  1. If you don’t Uber to La Bamba and you like Greek or Italian food check out Cafe Martorano, Greek Islands Taverna or Cafe Vico. You cant go wrong.
  2. We stayed there in late April so it’s possible. It’s not “dated”, I should have been more clear. I am comparing to the new titans in town with new construction at four seasons and others that take away from the older legacy properties. The hotel is great, no issues other than the new norm service standards that are lower across the board (everywhere!!). Enjoy
  3. Depends on the time of year because during season the prices for mid range hotels are four seasons prices. If you are planning for March (spring break) then you should book asap before all the choice hotels are unavailable.
  4. Nice hotel if you can get it at a decent rate. We have stayed in the presidential suite over a weekend and this is a great room for a large family (2 levels w/ large bedroom and bathroom upstairs & 2 BR downstairs). The hotel is slightly aged compared to the other choices along the beach but has a nice pool deck with some great views of FLB.
  5. I really dislike this stop, however, there is a catamaran snorkeling excursion that was fun and we had a good time (kids) at Blue Lagoon minus the tourist prices for the local beer (which is not great beer anyway IMHO). The Atlantis water park excursion is a huge rip off and unless you are Army Infantry, the walk(s) back and forth from the various pools will basically flat line you. Good luck. I normally take a cab to Atlantis or Baha Mar and gamble while the wife and kids hang out on the ship. Nassau rating IMHO a 2.999/10.00 which equates to a crime ridden wasteland with one or two positives but everyone has an opinion.
  6. Probably not the best place to “wing it” unless you know what you are getting into.
  7. Yep, very true. On freedom class or others w/ Viking crown lounge it’s actually a decent place to spend some time. The lounge that was formally known as the diamond lounge on most Oasis class ships is basically a hell hole with a fancy coffee machine. Total waste of space.
  8. The 4 drinks per day are the best perk in the industry. Forget about the lowly “crown lounge”. I would rather be in the engine room as well provided I could bring a beverage!
  9. I think they could put a bandaid on the situation by adding another daily drink voucher for D and D+. Problem solved.
  10. I think the world stops spinning when a scooter riding Pinnacle guest boards any ship. The sense of entitlement is completely out of hand.
  11. There’s always the pin as well. I am certain to get flamed for saying this but the pin is obnoxious. I wouldn’t be caught dead with that Pinnacle pin on. I don’t want that kind of attention.
  12. I would certainly call their bluff, nobody is checking cards at the door. If the snacks are a deal breaker then just walk right in like you own the place.
  13. It’s just a couple hours per night and you still get the Diamond drinks so what’s the big deal? IMHO the Diamond/Crown lounge is pretty crappy anyway. I will trade you my D+ status for 1/2 of your drink vouchers per day and you can enjoy happy hour in that place. Anyone, anyone?
  14. Agree probably voyager class for a weekend.
  15. I agree, the smaller ships are boring once you have been spoiled on Freedom or Oasis class.
  16. Best music hall in the fleet by a mile! Cafe 270 is better than park cafe and the seaplex with playmakers is a game changer.
  17. Wonder>Symphony>Oasis>Harmony>Allure It’s pretty easy when you have 5 of the greatest ships ever in the same class. RC hit a home run with Oasis class!
  18. The Oasis class ships don’t seem crowded at all for the most part. The exception is always going to be the elevators and the buffet regardless of the size of the ship. If you are able bodied then the stairs are always an option. As for service, that’s hit or miss depending on the ship and the venue. I’ve had entire cruises with exceptional service across the board and others that were pretty bad. In late 2023 it’s all about managing expectations. If you pick apart every aspect of your cruise regarding service, food quality (and the list goes on) you will find plenty of flaws and room for improvement. IMHO time is better spent focusing on the fact that you are fortunate enough to have the ability to afford a vacation that many families are not able to take.
  19. Book early, very early. Regardless, things will only get more expensive with the demand soaring. If you think it’s any better to book a land based vacation, think again. Good luck.
  20. This one I personally don’t understand. The ship takes you to the island of Cozumel with excellent beaches, great diving and snorkeling, food and beach clubs and you go out of your way to take a puke ferry back to the mainland? Why???????
  21. Sorry, that’s just my opinion. Congrats on being a cancer survivor.
  22. Agree, especially in St Maarten. The beach by the downtown area within walking distance of the ship is great (especially with a bucket of beer from Big Baastards beach bar on Front Street)!
  23. Take a cab next time directly to Maho and spend some time at the Sunset bar. This is the way to do Maho beach.
