  1. The very last line of your quoted text is "The Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee is applicable to North American reservations only."
  2. I would guess it does have some relation to the size of the room. Let's say one steward is expected to clean 20 standard rooms. Would they also assign one steward to 20 larger suites? I doubt it because the suites will take longer to clean. Therefore, if the suite steward has fewer rooms but it takes the same total amount of time to clean, then they need a higher per room rate so that they make the same amount for working the same number of hours. Who would want to be the suite steward if it meant you made less money?
  3. Sometimes your browser won't notice that there's new/different content on a website and just uses what is cached on your computer. I've noticed this alot on a Disney forum I visit. When I see the same headlines on the top page, I sometimes have to hold down the control button while hitting refresh to force Chrome to fully reload the page without using the cache. Maybe give that a try on Royal's website.
  4. Do you mean the ship skipped Mazatlan and/or no one was allowed to get off there for some reason? In those cases, yes they would refund the port fees. If you mean you personally chose not to get off the ship, they would not refund the port fees. If you have the opportunity to go ashore, the ship (and thus you) owe port fees. I suppose it's possible there was a significant difference between the expected port fees that were charged when booking and the actual port fees when you arrived. If they refunded the difference to everyone, that was a nice but unexpected gesture.
  5. The angled black lines are to show the door location for interior rooms. Therefore, if the yellow highlighted line is a wall, then the entrances to both 10231 and 10633 are blocked from your suites. However, you can definitely cross through the elevator lobby. It would only add a few seconds to the walk. Either way, those are still the closest interior rooms to your suites.
  6. I think your statement is the "correct" and/or "official" answer. However, I think by default the chips in the cups are activated for 14 days (which is long enough to cover almost every single cruise with a few transatlantic/transpacific exceptions). Therefore, the cups would probably work fine for B2B cruises but I don't think that is Royal's intention.
  7. A lot of the excursions are offered by small companies or family businesses and many of them had to change jobs during the pandemic. Add in the staffing problems every company is experiencing these days and neither Royal or the excursion companies are as willing to promise they'll be able to run a specific excursion many months or even more than a year away. I think they are just trying to avoid too many refunds and upset customers due to canceled excursions by waiting until closer to the cruise to actively promote them. That's just my wild guess based on seeing this topic come up a lot in the last year.
  8. If you mean Nov 27th of this year (as in <2 weeks away), the ship is likely very close to sold out. That means you're also going to run into issues with lifeboat capacity for the muster stations assigned to the area of the ship you are looking at. If there are three empty 4 person rooms available in the muster station but there are only 4 lifeboat spots left, then they cannot sell them to a group of 10. So it can look like rooms are available, but once one is sold, the others would be forced to remain unsold.
  9. The farther out you book, the better prices you can get but there's also more risk of changes due to charters, itinerary updates, and even ship redeployments. It's all part of the cruise industry.
  10. Don't assume Royal is lying to you. It's entirely possible that the port in Progresso needs to be dredged in order for Adventure to safely navigate. Sea level and ocean floor changes can affect a ship's ability to use a port.
  11. As Fiona said, it's your TA's job to do this as Royal will not even talk to you about your reservation when it is booked through a TA. However, not all TAs are will be very helpful. Some will think they've already earned their commission and swapping cabins is extra work for no additional pay so they may try to ignore you. Other TAs will be happy to keep you happy. Also, it's not clear to me whether you booked under US rules, UK rules, European rules, etc. That can change what you are allowed to do and what it might cost due to different local regulations.
  12. Well, here's my two cents: If I were much older and/or not in good health, I don't think I would travel without a passport. But since I'm relatively young (44) and generally healthy, I could justify taking a single trip without a passport. Plenty of people do this all the time, especially those who are first time cruisers. I would hope if they enjoy that first cruise, they consider getting a passport for future trips.
  13. Here's the simplest advice I can give. If it has power outlets, it MAY get confiscated. If it ONLY has USB outlets, you are almost certainly safe. If you need more power outlets, the best option is to get a device that converts the European style outlets into US outlets. Just be sure you understand whether or not such a device also converts the power from 240V to 120V. You can burn up your electronics if they receive 240V when they only expect 120V.
  14. Yes, you'll likely be on A ship to leave but that's not the issue. If it's a serious medical problem, you aren't going to stay in the ship's medical facility until the cruise is over. They are going to take you to the closest medical facility that can handle you and that may or may not be in the USA. If you're on Cococay, either the cruise ship or a different boat (something normally used for staff) is likely taking you to Nassau. From Labadee, I'm not really sure where you'd be taken. Once you get dropped off at a medical facility outside the USA, then, once you recover, how are you getting home without a passport? That's the risk. Edited to add - Of course, that risk is very small but it does exist.
