Haha! It started out innocent enough until she needed 2 more people to fill up her van! They already drive on the wrong side of the road but she proceeded to barrel onto the sidewalk of the wrong-wrong side of the road into oncoming maniac traffic. Yelling "Atlantis Paradise Island"! Finally I told my wife to hand me $10 to cover the 2 spots so we could get outta the beeping horns and near misses. I was sitting shotgun and she called me her "co pilot". I can't help to wonder if co-pilot equates to co-conspirator for the potential vehicular homocide that took place moments later before the bridge? Oh well, that was a crazy ride!!! The best part is Big Mamas ability to continue on without the slightest interruption of her Bahamian History lecture as she is slamming into cars. This all happened before we even reached the toll plaza on the far side of the bridge. I hope a fellow forum member was in this van with us or knows of "big mama"!

She told us all the "he should have asked to move into her lane". We then clipped another cab on the bridge to paradise island and ripped the mirror off her van. I gave her a 20.00 tip & told her to get another mirror. Watch out for big mama and her big white van with 1 mirror.

As stated above, I do recall ordering bottles to the stateroom for a "fee". Can anyone confirm?

@MNorris: the very first thing my entire family does when we get on the ship is go to Park Cafe for the amazing roast beef sandwiches! I seriously think they are the single best thing RC has to offer.

As a rule (as others have mentioned) the aft cabins usually have larger balconies. Of special note are the aft corner balconies on the Radiance class. Very nice.
 
Negatives ? Often a fair hike to get to the back of the ship and some have mentioned soot on their balconies due to stacks emissions. We are currently on board Harmony and have friends in a Sky Loft suite on deck 17. He told us the in the mornings the balcony is covered with a layer of soot. Yuk.
 
I have found the aft balconies on the Voyager and Freedom classes to be the least attractive due to the structural steel surrounding the aft (obstructs the view) plus a fairly large fantail extension that removes you somewhat from the water.
 
I love a lounger on my balcony (sitting on one right now, writing this !) so I Love the aft suites. As a rule, even the hump balconies on the side rarely have room for 2 loungers - even some of the Grand Suites ! So I am willing to make the trek to the rear (and trust me, on the O Class, it IS a hike !) in return for the large balcony and loungers.

Harbor Beach Marriot is closer to the many restaurants located along the A1A beachfront. You can take a short walk North on A1A and find an abundance of choices or just eat at the hotel (pool & atmosphere amazing by the way at this hotel).

Fort Lauderdale to replace Allure of the seas. It makes sense

Uber. I live here & it's an easy & cost effective way to get around Fort Lauderdale. Forget the hassle of renting a car.

My advice is to pick the ship & worry less about the stops. The majority of the Caribbean is if you have seen one island you have seen them all. The Caribbean in its entirety is beautiful & sunny w/ amazing beaches and plenty to do. If I were you, I would sail on either Allure or Harmony of the seas out of Fort Lauderdale. You simply cannot go wrong with those two ships regardless of where they sail.

So I have Harmony of the seas booked twice in 2017. March we are booked in a balcony room and Thanksgiving 2017 we have a crown loft suite. Both rooms were booked under my casino VIP rate. My question is if my casino play goes exceptionally well in March can I call the VIP host and get an additional discount on the crown loft suite for Thanksgiving?

First things first, March is Spring Break and the pricing anywhere near the beach including the 17th street corridor is going to be abnormally high. If you can stomach the price I recommend the convienence of the Embassy Suites or Hilton Marina (both located minutes from the port as well as dining and Fort Lauderdale Beach).

I have had lots of luck playing blackjack and Max Bet on various random machines. I too am not looking for an IRS red flag so I will say that I have won mucho,mucho,mucho,mucho,mucho dinero and have been treated very nicely by the casino hosts......

Thanks for the info. I will probably end up going the passport route since we live in Fort Lauderdale and cruise often.

My wife & I are traveling on Harmony in March 2017 with our two children and I wanted to know if our 3 year old needed a passport or just a birth certificate since it's a closed loop cruise. Any ideas?

Out of curiosity does anyone know if the ships carry Cuban cigars at either Boleros or any other humidor locations? I have sailed many times but I always brought my own cigars to smoke. Since the ships fly foreign flags is there a loophole where they would be available? PS: I know better than to buy a "Cuban" cigar from the street vendors in the Caribbean......

The email is basically the suite concierge introducing him or herself to you as well as an explanation of the various benefits you will enjoy as a suite guest. Enjoy your cruise, we sailed a grand suite a couple cruises ago and will never go back to a regular stateroom!!

And don't forget the casino!
