  1. I play D&D does that count? But seriously, I assume this is unique to Allure. I had the impression i would have no problem going to the helipad on Liberty to star gaze....
  2. Alas, i don't think they can make a margarita on Liberty until they are 12 miles out. They do make something called a "Guava-rita". I'm just hoping I can get a Jack and Coke before we set sail
  3. Because you can use phrases such as "Geez! It's F""in hot out here!" or "I hate the Sh***y humidity"
  4. Wow! I was looking forward to being Mr. Big Spender and buy my wife a really good bottle of wine.....until I realized the prices are heavily inflated, so i am NOT buying a really god, expensive wine, i am buying a fairly good, overpriced wine! Case in point, the Meiomi wine (#479) is priced at $54 a bottle (no by-the-glass price) while I can buy it at my local liquor store here in Colorado for $25. Ouch!
  5. Guess i need to run down tot he local store and price some Jack Daniels. Will have some OBC to burn anyway!
  6. Considering getting FDNR and most likely eat at Sabors. My question is how limited are you on food? I know in MDR it is pretty much eat-till-you-drop but what about specialty?
  7. My January cruise is already paid in full so no savings there but will still check the excursions and drink packages. Already took advantage of several sales so doubt i can save anymore but cant hurt to check!
  8. Agreed! That's how i got confused. Read a description once that said queen, but my documents say royal king...and there is no mattress size than when you push two together you get a queen.
  9. Great news for me, as i thought we got a queen. I think I figured out why they call it a "Royal" king instead of just a king. A normal king is 80" long while a twin is 76". So when you ush the two twins together you do get the king width but not the king length. My wife and I shared a queen at her parents house last week and now i am relieved to hear the cruise will be a king.
  10. I printed off the documents for my upcoming cruise and I noticed it listed 2 twin beds combined to make one "Royal King". What the heck is a "Royal King"? Any bigger than a normal Queen?
  11. Inconsistent is the word! Redeemed $50 in June and it showed up in July. Redeemed the rest ($200) in July and nothing showed up yet. Called them and got the "Not till closer to embarkation" response
  12. I actually watched a 4 part youtube some guy made on a radiance Alaskan cruise and it looked like a beautiful ship. My only problem with a Alaskan cruise will be figuring out where to "cut corners". Probably will forego a balcony room and just plan on lots of time on deck or windowed areas of the ship. Would rather spend my money on the excursions [ I know, a bit off-topic sorry ]
  13. Good point!! At first I was excited about the big boat coming to Alaska as i really want to go there, but your post got me thinking...perhaps the real secret is to shoot for the smallest ship possible and cut down on the crowds during excursions!
  14. This will be my first cruise so have no experience, but my plan is exactly as described above. On sea days I may do a few things but for the most part I want to enjoy my time with my wife, lounge on the balcony, walk around the promenade. Most of the shows look like they would be "o.k." but nothing I couldn't live without.
  15. The big announcement is the website wont work again today!
  16. Sweet! cant wait for my upgrade. Thanks Matt!
  17. Just did the check and i can save about $60 even though I already reduced once before! Of course then I went and cancelled one of the excursions forgetting I don't have the credit card here at work to rebook it! If by stroke of bad luck it sells out before I get home (unlikely) my son is going to kill me!
  18. I believe the verdict is still out on whether you even can change to Chopps on Liberty. But if you can the method is as described above. Soon as you board go to a specialty restaurant. They will be able to tell you where/when you are booked and make the changes (based on availability) you want. I was going to buy FDNR for my family but chose not to once the "Chopps Controversy" started out here.
  19. For Cozumel (which I have never been to) I am hoping to have enough time after "SSS&M" to grab a cab and hit the plaza. Looks like there is a rabbit warren on shops on the back side of it, including a hammock shop that a local Cozumel website recommends. Also hoping to find a few Guebara shirts but suspect I wont find much Since I have an hour or so when we first dock before heading to my excursion will probably hit the port stores just to kill time. Hoping to grab some Tramidol (bad knees) at the drug store and a t-shirt at Margaritaville. (Yes, I actually have a shopping list!)
  20. As a programmer myself I can guess what is happening here and yes it sounds like an IT problem. My guess (without actually seeing their code)....The bartender rings up the drink, the computer BEFORE hitting the "Drink Package" flag hits a flag saying "no available spending account" and rejects the order, when in reality it should check the drink package flag first. Maybe when i retire (in 10 years) , RC can hire me to rewrite their software......from the deck of Liberty of course.....while tossing back margaritas....
  21. If Choppes is not included in FNDR I will probably ski it and have lunch later in the week at Sabors
  22. Crap! I was really hoping for the kidney!
  23. And the pricing for many of us has already been $41 all week without this supposed sale.
