Miami-Dade Mayor requesting meeting with CDC
smokeybandit replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
South Beach spring break has been evolving to that chaos the last few years. -
I'd imagine you'd go through regular customs at the airport. Then customs again on disembarkation. Then again at the airport (for Americans flying back home, since there's USA customs pre-clearance in the Bahamas so you won't have to do it when you land in the USA)

There's no way June cruises will happen, even if there was no CSO to abide by.

The cruise industry should jump on that if the CDC is saying "not my call, dude" -
Kind of Discouraging News Re: August Sailings

Maybe they were secret agents trying to get you to convert. -
When to get a new Travel agent?
smokeybandit replied to jupiter03's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
You guy make me want to switch to MEI for my next booking. Question: Would NextCruise OBC convey with the transfer of a booking to a TA? -
Richard Fain's latest video update that actually includes some noteworthy updates.

When to get a new Travel agent?

Since we're talking travel agents, is it a thing for any travel agents to monitor for price drops or is that typically the responsibility of the client? That's not a loaded question, just curious. -
Can you use FCC on 2023 cruises?

I thought I read somewhere that you needed to call to book using FCC as your deposit. -

I read that to mean you have to do something with the credits by April 30, 2022. -
I get my first shot next Sunday (those few extra pounds that "getting older" has done to me is paying off!). Wife is already fully vaxxed (teacher). I'll be anxious to see truly what the rules will be for kids. I'm not concerned they'll be "banned" due to not getting vaccinated but I'm not thrilled with the idea of my 9 yr old getting a brain massage with the nasal swab when he's not actually sick. Hopefully testing requirements will evolve by the time these cruises actually happen.

I would imagine there's some percentage of TAs who put TA stuff on the back burner during the pandemic. -

I have some relatives that for a while wouldn't let anyone in the house unless they had quarantined 14 days prior and changed their clothes when they got there. Including close relatives. -
Here's a direct link to a search for June to August on Adventure. Right now it shows zero (obviously) https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/?dates_maxDate=08%2F01%2F2021&dates_minDate=06%2F01%2F2021&shipCode_AD=true

Thanks. I want to know what time to start checking since I'll be traveling that day.

Is there a common time that new cruises are loaded into the system? Like at 12am ET on the 24th can I expect to see these cruises live? Or sometime the next morning?

But there's power in numbers. When the Biden administration was considering requiring covid testing for all domestic flights, the collective airline execs got together and said "this ain't happening" and the idea was quickly dropped. Then again maybe they have tried in numbers and it still went nowhere. I'm sure airline lobbying power is much more influential than cruise line lobbying.

We're still waiting for the surges from last spring break, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Super Bowl, etc, etc. But most certainly the perceived fear of event-driven surges and variants (which haven't shown to be that big of a deal in the countries they're named after) will definitely be used and abused by the CDC
