  1. Dressed up but not formal, worked for us in April on the Oasis. It all felt very grand but we were all just dressy not formal.
  2. Cake is awesome! The water looks very real! How we love the Oasis! We did our 43rd anniversary this past April on it and have booked next April for the 44th. We also booked her sister ship Allure for our 45th! It's the gift we decided to give ourselves each annniversary as a reward for putting up with each other for so long! :-D
  3. Do you choose a TA close to you....that someone locally recommends or do you just use one in the same country? I live in VT so my local pickings for a TA are likely going to be slimmer than most.
  4. I've not traveled much and have never used a TA. I enjoy getting on the RC cruise planner and making payments, reservations etc on a snowy afternoon in my home. So if you use at TA, must you pay for everything upfront and do you still get to look at your cruise on the RC cruise planner and make dinner reservations when they open up or does everything have to be done by calling the TA and paid up by their timetable rather than RC's timetable?
  5. I cruise in April 2017 and it won't let me book internet yet. Is that normal or is it because I have on board credit and one message in red says you cruise or cruise tour reservations can only be made by calling a certain number? Or does that just refer to changes made on the original reservation? If offers some excursions I can purchase now but no dining or internet options can be made at this time.
  6. What shuttle do you use to get back to the airport when you get off the ship in Port Canaveral? Did you arrange it thru RC?
  7. So I called and the rep checked my reservation and assured me it's on and designated amount for covering tips. (but probably can be used for something else) But he said you don't necessarily see your on board credits on line. But it is there for sure for my upcoming cruise. Go figure! Yes, Thank you Michelle--got your message after I talked to rep. Next time I will go through an agent. Then they can answer all my worries :-D
  8. Yes, we got $100 on board credit to wash the $100 deposit at time of booking and 190.00 towards the next cruises' tips or whatever we wanted to use it for. I see it listed on my booking paperwork above the cancellation but don't see it online. Better call I guess.
  9. Maybe this has been answered before so forgive me ahead of time but I was given an on board credit when I booked our next cruise while on the current cruise. When I go online, I see my payments but don't see where to find the on board credit. Only thing that shows is my original paperwork when I booked. Will I see it before the cruise or only when I get on the actual ship? I like to have everything cleared up before I embark and don't want to stand in the CS line on the ship to sort it out if it doesn't appear on our account when we board.
  10. It sounds fabulous! So much so, I went online to look at it. A normal ocean view balcony of $1900 cruise for two jumps to over $3000 starting for as Sea Class Junior Suite (no Genie, no free internet, no specialty restaurants of course, except Coastal) ....No Genie at Sky level either. So you go to Star and the cruise jumps to at least $9400 for two. At that level, forgive me, but free internet, specialty restaurants, drinks and Genie should be included. There should be great incentives to pay 4 times the price of an ocean balcony room. That all said, yes, it sounds like so much fun. Definitely only for a privileged or serious saving few. At my level I have to put my jealousy aside and say I would rather cruise more and save less. :-D
  11. Yes, I have a Samsung Galaxy. My son was so funny. He texted me "I thought you said you couldn't receive texts??" haha I guess I lied. But seriously, with Voom the messaging was seamless!
  12. I loved Voom on the Oasis! Posting pictures on my FB via my smart phone in airplane mode , while I sit on the deck watching the water and sipping my frosty drink. Some distant relative died while I was on board and I had immediate messaging available. Not even sure how,but I also got my text from my son about the situation. I swear I never took my phone out of airplane mode but my messaging capability was the same as if I were home. Loved posting Instagram pictures to journal our cruise also!
  13. On our first cruise this April we flew down to FLL the day before with carryons that had essential stuff we could not live without if our main luggage got lost. (Such as one formal outfit, one bathing suit, one casual outfit, all meds etc.)Then when all our luggage did arrive with us I repacked one carry on of valuables, bathing suits, evening clothes for that night. When our hotel shuttle got us to the ship we handed over all the bags to the porter except that one first day bag which I kept. By the way, it was a rolling bag of carryon size with spinner wheels. Can't say enough about trading in your old luggage and getting luggage with spinner wheels. Rather than dragging your luggage with one way wheels, you walk that carry on!
  14. Thanks--finally got her. She said I likely didn't log out of one place before going back in. I just got an Ipad and probably did it myself. We shall see! Waiting a few minutes. :-( Update....yes the message cleared. So make sure you log out of Cruise planner before you go to another device and tried to look at your cruise again.
  15. Has anyone ever seen their future cruise moved from upcoming to held status? As I tried to go to Cruise planner, it said it is currently being modified, please try back later. Any idea what that means? I'm on CS hold now to try and find out what that is all about. But thought maybe someone here is familiar with that status. Update..now the 2018 cruise says it's being modified also. What does that mean??
  16. We bought a silver inexpensive little ring on our Anniversary this April at Majesty Jewelers in St Maarten. One stone has already dropped out. I'm thankful it didn't cost very much!
  17. Thanks....been searching my Cruise Compass but don't see it. Of course, it may be my old eyes! I will certainly ask about it next cruise.
  18. Yes, I what I was asking is where did you see Drink of the Day advertised? Never noticed it mentioned on our recent cruise on the Oasis.
  19. Thanks! We just got off a cruise and never saw a drink of the day advertised. Where would that have been seen?
  20. For some reason our tickets came up TSA PRE so we got in the short line and processed quickly. But on the way home from our cruise, we were on the tarmack at least an extra hour waiting for luggage that had not yet arrived from TSA. I had never seen a plane wait for luggage. When we got off the plane, our luggage was the first to go on the belt , so we wondered if ours were some of the luggage that held up the second leg of our flight home.
  21. My waiter told me on a 7 day cruise, day 2 is always formal. I went to the Cruise Compass to find the same route from a past cruise and it showed me what to probably expect on mine, and it turned out to be correct for my cruise date also.
  22. When I was on the Oasis , we decided not to sign up for it, and regretted that decision when we saw a group slink by in their awesome 20's clothing. I've been online since, googling for that type clothing and there's lots out there! Fun :-D Can't wait to hear more about it.
  23. As a balcony person, I certainly would not want a drone flying by my window. :-D
