  1. Was colonoscopy scheduled or needed because of two weeks of cruise excess food consumption? I respect your HIPA rights to not answer.
  2. First and possibly last. Rumor they might require skydive certification to fly. I’d request a long extension cord if on board.
  3. My kids pick out and only eat the marshmallows. Does this improve safety?
  4. All the cruisers that I know who have been on a Astoria shore excursion loved it….both of them. Astoria is not a common stop.
  5. The mini group cruise needed to happen 10 years ago. I have three too many kids and a rusty liver now. But back in the day……..
  6. How was vote held? Ya/Nay on the pool deck? I would have gone ashore. Albeit after many other passengers went first. I mean a cartel member can only carry so many bullets and a cruise ship holds lots of people. Cozumel is not to be missed.
  7. Pre party in the parking lot! One need not wait to be on the ship.
  8. I wouldn’t expect someone to use their entire cruise week on this project. If an adult drink from each bar is consumed and tour is filmed in one day, the last few stops would undoubtedly be entertaining. I say go for it. keep your camera person sober to make sure you make it back to your room. I will tune in and give your your video two thumbs up (or whatever is supposed to be done to show approval these days)
  9. I just read through the current sailing rules for Spain departure. Adults over 270 days since vaccination can sail without booster but require testing done on ship at $55 before going on shore in France and Italy. It doesn’t state if this test must be done for each stop or one test covers all stops. I submitted this question to Royal and will post their reply.
  10. I have a friend who is not active on this blog who asked a question I couldn’t confidently answer. Royal customer service was also not clear. I’m in part to blame for struggling to property articulate the issue so I thought I would try here. My friend has his family booked on a sailing this summer. His teenage child is going through some “stuff” Their concern is that their child’s name and sex/gender (not sure what is politically correct these days) may change before their sailing. They have made final payment and booked direct with Royal Caribbean. They are aware that their child’s passport must match the name and gender/sex of traveler as well as the time delay to receive a new passport if changes are made/occur. Currently, the situation was described to me as “fluid”. Is anyone aware of limitations or deadlines for this situation with Royal Caribbean?
  11. Bionic bar excels at making bad drinks. Bad drinks are harder to find with human bar tenders.
  12. I have been following the advice of fly into embarkation port a day early. I go straight from airport to cruise terminal and “rough sleep” in front of entry doors. I apologize for being part of the problem. Side note, I have never missed the ship.
  13. There are far fewer dogs on cruises now than 10-15 years ago. I’m basing my assessment on the amount of times “who let the dogs out?” is announced on the pool deck, usually by a member of the band.
  14. Unless able to run early in the day, treadmills are better than track.
  15. I’m a sample size of one but feel my actions are reflective of others. Upon becoming diamond I was pumped to have access to the lounge (open bar for 3 hours, hammer down) However, It was a bit “stuffy” for my taste. It was my only cruise without drink package. Now cruising Star, I gift my vouchers to those with empty glasses each night in the pub. This has generated some fun/interesting conversations. With a cost of goods sold averaging $1-$2 per drink (wine slightly higher, beer less) providing the vouchers is a rounding error for Royal Caribbean. That said, I think that the average number of complementary drinks utilized by diamond and above is higher with voucher program due to the ease of use because not time or location limited. The rule using a voucher for each drink in lounge only reduces consumption of those who dedicated their evenings to loud conversations regarding how many cruise points and upcoming cruises they have.
  16. The wall may be a dangerous place to be if chief financial officer throws something out of frustration.
  17. That is what I told my friend. But they insisted that Gold now get the drinks because they read it on the internet. People these days.
  18. Gold now get 4 drinks too or poor choice of phrase? Asking for a friend.
  19. The oldest ships have the longest track record of being stable. Wonder of the seas has the shortest history of being stable. Icon is a complete unknown, at this point. Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware)
  20. Days not hours. Not sure how time zones play into equation. I will be calling closer to my sailing to verify. The proctored online test gets a time stamp that show Universal time, which is, or is close to, the actual time in Spain. I will report back here what I find out next month.
  21. Spin your partner round and round. Didn’t know swing dancing was still popular enough to charter a ship.
  22. I think everyone in the world should get a 10x raise. Make it easy, just add an extra zero to all wages. Imagine how happy everyone could be. I wonder why this hasn’t been done worldwide or at least in a few countries? If implemented, hopefully this will not change the cost or availability of goods in the marketplace or decrease the demand for labor. I have to apologize, It’s been 15 years since my last MBA course and my memory is fading.
