  1. I was more thinking to allow more capacity they could have vax and unvax sessions for AO. The vax wouldn't have to social distance and therefore they could increase how many attend that session. I don't care about the mixing, I just don't like what some have said about how strict they are with social distancing in AO and how hard it is to even get a slot there. Honestly this will be our last cruise with RC unless they start mandating vaccines for all those that can. It makes AO very hard compared to other cruiselines. My son should be able to get vaccinated early next year and then at that point we can go on other cruiselines which I will do instead. RC seems to have zero plan to handle the mix of unvaxed and vaxed kids with the social distancing and reduced capacity yet I am hearing my holiday cruise may be at 80% which is NOT what the CEO originally stated. He said December would be 65%. So I am all around a little disappointed in all of this. You can't increase to 80% and still have the same protocols in place.
  2. I was able to book Walgreens once it was a week out, so we did Walgreens on Christmas Eve morning for us and my son the day before (he is only 4) at Walgreens. I have actually him set for Walgreens and CVS as RC was zero help telling me if they accepted ID NOW as PCR so I plan to ask the pharmacy and if not then an hour later we will do CVS PCR. I also have backup appointments for us in case Walgreens says they won't honor the less than 24 hours timeframe at another place that I have never heard of. So I would much rather do Walgreens.
  3. I would test on 12/24. I have found very few places on 12/24. I am trying to be cheap and get a free test and I really didn't think it would be an issue testing on Christmas Eve, but so far it seems to be an issue.
  4. I called and the guy said we are all marked as vaccinated which is clearly wrong since my 4 year old can't be vaccinated. I also asked about PCR tests and if ID Now is accepted as PCR and he was lost. I don't think this guy was very well trained. I was told unvaccinated had to be 6 feet in AO and that is what made the capacity lower and a bad experience. So now they have vaxed mixed in that won't need to distance I was curious if they would change anything. But based on the call I just had and from someone else stating something I am thinking vaxed will be treated like unvaxed in AO.
  5. I was curious how it would go with under 12 vaccinated since this was the first weekend that people could be on ships with vaccinated under 12. Seems they are not prepared at all. That sucks as I was hoping for some rules changes in AO and stuff like that in prep for this.
  6. I am going to call RC tomorrow since my kids became fully vaxed this week. When I spoke to an agent before she asked if I was vaccinated and she marked our file and I asked about the kids since they would be and she said call back once they are fully vaxed and then she can mark them. I am hoping once their file is marked that I can then upload their card. I am super curious about AO kids and wondering how they will handle vaxed kids and non-vaxed since the strict rules are not needed for vaxed.
  7. Florida and Covid testing, Antigen. We already have the PCR appointment for my son, the rest of us need Antigen 2 days out.
  8. Someone had mentioned a testing website where you can look and book appointments for multiple places. I clicked on it and it has places near me but not my date as it was too far out. Now I can't find the site again, does someone know?
  9. under 12 couldn't be vaxed for Thanksgiving. This weekend is the first cruises leaving that could have possibly had fully vaxed 5 to 11 year olds on it.
  10. I am really curious about this too as my 6 and 11 will be vaxed for our cruise over New Years so the protocols that make it low capacity wouldn't be needed for them. So will they start to do vaxed timeslots that they can offer to more kids and the unvaxed that are lower capacity? It would be smart over a holiday cruise to do that since there will be more kids and then they can service more kids. Clearly the young age can't be vaccinated so that would just stay the same.
  11. Cococay they are allowed to get off without an excursion since it is just cruise ships on the island.
  12. It will be on your documents when they are created.
  13. CentraCare flat out said they wouldn't do testing for travel. My guess is some do and charge you. But CVS on their website when I went thru said I qualified for a free test.
