I've one Halloween on Freedom as well. Sure Adventure would very similar. Plenty of folks in costume, decorations in various locations with plenty on the Promenade. Overall a real fun time to sail.

No deposit needed. Typical is charging privileges will be revoked once you hit $500 until it is paid off or a credit card is placed on your account

This was pulled as when I was filing a claim from the Empress mess when the refurbishment had been delayed. Now if this is typical for any cancelation, not sure. Guests with air transportation booked through Royal Caribbean International that transfer to another sailing will receive modified flights at no cost to them. If your client did not purchase air transportation through Royal Caribbean International, we will assist them by paying for their airline change fee, up to $200 for domestic and $300 for international flights. We ask that guests please send a copy of the receipt for the change fee, along with a brief note explaining that they were booked on the above mentioned sailing dates to the following address: Royal Caribbean International, Customer Service, 1050 Caribbean Way, Miami, FL 33132-2096. Should your client be unable to rebook on one of the alternative sailings and would prefer to cancel, Royal Caribbean International will provide them with a full refund of their cruise fare paid. Cruise fare refunds will be automatically processed back to the original form of payment. Please allow four to six weeks for all transactions to be processed. Also, if your client booked air transportation through Royal Caribbean International, and chooses to cancel, they will receive a full refund.

On Oasis class ships it will be a limited selection of beer, wine, soda, and bottled water. As far as I'm aware on other classes nothing beverage wise is offered outside of the cocktail hour. Coffee/espresso machine is available all the time on any ship.

Bad news... Latisha is no longer working Cafe Promenade on Harmony. She is now a full pledged bartender working various venues on a two week rotation. Will agree she is great! Kept me coming back to Sabor Bar when I was on Harmony in May.

Typical toiletries will be a dispenser in the shower of body wash/shampoo all-in-one combo and I think a bar of soap on the counter. If staying in a Junior Suite or better you'll get the small size bottles of shampoo, body wash, and conditioner.

@Adriana Rest of what I did on Anthem... Boston: Walked the Freedom Trail Portland: Did a food tour (booked outside of Royal) Also in Portland, be sure to stop by The Holy Donut. Did a donut run the first thing in the morning once we had docked. Helps any give a quick glance at the live blog I had done... Just don't look at it if hungry.

Haven't cruised in 15 years. Questions!

Yes, the ship has both at a cost... Cellular service cost will vary based on provider. Cost for internet access over wifi will vary based on desired "speed" and number of concurrent devices connected. -

Talkeetna might work if will to pay some big bucks. My Father did "Fixed Wing Flightseeing: McKinley Flyer with Glacier Landing" excursion the night we arrived. -

Looking over my sheet and comparing to the Alaska Railroad time table. I'm going to say you'll get into Anchorage around 8pm on the 22nd. Reading Royal's info: https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/13NightGrandMountainMarvelsCruisetour7BPreTour-RD13B907?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CT&sailDate=05%2F18%2F2019 DAY 5 Touring: Talkeetna, Alaska / Anchorage, Alaska Alaska Spend the day discovering Talkeetna’s spectacular setting. Take an optional flight sight seeing excursion to the mountain, or visit Talkeetna Lakes Park, home to sea otters and other animals. Then in the late afternoon, board the Wilderness Express for the trip to Alaska’s big city. From 8:00 p.m., experience Anchorage’s unique nightlife: restaurants, craft breweries and city trails are abuzz under the evening sunlight. Overnight at the Anchorage Marriott. DAY 6 Touring: Anchorage, Alaska / Seward, Alaska Alaska The day begins with a guided visit of the acclaimed Anchorage Museum and a brief city tour. Then enjoy free time downtown for lunch, shopping and exploring on your own, before the deluxe motorcoach takes you along the Chugach Mountains to the coast. From 4:00 p.m., the historic port town of Seward is yours to discover. Stroll the historic downtown, one of Alaska’s oldest communities, or hike a trail that is so close to a glacier, you can hear the ice crackling. Overnight at Seward Windsong Lodge. -
Choice is the bottom tier for the casino. Just swiping your card and playing a dollar in a slot machine is all that is needed.

