  1. When I did Anthem last year Bar Harbor: Tour with "At Your Service Taxi and Tours". Charge was $80 a hour for a group of 6. Park entrance was $25. If going to Cadillac Mountain, do it first. Was a virtual parking lot heading up when we left. Saint John: Rented a car with Budget. Then just drove around. Halifax: Tour with "Halifax Titanic Historical Tours". Was around 4 hours, $67 USD/$79 CAD per person. I'm sure prices have gone up since..
  2. Please don't use that on a ship. Has a surge protector built in. https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/DCO Documents/5p/CSNCOE/Safety Alerts/USCG Marine Safety Alert 03-13 Surge Protective Devices Onboard Vessels.pdf?ver=2017-08-08-082206-293
  3. That is the other truth, having the right tools. Shutter lag is a "female dog" when you're use to an instant "click". At the same time the right tool isn't always the latest and greatest top of the line camera.
  4. Very, very, very true! It isn't the camera and glass that makes the shot. Right time and place is the biggest factor. Canon world here, so no idea what S or C is [Added: brain fart moment. Shooting would have been continuous. Other words spray and pray). Mode the camera was would have been Tv on the dial (shutter priority). Not sure if I had set the ISO beforehand or the 40D supported auto ISO. (Added: Only other S and C I could think of would be focus modes. S being single shot and C being continuous. I wouldn't doubt leaving the camera on AF-Servo mode where it would be continuously adjusting focus.) Full details of the whale shot below. 5. I've picked up one of these https://www.amazon.com/GPK-Systems-European-EU-Cord/dp/B00BR8EI84 Just make sure the device you plug in to it can support 240v. Works great with most USB hub style chargers and for laptop power bricks.
  6. If you don't mind gluten-free products. You might want to ask at Cafe Promenade or in Windjammer if they happen to have any UDI brand cookies. Doing a quick look on their site it states most of their products are certified kosher.
  7. My kit for Alaska: Canon 40D (APS-C), 10-22, 24-105, and 100-400 (rented). Will say it was a pain to carry around, but felt it was well worth it to cover the full range. Number of shots taken: 1691, 24-105: 921, 100-400: 692, and 10-22: 78. Only issue I ran into was just about running out of storage on my memory cards. Think I only had two or three 8GB memory cards. Early on I was shooting both JPG and RAW. As my cards filled I swapped to only shooting RAW (each RAW file ranged between 11 to 17 MB and each JPG would range between 2.5 and 6MB). This was back in 2014, so I wasn't hauling a laptop or any means to dump my cards to free them up. 10-22 (shot at 10mm) 24-105 (shot at 60mm) 100-400 (shot at 375mm) Give an idea of crop
  8. Check out Ebay. Seen plenty of sold listings.
  9. Nope, the cruise you hit the point milestone.
  10. Challenge of the block: Trying to plan what ship to get a block on. I'm also part of the crowd planning out what ship to get my next block on.
  11. Yup, the block is the commemorative gift.
  12. Soda in the dining room would be covered. Also no need to bring the cup, they can check by seeing the sticker on your card. One thing to keep in mind is the selection in the dining room won't be the same as the Freestyle dispenser.
  13. If you are booking is held by Royal and not a TA I've found the automated system is a good way to check email address. When getting the confirmation it states the email address used on the booking for where the confirmation will be sent. Reservation Number: 866-562-7625; opt 4; opt 2 or 3; opt 1.
  14. Plus the show is just about the same each night with the same comedians. Then again the routine can change based on the audience dynamics.
  15. Would venture to say a sale will occur for the 4th of July and as thought Labor Day. Major holidays are usually a given.
  16. Correct you get points based on the land tour and cruise. In my case I had booked the "8B" cruisetour on Radiance (13 nights) and was in a suite for the cruise part. Total points earned was 26, 13 points for each night and an extra 13 points for staying in a suite for the cruise.
  17. For posting pictures taken on my phone (S8+, Android) I'll resize them using either "Image Size" or "Photo & Picture Resizer". If it is something taken from a camera, I dump into Adobe Lightroom and it is resized when exporting based on a created profile. From that point is it just clicking "Click to choose files" on my phone or drag and drop from my laptop.
  18. Radiance, south bound with pre cruise land tour (8B). Land part was was essentially flying into Fairbanks and taking the train down to Anchorage. At that point we seperated from the land group and instead of taking a bus to Seward we booked last minute on the train. Did plenty of excursions, none booked with the ship for the cruise part. On the land tour did I think three.
  19. Yes, each guest can be set up to use their own card.
  20. Something else to keep in mind is if any discount or promotion beyond the never ending half off second person or 30% off everyone has been applied. If anything else is offered the shareholder benefit can't be applied.
  21. That seems to a very common opinion and one I fully agree with.