  14. That is so odd I am in Central Florida and CVS even has travel as a reason and it stated it would be no charge.
  15. Luckily my 6 and 10 are fully vaxed, but my 4 year old can't be. I have ZERO clue how I am going to be able to do this as we cruise on Jan 26th and a PCR is going to be a tough squeeze with the holidays. I am already concerned we won't have time for our antigen and I knew I was safe for him since he had 3 days, but now I am really going to have issue with him. On a side note for the longest time my cruise stated testing protocols were not released yet and I thought they would change and well they did, but for the worse not better. Ugh. They now state the PCR for unvaccinated.
  16. I noticed the same thing. I was hoping they would update it after people could get their second shot. I am wondering if they are waiting for them to actually have the ability to be fully vaccinated. They already approved my card which looks like there card and it from the same pharmacy, so I am not concerned.
  17. It probably wouldn't stick where the vaseline is. It is very sticky, but once it starts peeling off it will keep going. We had to normally tape the edges of it down with Duct tape so that we wouldn't have to change it often. But the bottom of her cast would sometimes get wet when her dry suit leaked a little during swimming and if it got wet it would all come off really easily.
  18. We would get big rolls of this from Amazon when my daughter was doing serial casting for her scoliosis. It helped on the edges of the cast to not rub as much.
  19. This post was interesting because it made me see where mine was and seeing where other ones are was also interesting. Because we are staying on Deck 6, but ours is deck 5 lol Our room is right next to a completely different station than we are at.
  20. For the cruise we are on there was no connecting rooms available and since we have 5 we couldn't find any rooms that allowed more than 4. Our rooms are next to each other, but not connecting. So we are in this same situation. I just assumed we would be given two keys for each room and so we would each have two keys one for each room. I am a night owl so I may attempt guest services that first night late at night and see if they can give us keys that access both rooms. Clearly connecting would be ideal, but if they aren't available we don't have any options. I think the issue was needing a room for 3 as those are limited to begin with and then add in connecting and that was even more impossible.
  21. It allowed you to select My Time Dining even if you have unvaccinated kids, however it will not let you reserve any dining times if you try. I know because I didn't realize this and had selected My Time Dining and then went to reserve dining times and it said members of my party do not qualify. So then I called and switched to the 5:30 time since my 4 year old can't be vaccinated yet.
  22. I mean honestly if they don't do it sometime the beginning of next year and every other cruiseline does, I can see where that can be good and bad. For example, I know families who would much rather go on a 95% vax cruise than one with 1000 kids on it like one cruise had. But I imagine there are also families who don't want to get their kids vaccinated. Personally, as soon as my son can be vaccinated we will switch to Carnival or NC if RC doesn't update their vax policies. I surely don't want to be on the one cruiseline that allows that largest population of unvaccinated people on it. I am only doing it this time because of my 4 year old. I remember my doctor changing his childhood vaccine policy and he said it used to be that I would get a handful of families a year who would sign the paper refusing vaccines. Then as trends continued and he saw he was getting several a week he realized that so few doctors accepted unvaccinated patients that he was getting more and more patients and he wasn't comfortable with the large numbers of unvaxed. So he changed it knowing he would lose patients but in his mind it was worth it because other families were getting uncomfortable with not having a policy. I see the same happening with cruises. The % of vaccinated guests on RC is going to be much lower and keep lowering the more other cruises make it 5+. I mean Disney changed to 5+ and Carnival only allows on exception. Those are two cruises who very much cater to families.
  23. Do you have the Compass that can be uploaded? I am trying to get an idea of the shows now that Harmony is back in the US. I want to be prepared so I can book shows and also adventure club as soon as I get on the ship since we will be going during the holidays (26th to 2nd)
  24. Sorry about your horse and husband and hope both are recovering well. I want to say as a new member it is extremely clear that posts have to be approved and when you see your post it says that it is not yet approved. So not sure how they could confuse that. I also want to say my posts are always approved in a timely manner, so again, not sure what this person's complaints are. Everything was clear to me. It was also clear that this is not RC official site.
