  1. Well dangit, I'm too late to answer any questions...I'll just say Have Fun!!
  2. I was 30 when we went, and was definitely one of the youngest on board. We did see a honeymoon couple who looked like they were in their 20's. The quest was a riot, even though the cruise director was on the mellow side. That 40's and 50's crowd definitely let loose, lol. Best part was watching some ladies trying to take various articles of clothing off...apparently they haven't tried that quickly in a while.
  3. No need to dress "formal" all week and eat at the buffet every night. I wasn't used to formal dining as a kid either, but that's just it, I was a kid, so if my parents told me to dress up I did, and that was the end of it, comfortable or not, vacation or not. For packing purposes I understand not wanting to pack clothes you'll only wear once. The Windjammer has some great dinner items. The other 3 days are basically no pool clothes, shorts, torn jeans, or tee shirts. I call it the "I don't give a ****" look (which is what my normal life attire is...shorts, tee shirts, and flip flops), that's what the Windjammer is for. I hate dressing up, but out of respect for my wife, other cruisers, and the cruise line who actually set the dress code, I at least wear nice pants, a button up shirt, and tie (and I comb my hair, no hat). The rest of the week is pretty much the same, I just lose the tie, or wear a polo. If packing space allows I bring a suit. Am I comfortable? Not necessarily, but I can deal with it to make people happy for a few hours. Yes, it's my vacation, but it's other people's vacation as well, and many people (myself included) were raised to dress up for dinner on a cruise. So, dressing up for 1, maybe 2 nights is doable. And how often do people really get dressed up these days? Weddings and funerals seem to be it...if we're lucky...so again, I'm ok dressing up for the MDR.
  4. I'm the same way as MrConQueso...I want to bring the house with me, and my wife tries to narrow it down to one suitcase. I use the cabinets and drawers though, I like things somewhat organized.
  5. My sister is the biggest Owl City fan. I'm looking that song up, and I'll impress her when I tell her it's on my pre-cruise play list. Thanks for the brother points! Also, are you a Harry Potter fan by chance?
  6. It's definitely odd. There seems to be an anomaly/loop hole for every rule.
  7. You may not care for it, but Molson Golden is my 2nd favorite beer!, after Yuengling.
  8. Before I read day 3... I know you said it was just "okay", but that JR burger looks amazing right now, as do the scallops, and penne/chicken...3 of my favorite foods right there (and pizza).
  9. There are 4 or 5 Zac Brown Band songs, some Jimmy Buffett, Last Ride In by Green Day, a couple Tim Armstrong solo tracks, and a few instrumentals by The O.C. Supertones.
  10. Inside cabins for the next 5 years, to recover the cost ??
  11. @JBC1, great question/topic. This is a good place to hear all sides I think. In the end you'll know what you're supposed to tip based on your experience. Have a great, relaxing cruise!
  12. How many rooms are the genies in charge of? It's 2-4 rooms per genie I thought. So if they're already making $2150, then I probably wouldn't give them more than $500 for 2ppl. If they have 3 rooms a week, at $500 tip per room, that's $1500 a week...
  13. If you're on Oasis sailing away right now...I'm being creepy and watching you... Have fun!
  14. If you like a little spice in your drink, a Texas Collins is good, from the R Bar I believe.
  15. Try to prepay your gratuities, though it might be too late since you're past final payment. If you're in a non-suite room it's $14.50 per day, per person.
  16. That's not a bad idea. I'm still hoping they send an Oasis-class your way.
  17. Welcome! Great question, it kind of gets overlooked I think, so I'm glad you brought it up. My wife and I loved Enchantment, she got us hooked. We convinced some friends, and my sister, to join us back on Enchantment less than a year later. Great time! Just relax and have a blast. One tip I didn't know our first time around is you can order as many entrees as you want in the Main Dining Room (MDR). This is great if you just love eating, or if you just want to try some different/new dishes. With a group of guys you could share and try everything! Same for appetizers and desserts. I heard a guy had 17 lobster tails one night.
  18. Definitely wanting to do the 4 over the 3. I'd love to do a B2B to make it a 7, but we'll have a 2 1/2 yr old, and a 1 year old by then...so the 4 might be all we get...In which case I'll try for a JS. Doh! Just realized 3 of you are going this year...Sweety is going next year, which is when I'm looking to book. I'll be looking for good reports!
