  3. thanks for that insight. I'm sailing May 28th on Symphony & it's nice to think my wife & I might have a chance at seeing it.
  4. you can order multiple entrees in all specialty restaurants, except for Chops, where they'll charge you extra
  5. yes, they'll email you & give you a chance to edit payment. make sure to be on top of your emails.
  6. thank you for that insight! i guess i'll keep checking constantly.
  7. Hey guys. my check in just opened for my sailing may 28th SoS & i filled in all my information, but when i try & pick an arrival time I get the message "not quite ready for you check back closer to your cruise to select an arrival time & complete check in" has anyone come across this issue & if so any suggestions? thanks in advance
  8. they offer pizza at cafe promenade but they don't have a sorrento's
  9. if you royal up, no matter the category, you only receive the points that you'd receive from the original reservation. yes you'd get the same 3 points.if you were to go up to suite, you'd still only get 3 points
  10. 1st royal cruise in may so i'm curious to other's responses & experience on the "sales" on watches liquor & other items in other cruise lines ive sailed on its no more than maybe 10% off retail (though they make you think it's more) the real savings are in not paying tax
  11. thats a nice minimum! im on symphony in may & are also ocean balcony minimum to jump to JS is $300 to GS is $1100
  12. No, you can reserve my time dining through the cruise planner. one of 2 things might be happening. it's too far out and it doesnt show yet, or times have filled up & now you'll just have to show up when you wish to dine & wait for tables to open up. i'd call Royal or your agent just to get some clarification on what your specific situation might be.
  13. I'm sure making changes like that isn't an issue once you're on the ship but i'm not sure how that will go about on the cruise planner beforehand. I've had situations that we've been onboard & decided to treat the in laws to a nice dinner but had the kids keep their already scheduled MDR seating. ive never tried to split reservations up on the cruise planner though. 1 of the benefits of working with a good Travel Agent is that they can take care of these kinds of scenarios for you. I myself & the planner in the family so I like to over-plan myself in advance so that I dont have a single worry once I'm onboard.
  14. this is the way to go IMO. time slots fill up for MTD. & if you dont make that reservation in advance, you might get stuck having to wait to be seated & the bigger the party, the longer the wait. It's better to have a specific time locked up & once on board you can adjust as necessary.
  15. When I go to the specialty restaurants, if Im not interested in any appetizers, can I order 2 entrees? is there a limit for what you can order? & if so, do you get charged extra for that?
  16. that looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. idk about the cabanas but im sailing may 28th and the waterpark admission hasnt dropped from $140.99 (been checking daily)
  18. i wonder if this will lead to any changes on health n safety protocols.
  19. ive called royal 7 times, & though some said it's okay & some said it's not okay unless it's Abbott, you can tell they just arent sure on policy. I finally got through to someone who sounded competent in their answer. unfortunately, there isnt enough information at the moment company-wide on i-health, so it's dependent on the attendant at the terminal. She sounded like everyone at RCL knows about Abbott tests, but anything else, even if it checks all the boxes, you might run into an issue. Hopefully Royal does a better job of communicating updates on testing options to their employees because i do fear it is going to get harder to get tests as (non tourism) demand disappears.
  20. ive seen a lot of posts lately about the downgrade in quality in the MDR. i have a question for you guys... how would you rate the current level of quality in MDR relative to other cruise lines? i ask because ive been cruising for a bit but it will be my 1st time on RCL (SOS may 22) & want to have a better understanding as to what to expect thanks in advance.
  21. “There is strong demand. And obviously, with the environment being what it is, there's been an opportunity to raise price, and we've been capturing that opportunity.” if they're being that brazen in their increase & there's no pushback from consumers, it's probably a matter of when, not if RCCL & other cruise lines follow suit, unfortunately. i think it's already started, somewhat with the lack of true promotions on the cruise planner
