  1. Black socks and sandals...... That's the ticket
  2. Truly one of my favorite movies of all time ..... Best quotes ... Mr. Rogo: "You took from me, the only thing I ever loved in the whole world, My Linda" or, the ever classic Mrs. Rosen, "So I gained a few pounds, but in the water, I'm a very skinny lady", and "Manny, if I get stuck, Push" And the best of them all..... brought to you from the Christmas Tree when Rev. Scott helped Mrs. Rosen up the tree ..."Didn't mean to get so "familiar" with you there, Mrs. Rosen" Classics .... all of them
  3. If you're going to wear socks, you might as well go for the sandals ..... Make a fashion statement.
  4. And for those of us in the Mid-Atlantic, more options that are only a day trip away would definitely be a plus ..... living in Maryland, the options that won't incur an airline are Baltimore & Newark --- Having Charleston would be a a viable "drive to" option.
  5. Oooops ---- Here's a classic example of me not thinking an idea through.... I wonder if your cabin steward would be able to help you out on that one?
  6. I wonder if you picked up a few of those vacuum seal bags, if that would help. I know we use them at home when switching from warm weather to cool weather clothing and THEY ARE AMAZING IN TERMS OF HOW MUCH SPACE IS SAVED!!!!
  7. When Cuddy was AM om Navigator back in '09, he was fantastic ...... Casey Pelter as CD is also really good .... More recently, Andre Miller as AM on Grandeur was absolutely hysterical, hopefully he'll be back on when we board in September..... as for Paul Rutter, nice guy and all, but I wasn't overly impressed.
  8. Absolutely loved having a lanyard ..... my wife and I found that having them really made life so much easier, especially when going off the ship and you needed to have a place to put a 2nd ID to get back on (like a Driver's License) --- Even though I had my wallet with me, her, not having to bring her purse, really made life so much easier for her. Now she wants to get one that's a little "fancier" instead of having a cheap plastic one off of eBay Mark
  9. Just an FYI Matt --- the page with the Cruise Compasses isn't coming up..
  10. Ok, I've been on 3 cruises ..... July '07 -- Sovereign of the Seas (sister ship to Majesty) with my kids (4-nighter to Bahamas).... loved it, my daughter, who was 7 at the time had an amazing time at Adventure Ocean .... we had to drag her out of there each night) April '09 -- Navigator OTS (western Caribbean)-- my mother, sisters and myself --- no kids, although we were on during Spring Break ... crazy thing though, it didn't seem overrun by the kids on board. Lot's to do, casino was very good to me. Would like to get my wife of today on Navigator .... the only real issue is the added expense of getting from Maryland to Miami. Sept. '16 -- Grandeur OTS -- 5-nighter to Bermuda (my wife's first cruise) out of Baltimore...... By far my favorite, not very many kids, not overwhelming at all ..... Was able to decompress like never before....to the point we have the exact same cruise booked this coming September, AND a 7-nighter BACK to Bermuda on Grandeur next October. At our age, relaxation is much more important than activities..... We loved how we really got to know the crew and our fellow passengers.....Vision Class is by far my favorite.
  11. That's a loaded question..... There are many factors... Are there any kids? Ages? Are you looking for activities or are just looking to relax? There are those that like the bigger ships with all the bells & whistles and others who love the smaller ships because they have more of a "warm & fuzzy" feeling when it comes to getting to know everyone on board.
  12. That would be amazing .... I also wonder if having smaller ships, would it open up opportunities to be able to visit ports that can't accommodate the bigger ships.... both domestic & abroad? (For example, the reason Empress was brought back in regards to Cuba)
  13. My wife and I did the couples massage last September .... Absolutely incredible ..... Worth every penny. How I didn't fall asleep is beyond me.
  14. I have family that live in Central Florida ..... I've flown MANY times between BWI & MCO and NEVER had any sort of an issue.
  15. Personally, I LOVE Southwest .... The fact that Baltimore is a hub makes it so easy to get a non-stop flight to almost anywhere.
  16. I am so glad you said this Kayla, we'll be on Grandeur for Halloween 2018 - The cruise itself sold us (7-nighter to Bermuda), but when it occurred to us that we'd be on for Halloween, that added that little something special that we didn't have to pay extra for.
  17. I wish they had Scrapple .... just sayin ..... But at least I can still get my triangle hash browns ....
  18. Yeah, I would definitely agree .... When I heard it, I thought for sure my wife would be bothered .... quite the opposite reaction on her part .... I would assume, the further away you get away from the Centrum, the quieter it will get, or, you'll get noise from elsewhere, like the casino..... My initial attempt when I booked the room was to make sure I had cabins above & below me, I figured that would minimize the noise.... we're comfortable with #3581, that's why we booked it again, we know what we have, no surprises, but as we book other ships, I'll try to do a better job at making sure cabins are above/below me. ....
  19. When we were on Grandeur, we were in #3581 - inside cabin (or as Tyna puts it, our broom closet) -- which, I didn't realize at the time of booking, puts us almost directly under the R Bar, maybe even a little further closer to being under the Centrum ... in all honesty, we heard a little bit of the music playing above us, but not enough to be disturbing, plus, for the most part, we were not in the cabin for most of the evening anyhow. Let me put it this way.... could we hear anything? Yes --- but we also have the same cabin booked for the next two Grandeur cruises, so that should tell you something as to whether it bothered us or not. Mark
  20. It would be interesting to add menu options, or complete Dining Options that are more localized based upon where the ship is coming from ... For Example .... For Grandeur out of Baltimore --- a good "Maryland Style" Seafood Restaurant .... Plenty of Blue Crabs, Crab Cakes, etc.... use a local (Baltimore) supplier, or even better, local restaurant, such as Phillips to bring the flavor of the Chesapeake on the ship .... Being a native, I find myself bringing a container of Old Bay on board .... It goes good on EVERYTHING!!! Just a thought.
  21. You just made me laugh out loud .... which really isn't a good thing after I take a drink of coffee
  22. Perfectly said .... in the case of Baltimore, a new port would have to go south of Annapolis, which is still relatively rural the further south you go.
  23. Perfect for you to do "Research" on a Vision Class ship
  24. Just booked our next one ... Grandeur - 10/25/18
  25. If they would've thrown that 7-nighter in September..... it'd be a no-brainer.... Update -- we caved in. After we saw the actual itinerary, we booked it. Plus, the added bonus of Halloween falling on the final sea day helped to sway our decision. Here's the itinerary. Oct. 25 - Leave Baltimore Oct. 26 - Sea Day Oct. 27 - Arrive in Bermuda at 4:00 pm Oct. 28 - In Bermuda Oct. 29 - Leave Bermuda at 5:00 pm Oct. 30 - Sea Day Oct. 31 - Halloween at Sea Nov. 1 - Go Home
