Firephotog51
We have been on 2 RC cruises in recent years. Enchantment and Rhapsody. Each cruise we found the self serve ice cream machines shut down except for day-time hours and even then it was hit or miss. It seems reasonable to expect the machines to be functional most, if not all, hours of the day and night. I realize they must be cleaned periodically but to be shut down every evening and all night seems like a disservice to the paying customer. Am I missing some greater explanation here? The smaller ships aren't 24X7, based on my several cruises. I don't know what the official soft-serve hours are, but the logistics on Vision Class are definitely different than on Oasis Class. I've learned to enjoy the other benefits they offer, such as the Centrum, the Solarium, or a relaxing sea view from Deck 5.
741953
Seeing someone complaining about "no ice cream at night" just made my day. Don't know anything about other ships, but according to previous Navigator OTS Cruise Compass that I read, soft serve available from 11 am to 6 pm. twangster
All cruise lines are different and offer amenities at different times. Royal doesn't offer food 24x7 (except room service at a cost) or ice cream 24x7. I don't see it as a "disservice" in any way but I've never had a craving for ice cream at 4am either. mk-ultra
I get upset when baked beans aren't available for breakfast. It's nearly impossible to assemble a "full English" without them. They've always got the sad grilled tomatoes and some random mushrooms... but where are my beans? Sigh.
SpeedNoodles
Even on Mariner and Ovation the machines were only available at very limited times. I didn't personally find a problem with this.
