I also am a little confused as you got her the soda package last time and knows what she drinks. I don't think you should focus on the price but the value. Do you see value in paying $80 for her to have all the juice options?

I see value in her being able to get what she wants to drink and not being limited to certain options. My questions may have been misleading because I'm not worried about the cost, I was more so asking because if there was an option to get any kind of drink a la carte, I'd imagine it probably would be cheaper to do that over the course of seven days versus getting the package.

  2. My daughter was 3 years old when she went on Harmony last year, and we bought her a soda package. She loved the non-soda options that were available in the Freestyle machines. She'll be 4 years old when we go on Wonder next month. I've heard Matt says in Q&A sessions on YouTube that he doesn't recommend getting the soda package for children because you likely aren't going to get your money's worth out of it.

I would imagine he probably is right as I have a hard time imagining my daughter drinking seventy dollars worth of Hi-C. However, my questions is this - if we do not get her a soda package, she won't have access to the Freestyle machine, right? If that's the case, what is she limited to?

I'd appreciate help from anyone who has been in a similar situation or may have more understanding on this.

Just so you know that the minimum age is 4 years old for the cabanas.

Is this actually enforced (other than not being able to book the excursion for that guest)? I'll have a 5-year-old and 2-year-old with me next year on Icon and we really were hoping to get a cabana.

This excursion has been closed since before Covid. This is why their website gives you a 404 error when attempting to buy tickets. For some reason, Royal Caribbean still lets you purchase tickets as an excursion. Then, when you get closer to your cruise date, (1-2 weeks away) you’ll get an email saying the excursion has been cancelled and to expect a refund. Aug ‘23

This is interesting because if you look at the most recent Google reviews, there are people saying that it is open.

@Jeremy L. perhaps you were repricing as they were canceling the excursion? It was listed for my 10/31 cruise, and now it is also no longer showing up. If I was Royal, I would have pulled them all when they first got notice that the water park would not be open yet too. I'm sure RC doesn't want to take the blame for canceling a bunch of excursions last minute.

The water park is completely unresponsive on Facebook, and I'm willing to bet they won't have a firm reopen date until they are purely doing cosmetic work. Contractors here are on their own timeline...add a touch of island time to that and the uncertainty increases exponentially.

Thanks for the insight. If the booking does come back up I'm going to be a little salty if I can't get it at the same price. I had already rebooked it once because the price had dropped.

  6. Alright, so I'm sailing Wonder on October 22 this year. I had this waterpark booked. However, I noticed yesterday that the price went down and I could save $38 for the three of us. I canceled my excursion, and come to find out that this excursion isn't even showing on the cruise planner anymore. I went to my order history on the cruise planner and it says sold out. I contacted guest services and they said I will have to wait until I'm onboard to book or for other people to cancel. Has anyone ever had this happen before? I really don't understand how it can be sold out after I just canceled. It should've freed up three spots.

  7. Hello,

In October, I will be on Wonder of the Seas with my wife and oldest daughter. Upon booking, we chose the 5:30pm dining time in the main dining room. We have always eaten in the main dining room for dinner. However, on this cruise, we want to try a few different things, such as Hooked, Chops Grille, and Coastal Kitchen since we have a crown loft suite. My question is this: if we know we are not going to be eating in the main dining room for at least 3 of the 7 nights (likely even more), should I change our dining time to 'my time dining' out of courtesy so we don't have a table reserved for us that's not being used, and out of respect for the wait staff?

Thanks for any help on this.
