  1. If it isn't showing on the app or on a physical computer what I would suggest you do is print out your actual invoice also know as your cruise vacation receipt because that for sure has the category of stateroom you're in.
  2. My husband and I are onboard the Ultimate Weekend ship doing a B2B. We originally booked this cruise for January of 2025 but moved it to September 2024. First of all we now have cruise on EVERY OASIS CLASS SHIP!!!!!!!!! Now let me tell you Utopia of the Seas is the penultimate Oasis Class ship. This is not another cookie cutter ship, it is a bit similar to Wonder with the location of the suites and suite deck but that is where the similarities end. You can tell people at Royal Caribbean really put some time and thought went through the data to get this ship just right. If you've done a weekend Bahamas cruise on Allure that great but it doesn't even come close to Utopia. I can't tell you everything my post would be to long, however I'll give you a few highlights. First of all the best Giovanni's on any Oasis, Quantum, Freedom, Voyager class ship is on Utopia. Its not just that the space itself make sense the quality of food is back at Giovanni's. Then there is Izumi the regular restaurant which on the 4 night is open for lunch excellent food but then the Hibachi experience its at a whole other level figuratively and actually its now on deck 8. I've done the Hibachi experience on so many cruises by far the best. Destination elevators on a cruise ship (mind blown) yeah I've used them on land I didn't think they would work as well as they do on a cruise ship. No more over crowded elevators why didn't they do this earlier!!!! Well when you say you've built the worlds biggest weekend you have to have some specular pool parties and Utopia does not disappoint. Part of the ship is like an Orlando water park the other part of the pool deck is where they turn it up Las Vegas style, the fun just doesn't stop. On the ultimate weekend they do not serve Lobster in the main dinning room for dinner on the 3 day. (I know, I know the people are crying ), however every lobster fans rejoice because they do serve lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, mussels, in Windjammers ) but they don't tell you the day you have to show up on the right day. But don't worry lobster fans its not hard to miss because once the word get out all the lobster people immediately make their way to Windjammers its just a horde of people going to windjammers because once they are out they out. Speaking of windjammers the food was really spot on, this time on this cruise I decided any day that I would go for lunch I would try what ever international cuisine they had and I had some really good and tasty food. Since we were on for an entire week, and we had the dinner package here is where we ate. We did the Royal Railway-Utopia Station and that was an experience and the food was again top notch. It is a separate cost we booked it I think 2 months before our cruise. If you're trying to book this experience once onboard even though they have a waiting list I can tell you it's not going to happen. I'm already thinking about my next Utopia cruise I'm not going to book Royal Railway again not because it wasn't a great experience or great food only because it is an extra cost even though we purchased the unlimited dinning package. And it's not a simple up-charge like they do for the Hibachi experience if you want to ride rails you have to pay FULL price on top of the any dinner packages you may have purchase. We also ate at as I stated Izumi, Hooked, Chops, Giovanni, 150 Central Park, Mason Jar. All of those restaurants were spectacular except for two, I don't know why I keep giving 150 Central Park a chance (the food at Chops, and now on Utopia Giovanni's is better). The second restaurant that didn't impress me again was Mason Jar. It didn't impress me on Wonder and it absolutely failed again on Utopia. Even though I'm a Chicagoan born and raised both my parents are from the South born and raised so I grew up eating Southern food. Royal Caribbean get some southerns to help you with this food this restaurant has so much potential but the food fails to live up to that potential. HOWEVER so many people have no idea there is a kick (fill in the blank) bar in Mason Jar that creates some of the best drinks on the ship both Wonder and Utopia. You don't have to eat at Mason Jar to go to the bar in Mason Jar. If you are getting on Utopia or Wonder do not miss the bar you can skip the restaurant but the bar in Mason Jar the drinks are fantastic. There are a lot of shows on Utopia I'm not going to discuss them all but there is one show that blew my mind, some of you will get it some will not. If you have sailed on Oasis, Allure, Harmony, Symphony and Wonder you know the best Aqua theater show is on Oasis of the Seas. Allure and Harmony have great shows but both Symphony and especially Wonder are terrible. Oasis put the Aqua Theater on the map, but let me tell you Utopia is by far the hands down best of the best of the best of the best Aqua Theater shows you will ever see. Until now I didn't think Royal would ever top the show on Oasis, not only did they top it, it is out of this world good. Lastly if you're getting on the Ultimate Weekend pace yourself there is more stuff to do daily onboard Utopia than any other Oasis Class ship in service today, Royal created it this way. You can't do it all you can't experience it all not even on a B2B so don't even tried it. If you are going to survive late into the night to attend the rock-in out outrageous parties you need to pace yourself, take a 30 minute to an hour nap. I shouldn't have to say this but drink lots of water in addition to the alcohol. The 70's party on the promenade is over you have to endure the stamped to get lobster then they take away the 70's party . But not to worry they replaced it with an all new party One Hit Wonders Party and I can say it is a worthy successor to The 70's Party. At night the ship turns into Las Vegas with parties taking place all over the ship there are so many other parties taking place around the ship late night you may not get to all of them but you will enjoy it. And then there is of course the casino which is poppin. I've been cruising with Royal since 2009 and at first I didn't like the idea of an Oasis Class ship doing 3 and 4 night Bahamas cruises, I thought Royal was making a mistake. Leave Freedom of the Seas alone is what I said and I've done a few weekend cruise on Freedom had a blast. However for those of you who are like me and are like ugh its just 3 & 4 night Bahamas I'm not getting on Utopia until this ship does 7 night cruises, do yourself a favor and GET ON UTOPIA. First of all you'll get to say you've cruise on all 6 Oasis Class ship and are now eagerly awaiting Oasis 7's arrival, but more than that Royal got it right with Utopia. And I promise you you will not leave disappointed as you step off the ship on disembarkation day.
