  1. Is it the best cruise ship in the line? Absolutely it is not, but as others have pointed out it is your first cruise, it is a better ship than what many other lines offer, and it is really a big ship compared to most cruise ships even a few years ago. You are on a short cruise and will find lots to do, so I believe you will like it. Also it is much more a true ship than the current super liners, it has open decks and areas to walk around, and classic ship lines. And again as others have said..... It's a Cruise... relax and enjoy.....
  2. Hey Marc your card made it to the google image search https://www.google.com.ph/search?q=royal+caribbean+door+cards&newwindow=1&espv=2&biw=1288&bih=707&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjSz4n9k9nMAhVR6WMKHQzaDpoQ_AUIBigB#newwindow=1&tbm=isch&q=royal+caribbean+gold+seapass+card&imgrc=cd3QP76ZJ345BM%3A Also notice just his first name on the card? Tying to imply maybe that we treat our suite guests like family? Great if you are a suite guest but can make the common normal guest feel unwanted or welcome. Like the third class Titanic passengers held back out of the first class section as the ship sank.
  3. It is really funny how people put value on the color of a card. I remember years ago it was having a American Express Gold Card, that was the in card. And now airlines, cruises, and credit providers all are offering colored cards. The color of the card is really meaningless. I had a AMEX Gold Card when I was 18, did that really mean anything? And now Gold is not good enough, AMEX ran through the metal cards, gold, platinum, etc, and now they are back to basic understated black. I do not care what color my room key is, I really just care about getting services.
  4. Welcome to life dealing with travel and TSA. It is only going to get worst, do not see them making improvements. But still much better than many other parts of the world.
  5. Matt spends endless hours putting up great information. Most questions are already within the site. Thank you Matt. http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/07/24/everything-you-wanted-know-about-royal-caribbeans-pools http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/11/16/everything-about-royal-caribbeans-solariumhttp://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/11/16/everything-about-royal-caribbeans-solarium
  6. No reason to book through Royal Singapore has first class transportation at the terminal door. Both Taxi, and Limousines, also the MRT is available but harder to use with luggage.
  7. Yes the adult pool area is covered, the general main pool is open.
  8. I'm not surprised by the pictures or the post. It is Asia and what is considered unacceptable in the United States is just normal life here. Even simple things from everyday life. I'm sure Royal ordered enough hand sanitize to take care of the whole ship. But it was sitting in transport or customs, or in the warehouse and not delivered yet. Royal does try but you will never get the same standards on a cruise from Asia as you get on a Miami cruise. I was in a very nice hotel restaurant (Worldwide Hotel Chain) last night here in the Philippines, and a Greco Lizard about 5" long ran across the wall.... No reaction from anyone in the place, it was nothing. Vs have this happen in the United States and the Board of Heath would have been doing a inspection and clients would be demanding refunds. So while Royal should do a better job and is trying to do so you really need to understand is they are trying to apply first World Standards in the Third World.
  9. I believe it also depends upon the port. We did a boarding in Hong Kong last Summer at the smaller Star Cruises terminal. It was by far the worst boarding I have ever seen. No one got anything, open cattle call pushing and rushing the line. Several passengers hurt and I was told one taken to the hospital. I do not believe anything like this could happen in a US port but some ports are much better than others.
  10. I thought the n/c bridge tour was only offered if C & A Member Diamond Plus or higher?
  11. -- not sure if they've upgraded to digital by now. Everything is digital now.
  12. From the cruise lines side I can see how they would not want drones flying around the ship. It could be a major safety issue. The drone could fly into something, someone, or on the security side someone could use a drone to see things they should not. Not just looking into cabins, but ships security. And since they are radio controlled that to could be a issue. Private communication systems (except cell phones) are not allowed on cruise ships. While I do not think the OP had any negative plans it just seems to be a bad idea.
  13. Sorry to hear this but I not say that I am surprised by your post. I have not used the service but I have seen over the last several years Royal changing its focus and direction. It seems that Royal is starting to believe that they can be all things to all people. Just build the biggest ships with the most WOW (bad joke) and you do not need to be concerned with smaller details like customer service, staff training, etc. I hope Royal can see that they need to take a strong look at how they are doing business. Lets face facts this has not been a good year for Royal even with two great new ships coming online. Other lines would kill just to have one and they have two.... But big ships show all the small staff problems ten fold.
  14. I wonder if Mario Salcedo is held to these same standards? With 6000 nights already on Royal and cruises book out for three years. Does he show up with 20 cases of wine and say store this for me? He has more time on many Royal ships than the current Captains on those ships.
  15. It is a deal in a couple of ways, first as has been said a low deposit. But more important a credit to your on board cruise account for the same amount as the required deposit. So lets say you owed Royal $2000 in that account and you book three cruises with a $500 dollar deposit each. They would charge your credit card $1500 dollars, but your on board account due would be only $500 dollars. So really the deposits are free to you. If you purchase no cruises your credit card would still be charged your $2000 dollar account balance. Bottom line if you have spent money on the cruise the deposits cost you nothing in addition to that money. The only real negative is if you cancel the cruise no refund of deposit. This program allows passengers to have several future cruises booked with no money out of pocket until final payment date.
  16. Should be no problem as WAAAYTOOO already said, and told you how to get a private table. But if for any reason that does not work, just talk to the officer in charge of the main dinning room on the first night and he /she will correct. The first night is open time and seating, you can go anytime and they ask you if you want to be alone or with a group.
  17. Looks like if you want to use a drone you will need to stay off Royal. But if you did bring I do not believe you would loose it. It is not like bring illegal drugs on the ship, drone ownership is not prohibited under US law, use of them is in many cases. SO I believe Royal would keep until the cruise is over and then return. I am not telling you to try to take on the ship only that I do not believe you would loose it.
  18. You can book now and then if price goes down cancel and book again. But you should also check the cruise yourself without the agent involved and also check on the US site to see the price difference if any. The more information you have the better choices you can make. This year many cruises are offered with AU on several ships so shop and look around at all the royal choices.
  19. The Loyalty Ambassador is the person with the information here. But it also depends upon what the points will do to your standing. If it will not earn you the next level or would only get you from Gold to Platinum, I do not think they will do anything. But if you will hit one of the higher levels the Ambassador will be involved.
  20. Photoshop is your best choice at this point...... Or do you have a few months to go cruising, solo is better for C & A . ;)
  21. With us it is the opposite, the photographers see Reynaline and they know it is 5 to 10 picture time. For some reason I still do not 100% understand Filipinos love photos, good photos bad photos, any photos. So I know just add $300 dollars to any cruise for her photo package. At least because of the total number of pictures the per unit price looks great.
  22. The rule is 2 bottles per cabin per cruise. If you search the blog you will find several threads already addressed this issue. One way some members have got extra bottles for the second cruise is to have other people you meet on the first cruise purchase them. They will be given these purchases on the last night of their cruise, the night before the start of your second cruise.
  23. Everyone needs to understand that C & A is not design to give away stuff. It is a marketing tool that the company uses. The goal is to keep customers and get more money form us. Once the ships are at 100% capacity the need to offer extras goes down. The more people that make it in C & A and use benefits that cost the company dollars out of pocket, the closer Royal will look at making changes to the program. It is just marketing.
  24. If you do not get a package you are not limited to just water. From Matt's Information: Royal Caribbean provides all its guests on all its cruise ships a few different drinks throughout the day that are included in your cruise fare. These drinks include tap water milk tea coffee (regular and decaf) lemonade iced tea flavored waters juices (at breakfast and not fresh squeezed) Hot chocolate (via instant packets)
