  1. On Independence last week I was told I HAD TO book the second night in Giovanni's. They said this was because they were so limited in their seating. I argued that it wasn't what we had bought and they gave in (quickly) and let us book the second night any night I wished. By second night I literally mean the second night of the cruise. First night was already in Chops.
  2. Hilton Rose Hall? If so, I recommend you stick with your choice. It's a private bus and you'll love the resort.
  3. I've never heard anything positive about the organized excursions on Labadee. People love the Coaster and the Zip Line, albeit not the cost. But the other excursions don't seem to be too well liked.
  4. I watched a woman wipe out on a scooter right in the dock area. She went over a bump and fell off head first. Really ripped up her legs as she skidded on the pavement. Maybe I'm risk adverse, but I'll never rent a scooter there. I hear of at least one injury every cruise I've been on. I also saw a scooter go down the wrong way on a forked road. He stayed right on the two one-way forks. He chose wrong and had to skid away from an oncoming truck. Not the right time to take the road less traveled.
  5. And again, I recommend a tour to Normandy instead. http://www.bayeuxshuttle.com/cruise-port-private-tour.htm
  6. I believe most of the coaches to Le Havre was through Royal Caribbean. In this case I recommend doing it with the cruise ship, because it's a 3 hour trip. It was Bastille Day and I know people were on the bus longer than that. More like 3.5 hours. I personally think a trip to Paris from Le Havre is a waste, but if this is your only chance, then do it.
  7. Just came back from a Northern European Cities cruise and I can't recommend this tour enough! I recommend all Americans visit Normandy in their lifetime. Very moving. http://www.bayeuxshuttle.com/cruise-port-private-tour.htm Edit: This was from Le Havre.
  8. I've read that it's actually a bad idea because you can get infections. Link: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/WellnessNews/fish-pedicure-infections/story?id=16348565
  9. Either is a great time to be in Bermuda. June will be a bit hotter. So it depends how much heat you enjoy.
  10. Yes. They generally are. You can ask, but expect to be told no.
  11. It's worth a try. It might be warm enough, but likely not warm. Locals don't go in the water in April at all!
  12. We were docked on Oasis with Freedom! That's a lot of people! it was crowded, but manageable.
  13. I had the unlimited pass and went on 8-10 times in under one hour by doing it first thing in the morning.
  14. I assume you mean parking at Cape Liberty. The parking garage there is great. Not cheap, $20/day I think, but I think it's the best way to go.
  15. The Crystal & Fantasy Caves. They are great! http://www.caves.bm/ After you go there, walk 100 yards to The Swizzle Inn and enjoy a Rum Swizzle. http://www.swizzleinn.com/ Then take the bus to St. George (away from Hamilton and The Dockyard) and take the St. George Ferry back to the Dockyard. Fantastic day!
  16. I don't like St. Thomas very much. My wife always just wants to shop there. :) Don't like Nassau. I prefer Cozumel where we can have a nice beach day. I prefer Labadee to Coco Cay. Although many Eastern and Western do Labadee. Grand Cayman is beautiful. I like San Juan, but it tends to be a short stay. St. Kitts isn't the most beautiful island. I do like St. Maarten, which will often be part of a Western itinerary. So it's all about the ports. I just tend to prefer the ports that are part of the Western itineraries over the Eastern. Southern is nice too. I've only done that a couple of times. But most of those cruises go out of San Juan and flights tend to be much higher. There are some longer cruises that go out of Florida to southern itineraries.
  17. I posted a picture of a Barefoot Beach cabana here:
  18. In my experience, while most of the food is the same (plus a few items) and it LOOKS the same, it actually tastes better.
  19. Celebrity does 7-night Bermuda out of Bayonne. It spends 2.5 days there.
  20. No, I've only been to Nachi. A few times.
  21. I posted this a while back. I'd prefer Nachi, but I'd be open to either. Consider me in!
  22. We're in the US, so we mostly do Caribbean cruises. I don't generally cruise for the itineraries, but I will pass on a cruise because of itinerary. Like I really don't enjoy the Port Canaveral/Nassau/Coco Cay itinerary. Also, I prefer Western Caribbean to Eastern Caribbean, so I may choose one over the other. But I wouldn't pass on an Eastern if it fit my timeframe and wanted to experience the ship. As for European cruises, I've done one Med cruise (FANTASTIC!) and I'm embarking on an 8-night Northern European Cities cruise in 5 days. I don't get a chance to do such cruises, so they are much more exotic to me. I don't think there are cruises of only one week from UK to the Med as it generally takes much longer than that to get there. Especially assuming 3 ports along the way. One thought for you, how about a cruise that originates in Southampton and ends in Barcelona with a back-to-back of Barcelona round trip in the Med. Then fly home from Barcelona, at least you only have to fly one way. It would be much longer, two weeks plus, but if you could swing that it would be a fantastic trip!
  23. The crowds aren't as bad in the over-the-water cabanas, which is one reason I got that one. However, if you want to spend time in the water (i usually will spend 1/3-1/2 the time in the water), you'll be thrust back into the throngs of people.
