  1. The Gift is just weird...but totally family appropriate. We loved Spectra's Cabaret. It was a bit psychedelic but very entertaining. I thought it was fine for my kids who were 9,11 when we sailed. Younger kids will likely just be mesmerized by the dancing and all lights and special effects. We Will Rock You is PG I would say. To be totally honest, it is nothing that kids probably don't already hear on the playground. Being a teacher, I can vouch for that. However, depending on the age of your kids and your own comfort level, you might want to keep the kids out of this one. My kids did go, and we just had a quick discussion afterwards. There is no actual swearing but there was some language. The costumes were a bit more risqué than say Mama Mia, and there was one scene on a couch where the lights dim and you draw your own conclusions. That's about all I can remember.
  2. This was by far, a super funny thread! Reminds me of how much I love this RCBlog community
  3. Came across this earlier....this was the wording sent to TAs. “We would like to inform you of an upcoming change to our Non-Refundable Deposit Program, resulting from a review of booking analytics over the past year. Based on this research, the onboard credit earned when booking six months or more prior to sailing will no longer apply. This update will take effect on all new bookings made on or after November 1st, 2018.We are confident that this change will not impact your business. The Non-Refundable Deposit Program continues to offer the best pricing available — and will always be priced lower than the standard fare during brand promotions.”
  4. The next cruise OBC is still in play. It's just the extra $100 OBC that you get from booking a NRD more than 6 months out that they are doing away with.
  5. Woohoo!!!! Suite snobs unite! ? @Boston Babe, you should join us.....lol
  6. I am dying a slow death this week with all these CK pics!!!!! I love Braised Beef Gnocchi! And that Grilled Tofu too!! 220 more days till I can get back to CK! Way too long! By the way, in case anyone is wondering, food is subjective but there was no comparison between CK and the Yacht Club on MSC. CK wins hands down, in flavour, menu variety, and presentation of meals!
  7. I never even knew that suites had a pillow menu! Did you have to ask for the menu or was it on the bed upon arrival?
  8. I seriously need to get one of those cabanas! And nice reading material..?
  9. I have never sailed LOS but I thought there was a tiered section of loungers (near the pool bar) that are roped off for suite guests.
  10. As you can see, @cookingyo is not part of our Canada/NE GC2020 petition. ? Be a good friend, don't make @Matt fly all the way to Europe! Look what happened after he flew to Seattle with you! He came back some weird mix of "talks like@cookingyo" but looks like @Big Dawg Ron in a bathtub. I still cannot un-see that! lol
  11. Oh well in that case, I would say, good chances that wish will come true! ?
  12. Speculating but I would be doubtful on that one. She is doing the summer season next summer in Europe, going into dry dock, coming back to Miami in November 2019 and then sailing the Caribbean. I would be shocked if they sent her back to Europe again in April 2020, especially since Allure is up next for revitalization and following the same path as Oasis. That would put 2 Oasis class ships in Europe. My bet would be on Allure heading there for the summer 2020 season.
  13. I loved Embassy Suites in Elizabeth, NJ. Complimentary breakfast, modern, clean. It was about a 20min drive to Cape Liberty.
  14. Curiosity got the better of me and I just took a peek at other JS across the fleet....On voyager class, they are about 264 sq ft., Freedom class they are 297 or so, Oasis class about 287. Balcony cabin on OA class, 182. So like @twangster said, given the history of the ship, most of those cabins on Empress, not just the JS, run smaller than the typical cabins on others in the fleet.
  15. Is your JS on Empress smaller than the other JS across the fleet? It looks more narrow. Or maybe that's just the pictures....
  16. Funny you say that cause while I watched this scope with my daughter yesterday, I was saying to her how great it was to be able to watch events like this and belly flop in the Aqua Theatre. Not crowded and unobstructed views. You are definitely turning into a small ship guy ?
  17. I have a feeling that I'll be dreaming of CK tonight!
  18. Wow! That Meet&Mingle is earlier than the usual 10am time.
  19. Enjoy your vacation! In the words of @twangster, "Don't be a slave to the live blog".
  20. Not if you work for a board that requires a doctor's note after a few days...that is problematic lol In Ontario...Last day of school is always the last Friday of June.....???
