  1. I am really looking forward to this sports bar.  Both my wife and I love watching sports.  I doubt they will be broadcasting Raptor/Jays games.  Maybe my Fins (not until next season).

Is this Royal's play against Carnival's Guy's Burger Joint?  Johnny Rockets just doesn't cut it.  I did enjoy my breakfast at JR though on Oasis class.

I find the best value (for us) is a good credit card. Don’t’ read the marketing material, read the certificates of insurance. They are not all the same. I have compared the coverage side-by-side with stand alone policies and I can’t find anything superior that fits our needs.

Ours covers travel medical, trip cancellation, trip interruption, loss due to theft, etc., etc. It also covers all the people on the trip with me…don’t have to buy a policy for each person.

The only real limitation is max 15 day coverage (under age 65). In that case a call will get the coverage extended with a reasonable charge.

Not to mention we purchase our airfare with the points we accumulate annually.

It has an annual fee of $120 which is way, way less than an equivalent stand alone policy.

Make sure you do read their fine print regarding stability period as well.

Most credit cards that offer Trip Cancellation/Interruption require you to purchase the entire trip on that card as well.

  3. With any insurance policy, make sure you read the policy wording thoroughly.  If you do not understand their definitions, call and ask them.  Most companies require you to call their Emergency Assistance line before accepting treatment.  There are many shady medical clinics that will order every test possible if they find out you are a tourist.  Also, many claims are denied because the policyholder did not disclose pre-existing conditions properly or was not "stable" under the insurance company's definitions.

  4. Make sure you book your show tickets on the cruise planner.  They should be available now if you sail in April.  If you want to avoid crowds, skip the Windjammer buffet and head to Park Cafe located in the Central Park area on embarkment day.

Hope you enjoy the cruise and the ship!

Makes me wonder if they'll try to introduce a "Faster To The Fun" option like Carnival has.  Basically buy up to elite status in terms of boarding on day 1 and for tenders.

If the price is right, I would buy it.  Airlines and amusement parks have already been using this service.  Great marketing and loyalty tool for travel agents to "gift" to their clients as well.

Also, of course I just purchased private trip insurance (not Cancel for any reason) yesterday for the family before I saw this.  Debating on the cost/risk/reward of buying additional insurance.  Does anyone know what would happen if someone had a 2 policies? I wouldn't buy for the entire family just the 2 people who could cancel.

Check in the policy wording if they have "Free-Look" period where you can cancel the policy with a full refund.

  7. Travel Insured International - Worldwide Trip Protector Plus has cancellation for any reason up to 48hrs prior to scheduled departure.  Fine prints says you must purchase the Worldwide Trip Protector Plus no longer than 21 days (30d for FL residents) after your trip deposit date.  They will refund up to 75% of non-refundable, insured trip costs

  8. I am not sure how it works with USA medical insurance, but our provincial health insurance plans do not cover much outside of Canada.  So it is highly recommended to purchase emergency travel insurance for us Canadians.

Assuming he gets the OK from his Doctor to travel, I would not leave the country without any travel medical insurance.  Most plans will have a stability clause so I would research plans that insures pre-existing conditions with no stability period.  My FIL had an angioplasty and his insurance company would not insure his pre-existing conditions until it has been at least six weeks after the procedure.

Warm humid climate causes a lot of stress to the respiratory system and consequently the heart has to work harder as well.
