  1. I actually have Saltgrass Steakhouse on my list! I will check into the hotels and am happy to hear the area is pretty walkable!
  2. I agree 100% on your above comment…even about NCL and Manhattan…which we just did on the Prima in late April/early May. For me…sticking with Royal for now.
  3. My experience also was just a year ago and exactly how @CrimsonCruiser described. What I did not like about the night was how sticky/hot and humid it was in the restaurant the night we dined! We really couldn’t enjoy our meal as we were desperately trying to finish up to find a cool area!
  4. In May 2004, I actually sailed on the Voyager of the Seas out of Bayonne for a long weekend cruise that was for Travel Agents only. A very good friend of mine was a TA and invited me to join her for the complimentary cruise which Royal held in order to get the word out about their new port! We parked in a dirt parking lot which I believe was to the right of the terminal but thought we walked to the terminal. It was my first cruise…and my memory is vague but I do remember the process to board was smooth and quick. Maybe she will remember the reasoning behind them moving to NJ. I’ll ask her!
  5. I wonder if that size is what fits under the aisle seat so they are making it the general size altogether. I love the aisle seat but if I am traveling alone my typical carryon does not fit under the seat in front of me! That under seat area is narrower than the middle and window seats! So perhaps the new size they have announced must be closer to that aisle seat area! Ughhhh
  6. By the looks of it, guessing there are not many RC Bloggers from Texas…or at least the San Antonio area. I thought I would put another request out there? Thanks if you can help out….
  7. Right now for my May cruise the water park day pass is $140.99 and the water park cabana is $1199.00 (which = $200/pp). The Labor Day sale is over but I will probably purchase at this price and wait for Black Friday sale to hopefully save money! There are only 6 spots left for the cabana and the cruise is still 8 months away!
  8. Just booked this cruise. There will be 8 adults and 6 kids (ages 9, 11, 11, 11, 11, 12 [all boys except the 9yr old]). I will be with my daughter and her 2 boys. The rest of the group are friends of hers and their kids…of which all four 11 yr olds are in the same class at school! She and I are going without our hubbies ! Super excited!
  9. Forgot you are like me…keeping secrets about cruises from Hubby! Our cruise is Nov 6 and he was just told about it this past Tuesday night (8/29). So by my calculations you have until October 26 to break the news!
  10. I’ve been on both and would choose Freedom over Adventure any day! Adventure needs a nice update…but that’s just my opinion.
  11. Yes I found that out a few years ago…and mentioned it in a blog on here somewhere! Always use the profile icon when using the app.
  12. It was great following along on your adventure. Safe travels home so you can get ready for the classroom!
  13. https://www.portbermudawebcam.com/ Guess it’s a good thing Liberty is heading North instead of Southeast! I’m thinking Norwegian Joy will be stuck there until tomorrow instead of leaving this afternoon!
  14. Did you try the cruise planner website?
  15. I would imagine anyone who booked B2B and are now getting the same itinerary might be a little perturbed . I would be! But as noted…we cannot control the weather.
  16. Right with you! I’m in RI and visit Portland quite frequently…guess that would end up being a stay on the ship kind of day!
  17. Check out the Live Blog section right now. @Lovetocruise2002 is currently on Liberty and was in Portland the other day. They had a pretty full day and everything looked great. They also spent today in Halifax. Make the best of it…Bermuda looks like they will be getting lots of rain and wind. Good Luck!
  18. Can’t wait to read your continuing posts especially now that you have moved to your new “suite digs”!!!
  19. Wow I have to say you have had unbelievable weather for every port on this cruise! So happy for you! Enjoy your day today…
  20. Lol yup! It turned out great because our travel couple, Rich and Rhonda, were with us and they are joining us on this cruise! So our conversation kind of rolled around our cruise next year on Utopia and Rich kind of slipped in that he thought there was something on the books before that one. I chimed in agreeing with him and we all at the same time told him we are going in November! He was quite surprised at first but it turned into a huge laughing event with us all goofing on the fact that he just had no clue at all! He did ask me what else I’m hiding from him…hahaha. The funniest part was when we were driving home he told me I need to put it in his phone calendar and I told him…it’s already there! I had added it months ago! We took a fit of laughing so I called Rich and Rhonda to give them one last laugh as they were driving home! So I guess our anniversaries will continue to add up…and hopefully each one will coincide with yet another cruise!
  21. Back to chicken and waffles. We have a friend who orders that whenever any restaurant we visit has it on the menu. He eats it like a sandwich…very messy…but he says awesome! He had my hubby try one just a few weeks ago but he just couldn’t get the gist of holding it like a sandwich…perhaps he had a little too much syrup on it? It’s also a favorite for my son as well as one of my grandsons! They both eat it with a fork but together. I agree with @OCSC Mike’s final answer!
  22. I’ve seen some places with glasses or jars on the counter for tips. But there are also bars without those so perhaps those tips can be pocketed? I do hand my tip directly to the bartender waiting on me.