  3. Generally the doors do not open until 7am, even though your ship will be along side the pier at 5am customs doesn't open until 7 so no one get off until 7am.
  4. I've done both the 11 nighter and the 12 nighter cruise on Anthem multiple times because sometimes you just need to escape winter and I'm from Chicago so I know winter an cold as well. What I can tell you is by day 2 its already what I would consider warm day time highs are in the upper 60s low 70s or since you're European lets do it in celsius (why we still use Fahrenheit in this country is a discussion for another day lol) in celsius that would up upper 16 to lower 21, by day three its full out warm weather. The seas are a crap shoot they can be calm but also rough so I would suggest if you get motion sickness to just bring some medication to help you deal with that just in case. The cruise itself is 100% worth every penny and you certainly should book it.
  5. I don't disagree that there is a difference between the 3 and 4 night Bahamas cruises and longer 7 night cruises but I've seen thongs galore on 7, 9, 10, even 13 night cruises. If you on the pool deck you're going to see a lot of people wearing thongs and/or extremely skimpy bathing suits. I'm truly sorry you and your 12 year old felt uncomfortable but skimpy bathing suits has nothing to do with the fact you were on a party cruise it have everything to do with the fact that is what people wear nowadays to the pool, and the beach. Should Royal have made them cover up when they entered windjammers? Yes they should have, and on some ships they do ask people to cover up as they enter. So I can understand your situation in Windjammers. Being uncomfortable out on the pool deck because people were walking around showing a lot of flesh in a skimp bathing suit I'm sorry I don't get that all all.
  6. Another way to increase the number of outlets you can use in your stateroom is to buy a European power adapter in addition to what others have already posted. I have a multi USB charger and I also have European power adapters so we can use any power outlet in our stateroom instead of only being able to use the US power outlets.
  7. My first cruise ever in 2009 was on Adventure of the Seas and that ship sunk its hooks into me and the rest is history. Over the years since I've sailed on Adventure numerous times, it is a fantastic ship with plenty to do onboard but it also has plenty of places where you can just chill out and relax. I don't have children so i can't speak to how much fun your children will have but I do know the adults you will have fun, you will be able to relax, they have the fan favorite restaurants onboard. I would for sure say book it because there is more to Royal Caribbean than Oasis Class and Icon Class ships. Voyager Class (Adventure is a Voyager Class ship), Freedom Class, Quantum Class ships are all excellent choices I've sailed on all these classes, the only 2 classes of ship I haven't sailed on are Radiance and Vision Class ships. Don't be hesitant to venture out and try a different class of ship.
  8. I have AT&T cell service and I've been with them for over 20 years and I've never purchased their package and I've been cruising since 2009. VOOM works perfectly while on the ship, if you get off the ship while in port and something is that important where you need a signal to make a phone call there are place in a lot of ports in the Caribbean that offer free WiFi.
  9. What my husband and I were told by our stateroom attendant was on a 7 night cruise we had to have our D+ free laundry bag sent out by day 5. We've always filled out the form and we've never had an issue with any of our items not being returned.
  10. If you are truly interested in disconnecting from the outside world then I would say no Voom. I have used the messenger feature that within the app I feel like it works fairly well and would be enough if it's just about you communicating with people who are on the cruise with you. If there is an emergency back at home keep in mind if you're not in port where you can connect to a cell signal and your phone is in airplane mode then home has no way to getting in touch with you without Voom. However you can always purchase a one day internet package, also depending on your status let's say you're D+ you get 2 days 1 device free both you and your wife so in actually that is 4 days free Voom as she can gift you her 2 free days or vise versa you can gift her your 2 free days. There are ways to get internet if necessary without purchasing a package for the entire cruise especially if you have no intention on actually using Voom for most of the cruise.
