  1. Did you end up doing this excursion? Thoughts?
  2. We loved it. The Catamaran crew was absolutely fabulous. They told us that they usually take 40-50 people. Our boat only had 25, which made it a lot less crowded. Plenty of snacks and drinks on board. I was kinda disappointed that you only got to snorkel 1:00-1:20 minutes, but to be honest, that was plenty long enough. Be sure to swim up to the beach and enjoy soft sand.
  3. I would try again the next time your on board, because this statement "free day is ONLY for on-board internet purchases", is wrong. As a Diamond or Diamond+ member you get the free day(s) whether or not you purchase internet, just like Pinnacle gets a free week. OR you get the Price Equivalent OFF any onboard internet purchase. Which means, if you purchase internet pre-cruise at a lower rate, they are not going to give you free days because you would owe them money. Lets say internet pre-cruise is $16.99/day (that's the lowest I've ever seen) for a 7 day cruise. 7 x $16.99 = $119 Lets say internet onboard is $25.99/day for a 7 day cruise. 7 x $25.99 = $182 (minus $25.99 for 2 free days = $130). If you bought pre-cruise, you paid a lower rate. I could be wrong here, but this is my understanding. Like most C&A benefits, pre-cruise discounts are usually better than the onboard discount minus the C&A benefit.
  4. You should have no problem doing what @YellowBrickRoad does. The free day for "Status" has nothing to do with the price you paid for VOOM, discounted or not.
  5. Our January 7-day cruise had the same as yours on Day 2 and Day 6. We did not do the White, because we didnt see it pre-cruise, but I really liked the change. Everyone was dressed nice.
  6. I get it as well, but I wasn't talking about them using someone else's access, it would be her access. If she is using her phone and wants to use her computer, she can log out of her phone and log on with her computer. I rarely get internet when I'm at sea, because, part of a cruise for me is a total disconnect. However, if I do get it, I buy one device and switch between phone and PC when needed. It seems like a hassle, but takes 30 seconds to switch.
  7. St. Thomas is nice, but I would recommend doing an excursion that takes you over to St. Johns. You will not be disappointed. We did the Champagne Catamaran and Snorkel to Honeymoon Beach, and it was awesome.
  8. I think others may have mentioned it, but neither island (and most caribbean islands) do not have snakes. When these islands were settle by the English, Dutch, etc. they brought along the Mongoose, thus, no snakes. St. Kitts we did the volcano hike and I will tell you, if you are not in GREAT shape, do not do it. 70% of those doing the excursion never make it past the base of the mountain. I didn't care too much for the St. Kitts port area. As for St. Lucia, we didn't get off the boat this time, but heard the snorkeling excursions and history tours are great.
  9. We just did St. Thomas in January and had this excursion booked. After hearing about "possible" traffic delays, we decided that we didn't want to have a short day in St. Johns, so, we did the Catamaran Snorkel over to Honeymoon beach. It ended up being the best excursion of the cruise.
  10. I meant to comment on this and forgot, but it sounds like you found out. We did this excursion a few years back and really liked the encounter with the turtles and stingrays. I would recommend this to people of all ages. I was worried about my 6 year old, specially when we got in the water and realized it was over his head. He got in and swam underwater to touch the stingrays!
  11. If everyone in the cabin has internet, why worry about the 2nd device? What I mean is, lets say you want to use your phone and computer. You can switch between those devices by logging out on one and log in on the other, no need to get internet for both.
  12. Thanks Mike. That's kind of what I thought happens (or should happen).
  13. So, back to my question. If I book something on the cruise, do I need to tell them my status so I get the discounted price, or do they check the status in order to get me the price?
  14. I've always wondered how to take advantage of some of the Crown & Anchor status discounts. For example, if someone is Diamond, they get 20% off of spa services. Is the discount taken when you purchase, or do you need to call and have the cost adjusted to get the 20%? Just curious how/when these discounts get applied?
  15. No, this has not changed. They still provide the taxi to and from MC.
  16. Thanks for the information. May get on a grab a drink, may wait! not sure.
  17. Thanks, I was trying to see if rooms were ready "later than normal" with the later departure, but, it doesn't sound like it.
  18. Hi, I am looking at doing the St. John Champagne Cat Sail Beach & Snorkel and was curious which excursion you ended up choosing. If you did the St. John Champagne Cat Sail Beach & Snorkel I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
  19. We are headed on Rhapsody January 12th. We show "Amazing Magens Bay Snorkeling with Sea Turtle" while in St. Thomas, so I assuming yours is the same? If so, Magens Bay.
  20. It's all good, I use the RC app and will be set to "ships time"!!! And of course, the IPhone will update as well when we land.
  21. The wife and I cruise on Rhapsody in 32 days out of San Juan. I'm used to boarding beginning around 10am-ish and rooms being ready around 1:00. During check-in today I noticed the time slots ran from 1:30-2:00, 2:00-2:30,.........6:00-6:30. I guess my question is, with the later boarding times, has anyone experienced this and what times are rooms usually ready? We were planning to board around times when rooms are ready, but also don't want to spend the day with our luggage after checking out of the hotel. Appreciate anyone's thoughts, suggestions.
  22. We've stopped in Old San Juan a few years ago as a Port Stop. Old San Juan is beautiful. We did not rent scooters, and I don't remember there being any around either, but its been a while. It's a great town to walk, and possibly bike. Everything you want to see is within close proximity, so I personally would suggest walking. We are flying in to San Juan January 10th for a cruise on Rhapsody as well and are staying in Old San Juan. As others have said, the terminal is closer to the airport, so an Uber/Taxi will be needed.
  23. I used A2Sea earlier this year for my Alaskan Cruise. We booked regular cabin flights (refundable, as I think they all are via A2S). One leg was United, operated by Air Canada, and one was United. I am a United member and was able to upgrade the tickets prior to final payment. With the Air Canada segment I was not able to. Not sure if this helps, but it is probably up to Delta in your case.
