Vlad K
Hi guys, Anyone knows if you could bring neodymium magnets hooks to the ship? I mean can you bring them on the plane? Any problems with x-ray scanners?

sabarwolf
On our last, we just bought Dollar Store magnets. Had no problems in the checked luggage.
Pima1988
Off topic, but on topic, if I am correct those magnets hold 75 lb plus weight. I would not purchase that strong of a magnet. My hubby purchased off Amazon the 60 lb magnet and it was fine. The problem we found that they were so strong that they are hard to pull off the wall
bhageerah
I have the 40 pound limit magnets and have not had any issues to date!
Flacruiser99
I'm looking at these 22 lbs think they are strong enough? https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Strong-Neodymium-Kitchen-Workplace/dp/B077PZLX6M/ref=pd_cp_328_1/144-6609024-4917433?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B077PZLX6M&pd_rd_r=3d919c04-2df6-4071-97f2-e8e6d09cac4d&pd_rd_w=GfzLq&pd_rd_wg=omKaw&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=EGVAJWY4VSFE1ESSVCP9&psc=1&refRID=EGVAJWY4VSFE1ESSVCP9
CrznTxn
Remember, if you are using these on the wall they only hold 1/3 of the advertised holding power so for these 22 lb magnets they will typically hold only 7 pounds. Also if the wall is slick like some of the cabin walls are they will slide easily if they are fairly weak. The 40 lb magnets work well and we use them to hold our jackets, hats, etc all the time. Any problems traveling with it? Did you brought it on the plane? Luggage? Just thinking it it won't be a problem for x-ray scanners. Don't want to be searched or having magnets confiscated because they are strong
CrznTxn
We've put them in our checked airline luggage for both East and West coast trips and have not had a problem. They are not listed in the "prohibited" list by TSA. raahc
