  1. I just make my own monthly payments and don't have to pay any interest rates.
  2. We are doing a Norwegian cruise Nov 2019 and their unlimited drink package is $89/day before gratuities AND it does not include ANY bottled water or specialty coffees. Needless to say, we are not getting the drink package as there is no way to even get close with the bottle water taken out of the equation!
  3. We pre-purchased the all photo package for our Oasis in 2017. I received a letter in our cabin on the 2nd or 3rd day stating that they had a sale on the photo package making it cheaper than what I paid so I got an on board credit of $69 to use. I was surprised because I wouldn't have even noticed the sale price.
  4. We did FaceTime on the Radiance this summer and it worked well; however, we had the surf and stream.
  5. I put my final payment date into my calendar to remind me ahead of time. The OCD in me has a spread sheet with my schedule to pay cruise off accordingly. I divide my balance out with the months left until cruise and make sure that I have it completely paid for at least 3 weeks before the final payment is due.
  6. We were on the Radiance in July (Northbound) and we actually had good cell service from AT&T on the ship with the exception of a few times. Our phones alerted us to when we went to cellular at sea so we just put it our phones into airplane mode for a while. Our phones are set up to do WiFi calling so it was good all around. Actually, we had better AT&T reception there than we have at our own house ?
  7. Me too! I even took a class in Vegas years ago to try and learn Craps and I still couldn't figure it out totally. I stick to Roulette!
  8. My daughter has never been either - but she is friends with a Congressman. Please let me know what are some of the amazing restaurants! Our two youngest Granddaughters (12 & 10) are going also and they absolutely cannot wait!
  9. Well it is wishful thinking on my part! I would rather be on a cruise; however, work will be paying for this trip so I am going to enjoy it even more!!
  10. Hubby has a 2-day conference in February 2019 at the Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Punta Cana so we decided this weekend to turn it into a work/vacation combo and stay 7 nights. It is an All Inclusive so it is a cruise without the ship. We are taking a mini (5 day) land vacation for fall break this October going with our daughter and family to Washington DC. My daughter has connections and we will be having a private tour of the White House, Supreme Court, FBI headquarters (had to get cleared for this one), National Cathedral, and another place or two (I can't keep it all straight). May need to find something for the summer too since our next cruise isn't until November 2019.
  11. I have used Go Shuttle and Super Shuttle at several airports and they both worked great. You can get a private vehicle. I have an app on my phone and especially with Super Shuttle you will get a text when they have arrived or in route if they are picking you up at the hotel to take you to the airport.
  12. I guess the way I look at it - if it is a price you are comfortable with then go for it. If it goes on sale (drink pkg, VOOM, excursions and etc) then you can cancel and re-book.
  13. We are sailing on the NCL Getaway in November 2019 and we are not getting the drink package even if we use the free perk to add it instead of the dining option will would still have to pay 20% fee just to have the drink package. There is no way we would get our monies worth doing that. We might have 1 or 2 drinks per day and considering that the drink package does not include bottled water - well it's just not for us. We will use that money for excursions!
  14. We were on the Radiance this summer and we had AT&T cell service most of the time with the exception of an hour or two total. We also had the VOOM surf and stream. They only thing that seemed slow was trying to upload pictures to FB and also texting pics.
  15. For the price - we will chose RCI over DCL. We have only been on one DCL cruise and we just prefer RCI. Hubby and I are in our early 60's; however, we aren't huge Disney people either. I would rather take 2 RCI cruises than 1 DCL cruise.
  16. We have never done the special dining either. We have always enjoyed the MDR. We also prefer the MDR for breakfast also. My hubby is quite picky when it comes to eating and he enjoys the MDR.
  17. Now my mission will be to keep checking for this...There is hope on the horizon ?
  18. That is exactly what happened to my son-in-law! It all sounds good until you start seeing the "fine" print! Planning a cruise is supposed to be fun and relaxing instead of being full of STRESS! I may need to plan a RCI cruise before and after the NCL one! ?
  19. Oh wow! I guess this will be my one and only with NCL. I am a little OCD when it comes to stuff. I like to pick my seat for flying and I like to have the same table at dinner during a cruise. Apparently, there isn't a traditional dining anything with NCL. I am NOT a "fly by the seat of your pants" type of girl; however, I will be on this cruise ?
  20. Exactly! We can change our specialty dining for the UBP but you will have to pay the gratuity on $623 per person which is $124.60 per person. I think we will just pay as we go as I doubt we will spend over $249.20 between the two of us anyway.
  21. I don't like Pepsi either...but I like my bubbles so I guess it will be club soda and lemon for me!
  22. I know - me either! I assume that they will have "drinks of the Day" specials - hopefully!!
  23. As you guys know, we have our 1st NCL (Gateway Nov 2019) cruise booked (son-in-law booked this for our family vacation). We did get a good deal $3374.85 for 3 people in a Spa Mini Suite and only had to pay $1 per person deposit. Now that my Alaska cruise is done, I am looking to start paying for this one. I was looking at the UBP pricing: $89/day and this DOES NOT include bottled water or specialty coffees. Then I looked at the Soda package and it is $7.95/day (not bad price) but they have only Pepsi products. There is no way hubby and I can get our monies with at $747.60. They don't have a refreshment package either. I guess our drink package money will go onto excursions. I do like the idea of having a big bathroom with a big walk in shower and 2 sinks. I like the destinations as 3 of the 4 are new to us and we have never sailed out of New Orleans either. I'm sure we will have fun to matter what as we are going with our daughter, son-in-law and 4 grands.
  24. I brought an 8 port USB power supply in our carry on we were okay. Did this on Oasis last July and Radiance this July.
