  1. We went on this tour on the Symphony of the Seas. It was offered on our sea day. We have been on a few cruises, on different cruise lines, and thought this would be an interesting couple of hours, and it was At each stop on the tour a crew member in that area speaks to you about their job and the operations of their department. We got tours of the dining room, kitchen, bakery, freezers/storage, internal corridors, engineering, laundry and the bridge. It was an interesting behind the scenes look at how things operate. I liked that someone from each specific department spoke to us as they were able to give lots of insight and answer any questions. If you choose to do this tour, please follow the instructions and wear long pants and closed toe flat shoes. They will not let you participate if you don’t. This policy is made very clear in the information you get with your tickets, and they even call your room the day before to remind you. We still had 2 people show up in shorts. Luckily they ran to their rooms and changed before the tour started, but it would be very disappointing to miss if you weren’t as quick (they won’t wait for you as everything is setup for a certain time).
  2. We went on this excursion on our Marseille, France day. A bus picked us up from the port and drove us to Aix-en-Provence. I’m not sure if we had the normal bus because the tour guide did not have any audio system. Instead she walked up & down the bus aisle giving us information. Pretty sure we missed a lot of it and seemed a little stressful for the guide. Once we arrived we began our walking tour. It started off okay, but got very boring. It was all about architecture, but was mostly “pretty” “beautiful” “classic” and “baroque.” I’m not sure if it was a language barrier issue, but it wasn’t very informative. It would have been great to be given the meeting point right at the beginning of the tour so that we could explore on our own. We did have some time to do that at the end, but we would have enjoyed it more to skip the tour part. I would recommend visiting Aix-en-Provence, but not this tour.
  3. When I was researching our cruise I couldn’t find any information on this excursion, so thought I would post a review as it may help someone else. We are a family of 4 (kids are 17 & 20) and we chose this excursion on our Naples port day. This ended up being our favourite excursion of the cruise. We were met by our tour guide Pasquale and walked over to the ferry terminal. There were less than 20 people in our group. We were given our tickets to the high speed ferry and shown where the terminal washrooms were. We waited about 30 minutes for the ferry and embarked as a group. I believe the ferry ride was about 45 minutes, but I slept so not entirely sure. We were the first stop. Once we arrived at Procida Island our guide explained we would first tour the island by taxi and then would have a walking tour. The taxis all stopped at certain points on the island for photos and some information from Pasquale. We then began our walking tour of the island. It was a hot day and there is a lot of climbing, uneven walkways and stairs, so you should be prepared for this. We love to walk so thought it was great. Nice breezes and cool in the shade. Pasquale was wonderful. Very informative and happy to answer questions. We had a difficult family on our tour and he handled them with grace & kindness. At the conclusion of the organized tour you have free time to shop, explore or eat (it was about 11:30am and we had until 1:30pm). The tour ends back at the port and the meeting point & time are communicated clearly. We met back at an outdoor patio where we were given a cold drink of our choice and a delicious pastry. We then headed back to the dock to catch the returning ferry. The island itself is beautiful and the people seem very warm & friendly. You could definitely take the ferry to Procida yourself, but we felt the guided tour was very informative & interesting. I would highly recommend this tour.
  4. We’re cruising out of Spain. She’ll be 20 at the time of sailing. When trying to add the drink package it added to her as well and wouldn’t let me remove it.
  5. There are 2 adults on my room reservation, myself & my 20yr old daughter. She does not drink anything but water. When I try to add the deluxe beverage package for me, it automatically adds it to her. From reading these boards I have heard of people being able to buy one deluxe beverage package & one of the non-alcoholic beverage packages, but for her it would still be a waste as she only drinks water. Has anyone had any luck only buying one drink package in a room with 2 people? If not possible, I will just pay per drink, but thought I would check and see what others have experienced.
  6. We stayed at the Homewood Suites. Close to the cruise terminal, free breakfast and hotel was very clean. I’d highly recommend.
  7. We are not planning on doing any of the dining packages, but are interested in eating at Izumi Hibachi. The app shows a price of $34.99 per person for lunch, but when I look at the menu it shows a price for each entree option. Are these prices on top of the $34.99? I don’t understand how it works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. The Alcohol Policy you’ve posted also references non-alcoholic beverages and says guests are not allowed to bring them onboard for personal consumption. This is our first RC cruise and from looking at their website I thought we could bring on twelve 17oz. bottles/cans/cartons of non-alcoholic beverages. Is this not allowed?
  9. We used Galveston Limo (www.GalvestonLimo.com) when we did a Disney cruise out in 2016. It was a private pickup from IAH. I’m sure prices have gone up, but at that time it was $148 + tip. We were really happy with the service and had a great driver.
  10. I have heard that the cruise ship will wait for late passengers that are on a Royal Caribbean excursion, but I’m wondering if this applies if your excursion is only the transportation to a city. For example, booking a bus or train to Rome from the cruise port. If something happens with your train/bus (eg, accident, breakdown) will they hold the boat for you?
  11. Just an update…I was able to get information from Royal Caribbean and this excursion does not go inside the Colosseum. The only ones that do are “Best of Rome” and “Imperial Rome.” Hope that helps someone else with their planning
  12. Has anyone done this tour before? I can’t seem to find any reviews. I’m mainly wondering if you go inside the Colosseum? And how many people are considered a “small group” tour? TIA
