  1. Is there typically spots available in Terminal A?
  2. The price is for 8 people. On a side note, are the the same Hockeyman that was on a universal forum?
  3. Has anyone done either of these tours to give me opinion. Both preservation/animal type parks, one you are with sloths the other not. But the Mayan is cheaper and the one with sloths, so not sure if overall the Gumbalimba is a better park to be at even without interactions with the sloths.
  4. I guess we will find out, but I am not even sure what the 80% means. Because there is still a limit, so it isn't floodgates, but how are they going to monitor it now to know when they are getting close to the 80%. And is 5 to 12 in that 80% or not? It is very vague what was released today outside of vaxed for short cruises don't test. I am hoping by November it is for longer cruises too.
  5. I don't see them moving to what Virgin is doing until they no longer include anyone under 12 in that %. That is the main reason they can't do what Virgin is doing.
  6. I do plan on just a couple shorts, a shirt for each day, a couple dresses (for formal and other dinner), and only needed shoes as all my shoes are neutral. But my one daughter is very girly and wants a fancy dress every night for dinner, so that is not going to help my packing lol
  7. We have two large and two small bags. The small fit into the large. We will need one large for sure as it will have the snorkel/beach stuff in it. I am thinking the Garment bag will be in that one larger bag with all our dresses, then the two small we will use for the rest of the clothes. In normal hotels we have all 4 with no issues, but clearly cruise ship balcony rooms are much smaller lol
  8. I highly doubt they told employees their new policy a day before announcing it. That would cause confusion. Everyone else has been hearing October for changes. Unless another line is planning on announcing and so they are following them. I imagine the CEOs of the big ones talk.
  9. When I did a 4 night cruise I did a size that I could carry onto a plane and it fit all my clothes and a case of water. Now for this cruise it is 7 nights and a family of 5, so clearly will need much more. My concern is where to put the bags after we unpack.
  10. Some of the newer ships don't have the art anymore, right? I thought Oasis didn't.
  11. The thing with Virgin is they don't service the under 18 crowd. The issue with RC and them telling you in advance is they would have to move towards the 5-12 unvaxed crowd needing to follow the same rules as medical and religious reasons which is they have to apply and be approved. This would be a hard sell to the execs of RC I feel. Because they are a family cruise line. Otherwise, you risk going beyond the 10% with late family bookings after you accepted the other ones. Even lowering to 80% still could cause issues if you don't include 5 to 12 unvaxed. And since 2 to 5 can now get vaccinated do they start to need to be included in the 10%? It isn't that Virgin has any real different policies (other than dropping testing for vaxed which I see RC doing in October) is that they don't have to worry about families.
  12. Sorry, I should have said 5 to 12. It only is 5 to 12 unvaxed that count towards it. But either way since they don't need to file anything they would always be first and RC doesn't know how many of those will book last minute. I imagine if they see really low 5 to 12 unvaxed that they start approving earlier other requests. But if they have a lot of 5 to 12 they wait to the last minute. Since it is summer I imagine the 5 to 12 block is taking up most of that 10%.
  13. I think that they calculate all the families with kids under 12 not vaccinated and then see if they can take all the medical ones, and religious is probably last. Which is why you don't find out until so close to the cruise since people are still booking with a higher "priority". But I agree the reasons within medical and religious probably don't matter. All medical are probably lumped together just like all religious lumped together. If I had to guess it would be who paid the most is who they keep within those categories if they can't keep all.
  14. I agree fresh brew is the only way. When I buy it out in the bottle I will only buy it if it states fresh brewed and I check the ingredients just to make sure lol So if it is not fresh brewed there is no way I am drinking it on the ship. I will also be sticking with lemonade which sucks since that is more calories. Last thing I need is to pile on more calories on all the desserts and yummy food I will be eating.
  15. True, but the app tells me which is which. So if that changed closer to sailing I would see that in the app change. So closer to the cruise the better information I will have. I wish they would go back to two MDR being traditional and 1 being MTD. I would have considered MTD if it wasn't starting so late at 6:45. I also think rushing the traditional in that dining room doesn't help either. I can't imagine that few want MTD. My guess is MTD fills up first and then 5:30
  16. Oh man, I was hoping for brewed in MDR, ugh. I may be brewing my own with tea bags and then ice lol
  17. Thank you! That helps that closer it will show the deck which would help so that if we are 4, I can maybe call and see if we can be moved to 3 or 5. I just want to have that extra 15 minutes and not feel rushed if we are a little late for dinner. With deck 4 they are going to want to get you out sooner since next seating is 6:45 where the other dining rooms isn't until 8.
  18. Why would it be deleted. It was posted on page 2 of this thread also and has been there for several weeks now.
  19. I am curious about age ranges and parents vs. non-parents of who would prefer this. I only ask because my husband and I actually request no service in hotels and we stay in timeshares that don't have service. Once we are settled into a room we don't want to have to worry about where our stuff is and deal with when maids will or will not be there. However, on a cruise I would at least want the bed put away (pull out sofa) and put back down at night. Because it seems like that would be harder. We do it in hotels all the time, but I imagine cruises may be different. For the kids I would like some towel animals. But I certainly do not need my bathroom scrubbed every day. That seems overkill.
  20. Good to know. While I agree with you that not printing so much is much better for the environment. I do want a compass and map mainly for my kids. My two oldest will like looking and reading compass and picking stuff out. If it was just hubby and I app would be fine. So I am glad we can still request if needed.
  21. I am very aware we are Traditional at 5:30pm. But I am seeing that there are 3 dining rooms. One on 3rd and 5th that are traditional only and another on 4th that the early seating is traditional and the late is MTD. So that traditional seating starts at 5:15. I am hoping to avoid Deck 4 MDR. I would prefer deck 5. Post covid on Symphony this is not the case. There are 3 dining rooms and one is mixed Traditional (5:15) and MTD after traditional is done.
  22. A couple questions 1. When we were looking at cruising last year they weren't doing shared tables much so you were typically at your own table because of Covid. Is that gone? So our party of 5 will be sat with others? 2. On the first day can you go down and get your table changes maybe being closer to the window? 3. Any way to know in advance which dining room you are in? I noticed that the one is 5:15 and not 5:30 because the MyTime dining is after it. I was hoping to not get that one. When I look it says we picked traditional and it does say 5:30.
  23. This was us. I looked specifically for Deck 6 because I knew it was close to Boardwalk (which I see my kids loving), central Park (My husband will love), food, theaters, etc. Basically water Activities is where we will need to go far up, but I figured that will be an all day thing and so it won't be bad going up and then down much later. Where shows/meals are shorter before moving to the next thing.
  24. Oh no way he is snorkeling by himself, it would be our whole family of 5 going snorkeling at once. Thanks! Sounds like the kids would get to do some stuff and worth bringing their gear. Oh I know, I was on a swim team from age 5 to 14. It is just not like up north where I walked to the pool, I have to find a team and somehow get him to practices which aren't exactly work parent friendly. Next year he can do some of the summer swim team camps which should help.
  25. Honestly I wouldn't try this right now. Fast passes don't exist anymore and the genie system is pretty bad. Until Disney works out all the bugs, 8 hours with 2 hours of travel is just not feasible to be worth the high price of MK.