  11. But why single out cruise ship passengers when they aren't the only source of the crowds? How many people do a one day trip from Athens via the ferry to places like Santorini only to return to Athens later at night the same day? We have US airlines which pre-covid only had a combined 4 flights to Athens and those flights operated seasonally from May through mid-september. Fast forward to today and we have American airlines with 5 daily nonstop flights from the US to Athens (next year they will operates 6 daily flights), Delta and United both operates 4 daily nonstop flights from the US to Athens, (given the popularity of Greece it is expected both these airlines will follow American Airlines lead and announce additional flights to Athens most likely bring both United and Delta up to 5 daily nonstop flights). That's not all season for these flights now starts in March and for some flights extends all the way until December. I went to Athens this summer, I also took the ferry over to Santorini and yes it was crowded but it wasn't just Santorini Athens was crowded as well but that is to be expected seeing that I traveled during the high season. But the economic impact of all those tourists has to be immense, the shops, restaurants, were all busy raking in the cash. Tour operators in Santorini and Athens are busy they also are raking in the cash. I get they have to find a balance but they are going after the easy target which is the cruise industry while not looking at the entire travel industry overall.
  12. I get your frustration about the invented premium product at the expense of regular coach but perhaps you need to take a look at what the Europeans call first class. It's truly a coach seat with the middle seat blocked and that is first class. The leg room the seat pitch and actual seat itself is all the same as the seat in coach only difference is the middle seat has a blocker installed that maintenance can remove depending on where the aircraft is flying as not all routes have first class in Europe. And while you are correct US airlines have invented this fake premium product that offers additionally room for those in the first few rows of coach the reason they've done it is to cover all their bases. The major carriers like American, Delta, and United have learned how to compete against airlines like Southwest, Frontier, Spirit, and JetBlue. Looking at the industry today its the ULCC and LCCs (ultra low cost carrier, and low cost carriers) that are experiencing some headwinds financially while the legacy carriers are flying high. Just a little bit over a decade ago the exact opposite was true the ULCCs and LCCs were cleaning out the legacy carriers. Just this quarter Frontier, Spirit and JetBlue have all announced they are deferring orders that combine total over 100 brand new Airbus aircraft until 2030 or later. Meanwhile the legacy carrier continue to grow and are now clamoring to get those coveted delivery slots that have now be abandoned by those carriers. Southwest which is in better financial shape than the other carriers mentioned and is not deferring delivery of new aircraft still has its own problems and really they are being forced to make some major changes by Elliot Financial Group. Starting next year Southwest will finally, finally launch redeye flights something they should have done decades ago to be honest but they've resisted until now. Assigned seating is also coming to Southwest which is the first step in them monetizing seating selection on aircraft. Southwest also recently sent out a poll asking some of their most frequent fliers how they feel about paying for checked luggage so its quite possibly free checked bags will come to an in on Southwest but most don't expect that to happen in 2025 what I've heard from insiders is they would most likely introduce that change in 2026. Southwest is making all these changes because they are under extreme pressure to increase revenue and profits, the same pressure the legacy carriers faced more than a decade ago. Over 14 years ago United Airlines then CEO stated there was no money to be made in the US domestic market a sentiment all the legacy echoed but only United was dumb enough to say out loud. Fast forward to today and some of the legacies most profitable routes aren't international long haul routes they are domestic short haul routes right here in the the lower 48. What changed is they've learned to to adapt and compete in every segment of the market including the ULCC and LCC markets. I wish we could go back in time to the days when the airline industry was regulated no deregulation, go back in time to PanAm's hey day, but that's not reality. By the time I was born in 1980 PanAm was already on its way out they just didn't know it yet. But as someone who has spent a large portion of my life working in the aviation industry I do wonder from time to time would PanAm had survive as the Legacy PanAm we all know and cherish if they were still around today? Or would PanAm if they had survived look a lot like the American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines of today?
