  1. We always leave our passports on the ship, but we instead bring a copy of our passports and/or our passport cards. We've never needed them or been asked to show them but have always been told to take a copy (at the very least) off the ship.
  2. What did the fish say when he swam into the wall? DAMN!!!!
  3. I tried to do it this morning from the Mobile Browser and it was a continuous loop for me. When I would click "Plan My Cruise" it wanted me to sign in again (a continuous loop). I logged onto my PC and was able to cancel and rebook in seconds.
  4. So, I wanted to fill everyone in on something that happened to me recently so that you can at least check and make sure the same thing doesn't happen to you. My family of 5 are set to cruise on Dec 19th out of Galveston on Liberty. We made final payment 3 or 4 days before the final date back in early September (and as luck would have it, final payment was pushed out the very next day). No worries though, I was happy to have everything finalized and ready to go. A couple of a weeks ago we found out that one of our kids would not be able to make the trip and thus I called into RC to cancel him. Everything went smooth until about three days later when I noticed on the RC website that the "Pay Remaining Balance" was blue, and no longer greyed out. I clicked the link and sure enough, I now had a $408 balance due after being told I would get an FCC for $1,000+. It's taken about 10 days now for RC to fix it, but had I not called I am worried that my cruise would have been canceled for not paying in full before the final payment date that had been extended. I'm not sure what the policies or procedures are there, but I wanted to bring it light in case you want to periodically check your reservations and make sure you're not also showing a balance. I wasn't going to post about it until I saw the youtube video last week from La Lido Loca (link below). He had the same issue ($52 balance) but he didn't find out until going through embarkation. I wouldn't think things like this would happen with today's technology, but with Covid and some of the new policies, procedures, and technological system changes, problems are likely to occur. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJbwTclM_LM Good luck and happy sailing!
  5. We are on Liberty in 32 days and are a family of 4. Yesterday I received the "Royal Up" e-mail and was curious why the bid is for two people and not all 4 of us. I'm curious if anyone has seen this before? Do you pay/bid for 2 people but everyone is moved if it's won? Thanks
  6. After seeing the path the ship took today (after my post), I assumed that might have been the case. Hope everything turns out ok for all involved.
  7. I see that Freedom is pulling back into Nassau right now. It's 4:00 pm there and Freedom was there yesterday correct, and today was a sea day before docking at Coco Cay tomorrow. Anyone have any idea clues? I wonder if there is a Ship issue, it appears to really be swaying and the ocean doesn't look that bad.
  8. What about the Deposit. I paid $250 for each person and they told me the FCC for his deposit would be $50 (unless I misunderstood her). Thanks fo the tip.
  9. So, my family of five is scheduled on Liberty, Dec 19th and my 18 year old may not be able to get off of work (brand new job) to go with us. 1) What are my options for: his cruise fare? his excursion fare? his soda package? Any chance any of this can be refunded or added as an onboard credit? ***UPDATED -Answers below***
  10. i have the exact same question. I have a Dec 19th cruise and a 10 year old waiting to get vaccinated.
  11. Thanks, I assumed it would go to Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. I hope that is the case.
  12. @Zurc @Momof4crazytocruise Headed out on her Dec 19th. We just had our Jamaican excursion canceled this morning. I'm curious if you guys have an itinerary change and what it is? I know Grand Cayman will change since they are not allowing ships until 2022, but what about Jamaica? We were supposed to be on the Marth Brea tour but it canceled for some reason.
  13. @janderson I've been to Ft. Lauderdale (from Houston) twice now and usually the flights from here to Ft. L and Miami are about the same. I also use Google Flights to track prices. Usually booking flights 3+ months out will give you the best pricing options, but usually we fly there anywhere from $125-$250 RT, on United. As for a hotel, we stayed at (Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Downtown/Las Olas), its a new hotel and a walk (2 blocks) from Las Olas Blvd where the restaurants are, and it's a quick Uber to the port. There are also some nice hotels on the beachfront that are fairly inexpensive we've stayed at as well. ** I think your issue with pricing is simply that you are going spring break week to one of the biggest spring break locations in the US. Your Hotel/Flight prices are going to be higher than any other time of the year.
  14. Sounds like a good plan. I too am on Liberty Dec 19th and pretty sure it will sail. It should complete its Dry Dock work about the first week of September and head back to the States before final payment. I would assume we would hear something about a test sailing by then. I think they are going to try and make the Country Music cruise (late Sept) happen, so December in my eyes is very likely.
  15. I had Giovannis Table on Allure OTS, by far was the best Filet I've ever had. Amazing food.
  16. UPDATE - I am on the phone with RC right now discussing a couple of items regarding an upcoming cruise and decided to ask about the FCC's for my canceled July 11th, 2021 cruise. He told me they had been issued and gave me all of the information. I told him I had not received anything via email, (yes I checked spam) and they were checking with support to find out if/when they were e-mailed out. So, if you want them, you may want to give them a call. **** latest update - they are emailing them to me now. @VoidoftheSeas
  17. Just curious if you were able to book the galley or bridge tour? I know they are complementary, but could you book it or did you have to wait until on board?
  18. I had the same issue as @VoidoftheSeasin that our July 11th cruise from Galveston on Liberty OTS was canceled. In the e-mail we received it said FCC would be issued by July 2nd. Also, if you want the FCC there isn't a selection to make. I expected them to be a bit behind, so I will wait until next Friday the 9th before I call. Last years FCC's came right around the 30 day mark.
  19. We went on Allure May 2019. It is an amazing ship. As for ships, you can't go wrong with either as they are both Oasis class. Therefore I would pick based on itinerary. The Eastern ( Nassau, St Thomas, San Juan and Labadee) is by far a better itinerary. I've been to all and Nassau, St. Thomas, and San Juan beat out Cozumel Costa Maya by a long shot. IMO.
  20. I literally just received another price alert for my July 2021 cruise 5 minutes after posting above. I just saved another $600 today with the 13% price drop. 7 minutes on the phone with RC. FYI, i track my prices with Cruiseline.com and their Shipmate App.
  21. That is awesome. I always track my cruise price once booked. I actually called RC last month when I saw a price drop that appeared to be lower than my original cost. Sure enough, I reduced my cruise $750. That reduction paid for my drink package! ? And for those wondering, the call took less than 10 minutes.
  22. I understand. Yes, that makes sense. Whatever happens, I can't wait to get back on board.
  23. PIMA, I'm confused by the Galveston comment. I live here north of Houston. Why would it be easier for Mid Westerners to drive to that port than fly? IAH airport, is a 45 min to 1 hour drive to the Galveston port and the Cruise ships will pick up flyers from the airport at No Charge and transfer them down. This seems more logical than driving 10-15 hours.
