  1. I wasn’t sure if it’s “an hour before” what you pick. If that’s not the case I’ll be stress free for most of my future cruises. However Bayonne had a heart attack when we approached the Pinnacle line as a group and then wanted set sail passes-though 1/2 of us were with hubby and I (we had split ourselves between 2 cabins) and one was disabled….made disabled go to a long handicapped lane! And 2 of my group accompanied her, then the “nice lady” got her panties out of a twist and let us go -seapass cards unseen. Vancouver we are alone-do whatever accommodations for Pinnacle shouldn’t be an issue.
  2. I stupidly chose to stay awake until 3am to check in for my Alaska cruise when check in opened. (3am isn’t a big stretch I’m normally up til 1 or 2) Check in opened at 3am eastern since it was midnight in Vancouver where we would be sailing from. the website has a message that only the app can be used -which is quite strange-that message has been there ever since we purchased the cruise but it does not appear on my cruise preceding, or following this one so I could not use the website for check in. The app would not allow check in via the button OR the check in under the profile. It kept saying “check in had checked out. I closed the app and reopened it about 3 dozen times. I deleted the app and reinstalled it I shut down my phone and restarted it I even tried to edit the check in for the cruise preceding this one.-same “check in has checked out) others in the FB group were able to check in via the app. and my issue was still the same at 8:30am til present. The only thing I can figure is I’m on a ship in the Bahamas and the app won’t allow this action due to my location. Hubby was home so I didn’t call him at 3 am but when he got up he saw my “message for help” and did the check in. I went back again to try and edit, but still get the message check in checked out. So I’m thinking location usage issue. now, to make it more bizarre-while I could not access check in I did click on “view setsail pass” and they were complete and we were assigned 12:30….I took a screenshot in case that disappeared later and only later check ins showed. After the husband did check in the times he secured showed on the setsail pass (I took a screenshot that too in case it disappears later) wonder why some of us on this sailing had the “use the app to check in” message.l there’s a number of folks on our sailing who don’t use smartphones! anyone else have issues doing check in when on a sailing in the Caribbean?
  3. Didn’t realize you were 3 people. That’s not so bad! The price for 2 cabins will likely kill you, but definitely can’t hurt to look. When I was looking at cabins/sharing I considered deck 8 where at least there was a public restroom nearby if needed!
  4. YouTube has your answer if it’s possible to change I’d consider 2 cabins If you can find a OV balcony with an interior or promenade interior across from you check out pricing to see if it’s comparable, then it’s not 4 people sharing 1 bathroom.

  6. My fix for that-though I rarely have that “problem”-is to hold my lanyard that’s attached to my card in my “spin hand” -it’s a reminder to check that it’s green at the end of the bonus.
  7. Be sure your accounts are linked in the app(can you see their reservation when you open the app?-then you are linked) if you are not linked in the app you need to add them. Click on your person icons n at the top of the app. Click on your “view your sailings “ or “select a different sailing” (it will vary from what I see on mine) Scroll to the bottom “don’t see your cruise” click on “let’s add it now” you’ll need their Last name DOB Stateroom # or reservation number (only need for one person in each cabin$ on check in day Try the check in icon at the bottom of the app If that doesn’t work click on the person icon at the top of the app Scroll down a little and you’ll see the check in button ~try that check In opens at midnight from where the ship sails. Once you get into “check in” on the app all you want to complete is the “arrival time” and you can have the rest of the crew complete their check in at another time.
  8. They do expire. When you log into your account you can see the points along with their expiration date. I also believe they are good for 5 years (can’t check at the moment) but if you have an account I’d recommend you check to see.
  9. I love a Promenade room. They feel more spacious than an interior cabin. They are typically quiet-I’m out late at night-usually in any party taking place on the promenade so I don’t know about promenade room noise from below. Central Park promenades are also very nice. as a person who is selective in regards to cabin location I’d prefer a hand picked promenade over a GTY balcony but I’m also someone who doesn’t sit on a balcony.

