, Tulum is much closer, but it's not as impressive as Chichen Itza. I wanted to see some ruins from Costa Maya, but at the time the kids weren't interested. Perhaps another time for me. Quote