  13. That is the same size as a grand suite if I'm not mistaken. Wow that awesome.
  14. I don't know if this has been discussed on this site yet. but it seems as though Royal is adding a new port of call for its mega class ships like the Oasis Class starting at some point in 2025 smaller class ships will also visit this new port. Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic will be a new port of call for Oasis Class ship and according to Cruise Hive if you're booked on next years December 13, 2025 Oasis OTS sailing your 8 night voyage will now include a visit to Cabo Rojo which will replace one of your sea days. However to accommodate this new stop the Aruba port of call time in port will be trimmed from its current 8 am to 11 pm to its new time in port which will be 7 am to 4 pm. So you'll loose time in Aruba your also loosing a sea day but you're gaining a whole additional port of call during the same 8 night sailing. Good to see Royal continuing to expand their ports of call where mega ships like Oasis Class and quite possibly Icon Class ship can one day visit. https://www.cruisehive.com/royal-caribbean-adding-brand-new-port-to-multiple-sailings/143254
  15. I hope I never experience this while on a cruise. Something must have happened to cause them to run out of towels so early on in the day on a at sea day.
  16. I would think the Beach Club in Nassau would be ready and opened by the arrival of Star if not slightly before Star's arrival.
  17. People asked the same question when it was revealed Royal had ordered a 5th then a 6th and even as recently as their order for a 7th Oasis Class ship. Wonder has been a hit, Utopia is the new king in the weekend Bahamas cruise market. At this point I think Royal knows what they are doing, seeing that they have ordered a 7th Oasis class ship and now a confirmed 4th Icon Class ship with options for 2 more. Given the success they seen with 6 Oasis Class ship plus an Icon Class ship I think they've done their homework and we all are just going to have to wait and see where all these mega cruise ships end up home-porting. We know where Star is going we have to wait and see where Oasis 7 goes and where Icon 3 and Icon 4 goes but I don't expect Royal will give the public any clues into their future plans for these ships this far out.
  18. Just booked the Royal Railway on Utopia for our September cruise. We are on a B2B but we only booked it for one cruise, the price for this experience is insane but you only live once and I'm thinking I'll only do the Royal Railroad once at those prices. Having said that I'm still excited about this all new experience my fingers are crossed that the food lives up to the expectations.
  19. I'm trying to reconcile what you are saying with what Royal CEO told investors on their Q2 earnings call just a few weeks ago. Where Royal stated building smaller ships will become a necessity for Royal as the lines largest vessels are itinerary limited do to port restrictions. Liberty also stated smaller ships allows Royal to visit unique destinations which continues to be a priority for Royal Caribbean. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/08/05/royal-caribbean-ceo-says-new-ship-class-coming-3-4-years#:~:text=In fact%2C President and Chief, vessels in the coming years. I don't think Project Discovery will be the same size as a Radiance or Vision Class ships in that regards I think Royal is done building ships that small. However, I also don't think it will be the size of a Quantum Plus, Oasis, or Icon Class ships either. In my opinion I believe Project Discovery will be the same size or just slightly smaller than Royal's current Voyager Class ships.
  20. Well it would appear as though Jason Liberty during their earnings call did say without officially saying Project Discovery is a go. He didn't give any specific details about the size of the ship but did state smaller class ships attract people who are interesting in exploring new destinations, destinations larger ships simply can't go. He also stated Royal research has shown that loyal cruiser don't necessarily want to leave Royal Caribbean Brand to explore these unique destinations and the cruise line wants to further diversify its footprint around the world. Reading his comments does make be believe Royal is doing their due diligence and I'm hopeful they will get Project Discovery right just like they did with Oasis Class and Icon Class. Although not much details were given I think people who are loyal to Royal and thought they might abandon the small cruise market Jason Liberty's comments should give hope that by the end of this decade or the beginning of the 2030's Royal should have a new small class of ship in the market place.
  21. As much as people (myself included) highlight the high cost of cruising now days compared to pre-covid I don't see how or why Royal would lower their prices at this particular time given the fact they continue to see what they called exceptional demand.
  22. I don't see Royal going much smaller than 130K GT. However ordering 8 ships between now and 2029 that seems like a lot even for Royal. I do believe project Discovery is going to happen and will be announce at some point this year but I don't know that I believe 8 ships would be ordered.
  23. Generally 7 am is when passengers are allowed to disembark the ship. If you are asking this question because you're heading to the airport keep in mind it will take around 1 hour to reach MCO if that is the airport you're flying out of.
  24. Navigator is a great ship but we have plenty of great Royal Caribbean ships sailing from East Coast ports. Let LA keep Navigator because without Navigators success out West there would be no Q Class ships schedule to sail from Los Angeles. Hopefully we will continue to see Royal get stronger out West especially out of California and at some point hopefully be able to really Challenge Carnival which has multiple ships based out of California ports.
  25. The people who handle RoyalUP are 3rd party company Royal uses. If I were you I would look at my actual cruise documents from Royal Caribbean, have them email you an actual invoice it will have your correct GTY on it. Having said that I agree with what others have posted if you want the grand suite book then you should purchase the actual upgrade for the grand suite and not play the RoyalUp game.