I’m currently on Vision, I’m very impressed that the casino has so many new machines (unlike Anthem). anyhow, as I was playing my machine a “pop up” occurred on the account/points section of the machine stating someone’s first name and last initial and their winnings. I’ve never seen this before. Also popping up on the screen was an announcement for a “special slot tournament for St. Patrick’s day -see host for details”. I think this casino can program the messages for machines! I mentioned to the casino host about the name/dollars win and she was mystified. She also said it sounds like it violates privacy. She asked if I saw this again to take a picture and show it to her. When I saw her later and showed the pic she said the slot manager was aware. not for nothing, my table mate at dinner has a very unusual first name, her name popped up as a $10,000 winner. This is information I wouldn’t know unless she chose to share it with me. I wonder how long this “information sharing” will last. My first name and last name initial popped up as a $556 winner. (Smallest win popup) Unfortunately it was not me! Now what if my husband or friend was playing in the casino and thought it was me and I deny it?! Will they think I’m lying? What if it’s a non trusting spouse? Can you imagine the fights?! side note-Allen B is winning lots of money. Should I wait around a dark corner?

  12. Sounds like you’ve exhausted your options. Embrace “the suck” and you’ll endure. I’m sure there will be many happy memories made and a few good laughs(when you look back!). if the teens will be “that miserable” pack a sleeping bag and put one on the balcony-the problem is you’ll have to hear the door open and close, or pack them 2 sleeping bags and don’t pull out the sofa. The bright side-you’re going on a cruise!! If you have a good enough time you can book another cruise-this time with 2 cabins. as others stated-put 1 adult/1 teen in each cabin…then swap keys. Or if you book 2 adults in a cabin the 2 teens must be directly across from or adjoining/connecting cabin,.
  13. If you can see your FreePlay and your OBC on your booking confirmation you have won half the battle! OBC should show on the webisite when you log into cruise planner IF you do not use your OBC prior to your cruise it will show up as a negative balance in your account on the app when you board the ship and connect to ship wifi. -$200 means you have a 200 credit.....when it becomes $200 balance owed it will show without any negative in front of the # Freeplay showing can vary but it will never show in your cruise planner or on your Royal app, it is a casino thing. For me, some cruises it is loaded onto my seapass card and I can see it when I log into the slot machine. Other cruises I do not have my freeplay loaded and I have to go to the CASHIER to ask them to look it up and load it (Do not bother with the host). Bring your booking confirmation showing your freeplay in case there are issues when you are onboard, if there are issues-then you go to the host and hope they can get it fixed. BTW-if you wanted your freeplay as chips you need to go to the cashier and ask, they will give you promotional chips. You can also split your freeplay between chips and slot money. Note: Slot play-a lot of the machines (not all) will not let you cash out the freeplay you download onto it to be able to use it on another machine. SOME machines will put the freeplay back onto your seapss card if you log out. Be aware of not putting large amounts onto a machine that you now decide "I want to change machines" but discover you are stuck there because you can't take your freeplay with you. Always look at the "credit" once you cash out and see if you left freeplay on the machine.

  15. I've seen the cakes in La Patisserie on Anthem for sale. Never tried to order one. My daughter just had the birthday package on Anthem (thank you Royal for the BS with the BF sales and buying her a chocolate cake and decorations as an apology!). I'm not a huge cake fan, but it was OK (from me that's like a rave?). It seemed the other 7 people enjoyed it-even my husband who is a vanilla cake guy. Do yourself a favor, pack your own cake plates and forks, or get them from Windjammer, The cake was delivered with 2 plates and 2 fork sets which was not enough for us

You have a possibility but: The ship must dock on time You would have to be one of the first to walk off your luggage Have transportation lined up Its about 45 minutes to the airport assuming all things align. Personally I’d book a flight that’s later.
  17. I called today Re: my August Symphony and moved my GTY neighborhood balcony which was assigned as a Central Park Balcony to a Boardwalk balcony. Ive done both before and like each category are but I prefer a lower deck and more aft . They did this with no issue. I did try to move to an ocean view balcony from my assigned Central Park balcony (it was a $12 difference between them on the website) but my original booking was GTY neighborhood balcony so it would have cost me $900 to move to an ocean view balcony as they went by the original booking category for the change. Didn’t hurt to try!

  19. This thread spurred me to check my GTY booking. My Symphony in August has already assigned my GTY neighborhood balcony to a Central Park balcony. It was a casino comp if that makes a difference ,IDK.

I tried this once and was told I’d have to reprice-I called 3 times and received the same answer and gave up. keep in mind that holidays were on the excluded list last year I don’t know if that impacts applying trade in value. The trade in value of the prime cruise is $500.

  22. The husband has his annual prime cruise booked out of Bayonne. It’s not an issue. It’s good anywhere they sail, 7 day or less cruise, with exceptions such as ship must be out over a year and last year most ships were excluded during summer months. (Restrictions subject to change this year)
