  1. I have heard several people say there are port people and ship people. I think we started off as port people but after several visits to the same ports we became ship people. We may get off and browse the port shops but we also enjoy hanging out on the ship.
  2. I checked the Celebrity casino FAQ and found these 2 entries: Can onboard credit be used in casinos? Yes, as of July 1, 2015, onboard credit can be used in our casinos. Is there a transaction fee in the casinos? Yes, a 5% transaction fee will be applied on your SeaPass® card. We also have an ATM with a Bank Atlantic fee. Does this mean if I use some of our OBC to buy in at the craps table I will pay a 5% fee on that amount to do so?
  3. Yes. I was assured more than once my cruise would not be cancelled. They told me the amount paid was equal to the total cruise balance and their system would not cancel my cruise. The final cruise payment date came and went in May and my cruise is still showing in cruise planner. I used the "Make a Payment" link at the bottom of the RC home page and it now shows balance paid in full. I did take a "leap of faith" that all was well the day before the final payment date
  4. I thought my issue was a isolated issue, but having tracked this thread it is not. I too am surprised this software bug has not been fixed. When I was trying to resolve my issue starting in November, 2021 one of the customer service reps mentioned in passing it might be related to a cruise planner cross over bug. He had encountered that same issue with a different caller. THAT WAS NOVEMBER!! People are still having issues AND the reps on the phone act like this is a new issue for them. Is the CS reps turnover rate that high?? I am also disappointed the first rep one talks to has to get into another queue to talk with a "resolution" team person, the hold time is usually very long! @SpeedNoodlesI understand your bravado to use a Travel Agent. I am a "do it myself" person but if I am to continue being "Loyal to Royal" I will use a TA when booking my next cruise with RC.
  5. A lady begged to get her and her husband on the Love and Marriage game show stage. She got them on and they took last place. After the show was a pool deck party. She screamed at everyone that she did not appreciate being laughed at and jumped in the pool fully clothed. She had issues!
  6. I have been watching for another email from Royal Caribbean but none so far. The ship remains the same on both the app and the web page. I guess a call is in order. Thanks
  7. The email did list the excursions cancelled. I didn't paste that part of the email. The only reason given was what I did paste, a change in plans. The cynic in me thinks they couldn't honor the price I paid for those excursions that we booked last September, 2021. Pure speculation on my part!
  8. Royal Caribbean sent an email last night to us saying: "Sorry, there’s been a change Due to a change in plans, your onboard product below has been cancelled. A full refund will be issued to your original payment method within 14 business days. Please log-in to your account or contact us at 1-800-398-9819 to select an alternative." They cancelled and refunded every excursion we had booked for our August 12th sailing on Ovation to Alaska. Our specialty dining purchases remain on the calendar but that is all. Anyone else get a similar email?
  9. I wonder if Celebrity shares the same computer systems? A cruise I was looking at earlier now says there are no cabins left for that sailing. I find that hard to believe!
  10. Until the CDC removes the vaccine requirements from it's "voluntary" protocols I believe the vaccine requirements will remain in place for the US port embarkations. Actually, in my opinion, the crack is larger in the precruise testing requirements.
  11. I too saw my cruise reservations disappear from both the website and the app. Eventually they returned so I believe there was a DB/Server issue on RC's side. The system was very slow to present the information.
  12. If use a TA this issue will never happen? My hesitation using a TA is how to find a good one. I read recommendations from others on this forum but in all honesty, I don't know any of you. Who do I trust? Guess it is my problem.
  13. Been EXACTLY where you are for EXACTLY the same reasons. It worked out for us and that is my hope for you and yours!
  14. The banks are not paying much, if any interest anyway so I wouldn't be too concerned about a modest over payment.
  15. I have called the RC credit card rewards number (888-305-4626) to inquire about rewards credit. They said the rewards redeemed are applied as an OBC 2 weeks before the cruise. If one asks nice they can be applied to an upcoming cruise ( have the booking number handy) immediately.
  16. In my former work life we had an issue where the web traffic was directed to multiple web servers via a load balancer. The issue we had was one of the web servers failed a software update and traffic routed to that server still had the bug. Most would see the fix but the unlucky few did not. The team doing the update missed the failed update
  17. I am a very literal person. Question time: Quantity for socks, each or per pair? Sorry.......
  18. We had similar issue and I was concerned as you are that the cruise would be canceled. Our issue stemmed from a canceled specialty diner reservation which was refunded to our method of payment (credit card) and ALSO the same amount deducted from our cruise invoice balance. Cruise Planner had "Pay Balance" link disabled with a note we did not have a balance due. If I went to the bottom of the RC home page and chose "Make a Payment" it said I owed the $44.99 and it must be paid. Somehow that erroneous balance reduction became a Cruise Invoice Balance Due amount. I actually tried to pay the $44.99 to get our balance cleared and it was refunded the next day to our CC as an over payment! After 3 separate calls I finally got a supervisor to do a deep dive into it and she confirmed I was paid in full and the accounting system confirmed I had paid in full. She assured me several times the cruise would not be canceled as the amounts paid footed with the actual amount the cruise cost. This is the bug and I was told the IT TEAM COULDN'T FIX IT! After 35 years in IT I blew off as a bunch of hooey! It could be fixed, they didn't know how to because I think they really didn't know why it was happening and it wasn't a current priority. Anyway, if the reservation still shows on your dashboard after you log in that is a good sign the cruise has not been cancelled. I also went to the RCC home page and went through the "Make a Payment" process and it now shows a zero balance due. I would still try to get your situation confirmed!! Like you, I am hesitant to book with Royal Caribbean again.
  19. The Junior Suites on Quantum class ships on the "bump out" were once branded as Spa Junior Suites and they have the split bath rooms with a tub, separate shower and sink in one bathroom and the commode with sink in the other. Were were in the middle of the ship on Anthem, deck 10 (10210) with the 2 commode configuration.
  20. I generally need to ask for a 2nd offering of bread day one. The good asst. waiter remembers and those not as good takes 2 or 3 dinners to get it.
  21. We are interested as well. We are doing an Alaska B2B in August.
  22. I like unpacking once and having the "hotel" transport me to new places.
  23. I call it keyboard bravery. Many comments made on these boards would never be made if the conversation was held face to face
  24. I did a mock booking and was offered a refundable fare option. I was booking a Junior Suite. I have read refundable fares are not an option for Grand Suites or above.
