  2. I was reading some posts on the internet (a reputable source of information if I've ever seen one) and some people think Anthem will go to UK when she is ready.

    Anyone heard anything?

How time has flown since RCL4Life posted the above and how right we all were. I can't wait till next year when she arrives at Southampton. I will be sad to see the Independence go but what a fantastic ship that is going to replace her.

  3. 42 Podcasts and climbing , totally awsome job Matt. I've enjoyed every one from start to finish as they provide a great insight into RC , good listner feedback and I really enjoy it when you have guests on the show :) :).

I still don't know you do it mate juggling work , family , Facebook , Twitter and the blog site. I really appreciate all that you do to keep it all going so strong.

  4. It sure does.  If you have a drinking package can you get any of them from the list, except the Chimay of course, or can you only get certain ones?

We haven't purchased a drinks package yet so i can't help you with that but i'm sure someone can  :)

  5. The basic difference is the size of the room and balcony, relative to each other.  If I'm not mistaken, D class is slightly larger and E class.  Also, sometimes the location of the stateroom (midship versus aft/forward) can be part of the equation.

Your spot on Matt , we had a D2 on Deck 9 on the independence last year and have opted for the same this year because the room and balcony are slightly larger then an E also we are quite near the back which is cool because you are very near the Windjammer and Chops etc.

  6. Hi Theresia, welcome to the blog. I'm sure that there will be someone here who has been on the Serenade and can tell you how much fun you can have on the ship, just because she is smaller than the Allure doesn't mean she lacks some great entertainment :) .

  7. Welcome Hwyfuzz, you've come to the right place to share info and chat to some great people.

We can't wait for next year as the Allure is coming over here and hope to try Oasis class for the first time but with the Anthem coming to Southampton it's going to be a tough choice to decide which to try first :) .

  8. Hey all! I'm Stacy and love everything Disney but when I'm not doing Disney I'm planning a Royal Caribbean cruise.  I've only sailed once on RCCL - FOS but I have 2 cruises booked right now: Indy in Nov '14 and FOS Mar '15. I've been enjoying the podcasts, gathering the tips/tricks, and getting excited for the cruises!

Welcome Stacyleigh75 :). We love Disney too in fact we got married at the magic Kingdom and had our first RC cruise last year on the independence. You will love it here , great info and great people.

  9. I wouldn't be surprised. And an Oasis class ship is going to go to Asia. If O5 is built wouldn't be surprised to see one in Asia, Europe, eventually Australia, and 2 in the US. Europe has begged for an Oasis class and people from Australia are flying to Florida just to sail on one.

I think you are right Tylor and as far as far as the UK goes i think the writing is on the wall as Allure is in Europe next year and i think that with the departure of Adventure this year and Explorer only doing one season in 2015 and heading to Australia I really think that from 2016 they are planning to base the Allure in Southampton from May to October each season.

    BOY I HOPE SO  :)  :)

  10. I dont think they were thinking just of replacing Adventure but they had already planned it to go to Australia. It can fit through the Suez Canal and not the Panama, so it'll do summer itineraries there prior to heading Downunder.

Sounds like Explorer won't be coming back to the UK and with Adventure based in San Juan until at least April 2016 will my guess about Allure(see 2 posts up)be right ?.
  11. I love the Windjammer because it is such a "temptation island" for me.  We will go there to maybe get my daughter a drink and I'll be set in not getting anything. But a few steps in and I spot a half dozen items that look amazing and my wife finds me eating quietly in the corner.

I know what you mean Matt no matter how good your intentions are or how full you may be it's a bit of a Darth Vader moment and you have to give in to the dark side :)

  12. Hi and welcome to the blog, yes there are movies to watch on the tv in your cabin most of which are pay per view but they do screen some for free. The movies are about $4-$5 and are quite recent the only problem is the signal on the TVs is poor so you often get a bad picture. A portable DVD player is not a bad idea but you probably wont spend that much time in your cabin as there is loads to do day and night.

There is another option which is the huge outdoor screen which shows movies at least once a day if the Rhapsody has one ?, i'm sure another member of the blog will have sailed on her and can tell you if there is one on board.

    Hope this helps.

  13. Explorer isn't staying in the UK though. She's coming Down Under! Woohoo! :)

That's interesting , so if that happens we will only have the Anthem based at Southampton unless (and this is only a guess)RC are going to make Southampton Allure Of The Seas home port in the UK for our Summer Season if she is successfuI in the Mediterranean next year.

NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL. :)

If that did happen which ship would go from Fort Lauderdale ?????