This was mine circa 2014. What is now call: 13 Night Alaska Wilderness Spectacular Cruisetour 8B (Pre Tour) -
Depending on ship you either get a code at check in or it will be in your room, just depends on when you get your SeaPass card. When you login to use Voom you'll enter that code versus setting up an account.

Paging @Matt for the new camera purchased for Alaska. -
More drinks, the more entertaining "Operation Little Bear" becomes. Just hope the muster station is one that you can sit at...

Question for Twangster - Most Favored Lens

I didn't bother to install the new "Lightroom CC". Just wish they didn't play the name change game to the "Classic" moniker. Would have it been so bad to have kept the old name. Corporate America loves changing names of products. Heck, look at Royal. Refreshment and Replenish drink packages now called Classic Soda and Refreshment. /rant mode off -

Question for Twangster - Most Favored Lens
CGTLH replied to masterdrago's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
@mvannie Going to agree with @twangster suggestion about shooting RAW and getting comfortable with post processing. Lenses you have right now I think are EF-S mount style. Those will only work with crop bodies, so moving to a full frame body would be out. Well, unless you want to invest in new glass. Many of the rumors surrounding Canon's new mirrorless are pointing to full frame and potentially a new lens mount. Sure an adapter will be created, question is if the EF-S lens will work. Me personally, I would think about a new body making sure it is still an APS-C (crop) sensor. Key thing might be moving up in body lines, maybe moving to an 80D if the features are there. Other thing might be investing in a better lens in the focal length used the most. Personally if investing in new glass, go with only an EF mount. Reason being you'll be ready for full frame down the road. One thing I would suggest, look are renting a body or lens you might be intrested in. Depending on length of time the rental cost might be fairly reasonable. Just keep an eye out for discount codes and make sure you compare "out the door" cost. Some of the rental shops bundle shipping in with the rental while others are separate. -
When I did Anthem last year Bar Harbor: Tour with "At Your Service Taxi and Tours". Charge was $80 a hour for a group of 6. Park entrance was $25. If going to Cadillac Mountain, do it first. Was a virtual parking lot heading up when we left. Saint John: Rented a car with Budget. Then just drove around. Halifax: Tour with "Halifax Titanic Historical Tours". Was around 4 hours, $67 USD/$79 CAD per person. I'm sure prices have gone up since..

Please don't use that on a ship. Has a surge protector built in. https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/DCO Documents/5p/CSNCOE/Safety Alerts/USCG Marine Safety Alert 03-13 Surge Protective Devices Onboard Vessels.pdf?ver=2017-08-08-082206-293

Question for Twangster - Most Favored Lens
CGTLH replied to masterdrago's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That is the other truth, having the right tools. Shutter lag is a "female dog" when you're use to an instant "click". At the same time the right tool isn't always the latest and greatest top of the line camera. -
Question for Twangster - Most Favored Lens
CGTLH replied to masterdrago's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Very, very, very true! It isn't the camera and glass that makes the shot. Right time and place is the biggest factor. Canon world here, so no idea what S or C is [Added: brain fart moment. Shooting would have been continuous. Other words spray and pray). Mode the camera was would have been Tv on the dial (shutter priority). Not sure if I had set the ISO beforehand or the 40D supported auto ISO. (Added: Only other S and C I could think of would be focus modes. S being single shot and C being continuous. I wouldn't doubt leaving the camera on AF-Servo mode where it would be continuously adjusting focus.) Full details of the whale shot below. Maker Canon Model Canon EOS 40D ISO 400 Focal Length 375 mm ApertureFNumber f/16.0 Exposure Time 1/500 s Exposure Program shutter priority -
I've picked up one of these https://www.amazon.com/GPK-Systems-European-EU-Cord/dp/B00BR8EI84 Just make sure the device you plug in to it can support 240v. Works great with most USB hub style chargers and for laptop power bricks.
