The Healthy Sail Panel will have some initial thoughts near the end of August.
I'd suggest waiting to see what of those are made public rather than wild and unsubstantiated speculation by those like me who have no idea.

Spent some time this morning deciding how I wanted to handle upcoming final payments, current FCC's, etc and started to wonder, what would the initial signs be that Royal (or any major cruise line in the US) be that they're confident in restarting sailings and what would a timeframe from those signs be?
A few things that I figure we'll see first, and I'm going to use the assumption that they are confident in their ability to protect themselves, their crew, and passengers.
Detailed plans announced for mitigation (reduced capacity, reserved seats at shows, how dining/bar services will work, etc.) Confirmation of agreement with the CDC that the line has met or exceeded their requirements Removal of no sail order (by expiration or otherwise) Announcement of additional cancelations excluding specific ships (assuming phased startup) Staffing up of a(or multiple) ships Announcements of changed itineraries on select sailings I'll admit though, I don't know much about the actual operations of a cruise line, so would love some feedback/discussion on what others would expect to see logistically that some sailings would be resuming within a couple months?

Since some of the Odyssey sailings were cancelled, it could be that RCG is holding the rooms back or a ton of L&S have occurred. My Oct 2021 Allure had almost all the rooms opened before the Liberty fiasco. Now when I do a mock booking, there aren't as many rooms available. I don't think they have started reducing capacities just yet, I think some itineraries are booked up.

So we are booked on Odyssey out of Rome October 2021. Friends wanted to join our group and literally no cabins available. It says interior staterooms not available. Ocean view not available. The only balcony rooms available are handicap accessible.

Ive never seen this before. Either the whole ship is booked or they’ve already sold a certain percentage for reduced capacity.

Now for my May Symphony in 2021, lots of interior cabins available. ?‍♀️

Michael Bayley is CEO of Royal Caribbean International (a single cruise line).  Richard Fain is the Chairman (or maybe CEO or both, doesn't really matter) of the parent company Royal Caribbean Group (which owns several cruise lines).

Ok, so I'm confused.  I thought Richard D Fain was CEO?  Now I see this person named, Michael Bayley?  Did Fain get the axe or something?

When I did L&S they mandated that it be out of the same port.  Mind you there was a sailing out of that port at the time.

Ugh. I think they have eased up on this requirement lately. Maybe you just had a stubborn CSR.  ??

yes I really prefer to go out of Puerto Rico. I dont like the extra 2 days of crusing. I like a schedule of wake up eat and go, get back late, eat sleep, repeat. but so far I'm not seeing anything

Wow your right I wonder why that is.  We just Lift and Shifted a Feb 2021 Freedom PR cruise to Feb 2022 cruise. So they seem to plan to still offer the Itinerary.

Do you have to cruise out of Puerto Rico?  You can lift and shift to a Florida departure port if the itinerary length matches.

I had a cancellation for My current Oct 11th out of PR, I want to use the Lift and Shift for the same cruise in Oct 2021, but no cruises show for Sept or Oct ( under new bookings, I didnt do anything with my actual Lift&Shift yet). Does that mean there really are no cruises or are they just not showing in the new booking section yet waiting to see if they fill with other Lift and  Shift's - I can only go in Oct 2021, so I cant take the Nov that does show
