  1. I want to watch her from the rock jetty.
  2. Thanksgiving on a cruise ship is amazing IMHO. We have been sailing the holiday for the past decade. We will miss 2016 because our newborn is too young to sail but look forward to Harmony for Thanksgiving 2017!
  3. How is this person out $500? What am I missing? The deposit is refundable!
  4. Call me CrAzzZy here but why don't you do the following?: 1. Call RC and get your deposit refunded. 2. Call back RC and book the cruise you meant to book......
  5. Blackjack, roulette, Carribean stud poker, craps. I know I'm missing some
  6. Haha. Yeah prob not the best idea, Matt. The Port is literally my backyard so I will grab a coffee & roll out. Can't wait to sail on her in March! Are you headed this way to go out on the Bahamas cruise???
  7. Cool. I will check the current position Fri PM and see if they update the time for Sat AM.
  8. I'm thinking about heading out to the rock jetty on the N side of the inlet next to POTA building. Any locals planning on heading out 11/5 07:00 for her arrival?
  9. Are you referring to the coastal kitchen & suite lounge?
  10. I agree w/ Matt, even though I have the ability to pay the balance at booking it is best to pay the deposit only & set reminder in phone to pay off balance on due date. If there is a price change it's better to have RC adjust instead of you waiting on your refund. It's just cleaner.
  11. Wow thanks so much for the good info! I did notice something interesting that is along the lines of what your referring to with the extra discount. When I booked the March cruise I received the "casino rate" + $1,250.00 cash applied to the cruise based on my play about (5) months ago on Brillience of the seas. I am wondering if I play presumably at the same level in March and earn the $1250 again if I can use it as casino cash in Nov to avoid re-booking the cruise and applying the $1250 to the fare? Why on earth does RC keep us in the dark? Wouldn't it be easier for them to publish the rules?
  12. So I have Harmony of the seas booked twice in 2017. March we are booked in a balcony room and Thanksgiving 2017 we have a crown loft suite. Both rooms were booked under my casino VIP rate. My question is if my casino play goes exceptionally well in March can I call the VIP host and get an additional discount on the crown loft suite for Thanksgiving?
  13. Mel- it's a nice perk for sure. Not only do u get complimentary drinks but also hot & cold assorted snacks before dinner. It's a nice place to relax before dinner. I believe the most underrated perk is on departure day. You simply go to the lounge & the concierge host escorts the group off the ship. No lines and no hassle.
  14. Take an Uber to the rustic inn in Fort Lauderdale for dinner and get the simply awesome and amazing garlic crabs. You will thank me later!
  15. Uber is the best way from Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami. The cabs are dirty, unreliable and more expensive then Uber. Make sure you time rush hour traffic into your planning. I don't know of any other way besides some kind of a small bus charter that would be cheaper.
  16. Try to stay out of Miami. Yes, Miami is sexy and the clubs/bars/dining is fantastic but beyond that it's a tourist trap (especially South Beach). I am a South FL local and can tell you the traffic is horrific in Miami and crime is on the rise in South Beach. My suggestion would be like others on this thread, check out Key West (the drive down is fantastic and Key West is an amazing place) or the theme parks in Orlando. Another option is to get a hotel in Fort Lauderdale which happens to have an abundance of nightlife, beautiful beaches and hotels and cheaper! Fort Lauderdale is a 30 minute drive from Port of Miami. Do yourself a favor and stay out of Miami (I forgot to mention ZIKA).
  17. ^^ most of the "Cuban cigars" you will find in the ports are about as Cuban as the late Sadaam Hussien. It's mostly a tourist trap where they put bogus labels on crappy cigars. Never buy a "Cuban" cigar (or a box even worse) off a street peddler under a makeshift tent in Ocho Rios
  18. I recently cruised and take back what I mentioned above about the $50.00 limit. I was playing roulette next to a guy that was averaging $1000.00 per spin of the roulette wheel. I was talking with him and he said the casino Royale comps his entire trip and hands him $5000.00 in casino cash (which I saw) when he walks into the casino. I witnessed on several occasions wins in the $3000-$4000 range. Nice tips to the dealer being thrown around as well.
  19. Park at Port Everglades. It's worth the extra $$ to jump right in your car and go.
  20. Prob not. There are guidelines and criteria to meet in order to gain entry to the club Royale. I personally play a healthy mix of slots, roulette & blackjack. I personally think that as WAAAYTOOO described it was the amount of money I was willing to change to chips at the roulette table that got the initial attention. I will bring 1000-2000 to the table and bet roughly $100-150 per spin (putting a giant stack on the number 17) and can sometimes win a large amount of $$. As the beers keep coming my bets get significantly higher and it either goes really well or really not so well. In any case, it's fun!!!
  21. @ WAAAYTOOO Thanks for the info! I have yet to get one of these certificates but I will make it my mission in life to get one on our next cruise. @arebee- I feel pretty good about dumping $$ in the RC casinos. At least the club treats you right with free drinks and food comps as well as these great deals on cruises (often suites). I don't even bother gambling in land based casinos anymore, I would rather bet the ranch for a loft suite on the harmony!
  22. @WAAAYTOOO I am really confused about the FCC's. I am pretty new to the CR VIP thing and I don't know that I've been handed one of these certificates. Are you referencing the mailers that I receive every other week saying "complimentary stateroom & casino cash, free drinks in casino for X ship on X date"? If so, how do I take this and apply to anything? Mine does not seem to be specific to my player number but rather a generic invite. Is this something that host hands you on the ship? So confused. You are such a great source of CR knowledge and I thank you in advance for any advice.
  23. @Jeff this sounds like a nightmare. About 1.5 hours into the trip your gonna wanna jump off the moving train and hitchhike your way South. Good luck.
