cobra614
I tried searching, but the thread I found was years old, so I figured I'd start a new one. I would be playing blackjack, craps and video poker. My wife will be playing slots. This will be our first ever cruise, any info on the above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Usually you will find a 10 and 15 $ blackjack tables in Symphony during the evening , during sea days you can find special morning session with table minimum that will be lower (I think 5 $ for few hours) . Slot machine you will fine many Penny machines , some 5 cent , very few dollar and above. just take into consideration that many time if you want to play the penny machines and cover all the lines it will cost between 10 cent to 1 $. Enjoy your cruise. cobra614

Thanks Usually the 10$ blackjack tables will be 6:5 blackjack. If you make the move to 15 those are almost always 3:2. The house edge on 3:2 is about .50% and at 6:5 is 2% so make the jump. cobra614

I'd rather not play at all on a 6/5 table, so I will be making the jump for sure. Any idea on craps minimums?

JLMoran
I've only sailed Freedom and Anthem so far, both had $5 table minimum for craps. As @Traveler noted, unless you bet at least $25 a throw you'll only get crappy single odds. When you get to $25 a throw then you get 2x odds. Side note: Celebrity has apparently started offering 3x/4x/5x odds on craps when you reach the required minimum bet, which is a heck of a lot better. (although you can blow through your bankroll a heck of a lot faster, too!) cobra614
cobra614
Well crappy single odds it is I guess. They still pay the correct place bets odd I assume?

Miller Lite
Recently on Mariner $50.00 Pass Bet will get you 3/4/5x odds. The only Blackjack table that had 3:2 was $100.00 minimum with the dealer hitting Soft 17 & 8 decks. They also have Single Deck Blackjack on pretty much every ship that pays 6:5 with a house edge around 1.47% (Dealer Hits Soft 17 | No Double After Split | Only Split Two Hands). As far as slots go, I wouldn't expect much as cruise ships are notorious having lower payout percentages compared to most land based casinos. Good Luck! Technically that's still 1:1, due to the funky way that odds are calculated on a point of 5 or 9.
