  1. No need to smack yourself Joe. I just edited my post to show the itinerary. It was not there when you first read it.
  2. Will be boarding Adventure later this month. I do not have the photography or technical skills of @JLMoran or @twangster and I certainly do not have the patience of @Lovetocruise2002 . What I do have in common with @Lovetocruise2002 is that all I want to do this cruise is eat and relax. Bottom line is that I am lazy, although, having worked since I was 12, I earned that right! Soooo…I will not be blogging, but I will be happy to compile a list of questions you may have, try to find the answers and then report back to you. Stopping at Port Canaveral (doing the Royal Pontoon Lagoon excursion), then CocoCay and then Nassau (doing the Royal Pearl Island with lunch excursion)....see....all lazy!? Ask away.
  3. @JLMoran --Done. I added 2 tags "park, stay, shuttle" and "precruise hotel/parking". If anyone can think of better or additional tags let me know.
  4. This is not related specifically to Royal Caribbean, but can certainly be helpful to everyone, especially when flying to your port of departure. We have had great success using a site called buyreservations.com We have used them several times over the past few years and have always been pleased. They give you options for hotels that provide a room, parking and airport/cruiseport shuttle package. In our case, it usually comes out less costly than booking through the hotel directly and also less than other sites we have looked at. Most times we have paid approximately $150 for a package including a one night stay (the night before the cruise or vacation destination), parking, round trip shuttle and, in some cases, continental breakfast. We have stayed in Embassy Suites or Wyndham properties. The included parking is usually 7-10 days with very reasonable daily rates for excess days. Most parking alone can be $20+ a day, so with everything else that is included, I think this is a great value. Prices vary by city and there may be several cities not serviced, but it is certainly worth your time to check. Sorry if this sounds like an ad---that is not my intention. It’s just that we used them again today and thought it may be of help to all.
  5. @hayley_bopp Step by step to your luggage tags. Log in. That should open to your Dashboard. Right under your reservation number there should be a link that says "Stateroom details & eDOCs". Click on that. IF your documents are ready yet, a pop up will appear. (Like @rjac said, it may be a little early.) That will show your stateroom number on top, names of people on the reservation on the left and on the right will be a link saying "eDoc1" Click on that. Scroll to the bottom----our luggage tag was on page 18 of 19. There will be just one tag there--print out as many as you need. ENJOY YOUR CRUISE!!!
  6. Good luck, S!(keeping you incognito since your name change ?) Hope it works out well for you!
  7. @rjac -I had to laugh at that because, according to that site, our cruise directors may not need any experience but our server may! (My saying that with absolutely no disrespect towards servers--just that CDs may not need experience.) "ACL hires people with college degrees as cruise directors- even if they have no cruise experience! Other positions such as server and youth counselor may require prior experience."
  8. Here ya go! https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=435
  9. Neaxan, I wish you the best of luck. YOU CAN DO IT!!
  10. @Traveler Fantastic blog and loving your pictures! Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  11. It is not about beating a dead horse or about being politically correct. It's about human beings showing some respect and sympathy for parents who lost a child under tragic circumstances. It is baffling to me how some people don't get that. If it's supposed to be a family here on RCBlog, I guess I've been disowned by some. Oh well.
  12. The point you are making, whether intended or not, is that it is fine to poke fun at someone else's tragedy. If that is the society you are in, then I am thrilled to not be a part of it.
  13. @ellcee , I was absolutely not referring to you. You stated a simple thought which you have every right to do. I know from your posts that you have never been offensive or sarcastic.
  14. Some of the comments here belong on the "other" board. Some things should just plain not be joked about. Do not want to hear how I should lighten up or get a sense of humor---"it's not me, it's you".
  15. Jane--what a beautiful family picture. And what a great feeling when we can bring such a great smile like your daughter's to our children's' faces.
  16. The cups you get with the package are for use in the freestyle drink machines. These machines dispense a wide variety of drinks. There is a chip in the cup that activates the machine. If you don't want to carry the cup, you can still get sodas at any bar or venue.
  17. Welcome to the board Mimi. Yes, the alcoholic deluxe package (at least for my sailing-it can vary) is $42 per person per day as opposed to the regular $56. Be aware that Royal's policy is that if one person in a cabin buys the package, everyone else in that cabin over 21 years old also has to buy it. You can try calling to get an exception.
  18. Check your cruise planner folks. Got an email today and there is, again, some pretty decent pricing--$18pp/pd refreshment package, $42pp/pd deluxe package and some good (some not so good) excursion deals. Remember, if you already booked anything at higher prices, you can cancel and re-book. Anything previously paid by OBC will show back in your account immediately. Credit card refunds will take a few days. Hope this helps save my fellow cruisers some money. Happy sailing!
  19. I just got that email today. My real question is what are the odds they will really call and that I will be available to even take the call? The fine print says they will try calling only one time. We currently have the exact middle hump balcony cabin booked, which we love. But I would imagine upgrading to a Jr Suite for $300 is pretty much a no brainer--never stayed in a suite before and it would be a nice surprise for DW. I know, I know---....can never go back! Double points would be nice also. Only downsides could be the location and the fact that there is no Coastal Kitchen on Adventure of the Seas. Based on today's pricing, the Jr Suite is $1048 more than the balcony, BUT the website says all OV, Balcony and Suites are sold out. Only Interior cabins are available. So I'm guessing between that and being way past final payment date, I'll never get the call anyway. Oh well, nice to dream. Here is the email and fine print: We’re excited to welcome you onboard soon! As your sailing approaches, there may be an opportunity to upgrade your stateroom for the below price. Secure your position on the waitlist and take advantage of this limited offer. If an upgrade becomes available, we will call you to process the upgrade.* POTENTIAL UPGRADE: Junior Suite UPGRADE PRICE: $ 300 TERMS & CONDITIONS *Price is per stateroom, in USD, and subject to Royal Caribbean offering Potential Upgrade to guest. The above upgrade price is not an offer to upgrade at this time. By clicking the “Add Me To The List” button, guest agrees that Royal Caribbean may use guest’s phone number to call guest to offer a stateroom upgrade, subject to these offer terms. Upgrade offer only applicable to the guest, stateroom, and sailing identified above; upgrades are not transferable. Offers are made in Royal Caribbean’s sole discretion. Inclusion on the wait list does not guarantee that an upgrade will be offered to guest. Royal Caribbean will make one attempt to call guest using the phone number listed on guest’s booking. If guest fails to answer the call, Royal Caribbean will move on to the next eligible guest on the wait list and will not call again. Upgrade is subject to an additional per-stateroom charge. Payment is due in full at the time of guest’s acceptance and is non-refundable. Limit one upgrade per booking through any offer by Royal Caribbean. Conditions of guest’s original cruise reservation will remain in effect after upgrade.
  20. Sorry, can't help you there, Joe. Actually, per your signature on CC, you have been on twice as many cruises as I have and I have not done a TA.
  21. My opinion, quite frankly Joe, is that you should not go. I really think that if you once again dislike this CD as much as you did on Harmony, you will keep thinking that you should not have gone and spent a lot of money to be miserable. Some people say that the CD doesn't make or break their cruise, but in this case I think it will for you. The only possible regret you will have by not going would come if they end up changing the CD. Considering the bad feelings and doubt that you have, just pass on this one. You can do a TA on another ship if you like and cruise on Symphony at a different time.

Wishing a Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all here that celebrate!
  23. Any chance you can find out how long her contract is? We sail Adventure in May. Based on your opinion, sure hope she is gone by then. Hopefully you are enjoying your cruise despite the lack of a good CD. Thanks!