  15. Muster stations are assigned based on the physical locations of the cabins. Muster stations are basically the gathering point for your lifeboat in the event the ship needs to be evacuated. If something were to happen overnight (when most everyone is in their cabins), there should be a fairly direct route from your cabin to your muster station so that everyone could get there quickly and efficiently. Then, you would be led from the Muster to the lifeboat if necessary. If something were to happen during the day when people are all over the ship, it would obviously be more chaotic to reach your muster station. Each lifeboat only holds a certain number of people so it is not possible to reallocate your children to your muster station. In fact, if the lifeboat capacity has been reached for a muster station, they will stop selling empty cabins in that section of the ship and prevent you from adding passengers to existing cabins even if there is an empty bed. Since you have been assigned your cabin so early, it is possible you will be able to swap one of your cabins for a nearby cabin that is in the EXACT same category as the assigned cabin. Just because you booked a balcony guarantee does not mean you can move to ANY balcony. If you were assigned a E4 balcony cabin (for example) you would have to move to a different E4 balcony cabin.
  16. Over on some Disney boards, it's been reported that all of DCL's ships have started returning to in-person Muster Drill. Posters are split over whether it's a DCL choice or a Coast Guard/legal requirement. Any rumors for Royal? I feel like there are posters here who would have much more insight into whether the Coast Guard was involved in the decision.
  17. Sorry to nitpick a morbid detail, but this sentence got me thinking. How would Royal know if you passed? My next of kin would obviously contact my banks, credit cards, etc but I don't think anyone would ever contact Royal unless my spouse remarried after my death. I suspect there are plenty of C&A accounts where the owner has passed. Perhaps Royal eventually closes them after some years of inactivity or when the owner reaches a ridiculous age (120 years old?). Hmm, not sure why I found this so interesting to think about...
  18. Royal has been running variations of $550 off for weeks if not months now. If you booked in the last few days, it is HIGHLY likely that you already booked under a "sale" with almost the same offer you are seeing today. Go through the first few steps of booking the cruise you are on and you will probably see that the final price hasn't changed much. If it has, sure you can take advantage but odds are it will come out less than $100 different.
  19. If they are already permanent residents of the USA with green cards as you have stated, then it shouldn't be difficult to provide the requested information.
  20. Well, now that's a different problem than how you previously described it. I change my previous answer to - Royal's website is being goofy which is sadly normal. On the plus side, there is absolutely NO benefit to booking more than one cabin at a time because each cabin will still become its own reservation. You'll have to take the minor extra step of linking the reservations together so that you'll dine together.
  21. Fun fact. There's no such thing as "Cruise Approved". That's purely marketing by unscrupulous vendors/manufacturers. Almost always a unrecognizable brand from a third party seller. You can find items claiming to be "Cruise Approved" that clearly state they have surge protectors in them.
  22. You need to look at the icons that indicate the cabin capacity on the deck plans. When you are booking a cabin for 4 people, they are only showing you the available cabins that can hold 4+ people. (In other words, they aren't showing the ones that are only for 2 people.) When you are booking a cabin for 2 people, they are only showing the cabins that hold 2. They don't want 2 people to book a 3+ person cabin. They may relax that rule once the cruise is closer but by then your odds of getting adjacent cabins will go down. The website is going to follow these rules very strictly. If you call and book over the phone with Royal (or if you use a TA), then you may find more flexibility because they have different search tools.
  23. Can you tell if a device has surge protection by looking at it? I'm an electrical engineer and I can't do that. The staff at the port don't have time to look up the manuals for every device they see so it's safer to reject anything with outlets. Literally safer. Surge protection can cause fires on a ship because surge protection relies on electrical grounding which doesn't work the same way when you are floating on water.
  24. Unless those 5 people decided to spend the day in their cabin, they should have noticed that there was no one around and realized something was weird. Then again, if they were in their cabin, they should have been easy to find and escort off the ship. Hopefully, Royal, the port, and customs learned something from this and will do better in the future.
  25. If you sign a check that says you used a voucher for a $3 coffee, you can't later complain that the voucher shouldn't have been used. You reject the check and have the bartender fix it before they close the check. If you fail to notice, that's on you. However, if the system forces the bartender to print a $0 check when a voucher is used, I think that would actually discourage bartenders from using vouchers without asking. So this policy may be more about changing the bartenders behavior. They may have found that bartenders hit the voucher button because it is faster but that is costing them in increased guest services effort.
