Travel/Health insurance advice.
Pattycruise replied to BigKarl's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
NY residents cannot get the Royal Caribbean policy. Instead they refer us to Aon. Personally I have my annual travel policy from Allianz. There are things Allianz (and other companies) will not cover for NYer like they do for others who reside in other states. It’s in the fine print. Covid is not covered by Allianz for NYer. It had to do with the archaic insurance commission in NY, allegedly it reviews things to protect us, however by the time they get around to this…… -
Sweet 16 Birthday for my twin girls
Pattycruise replied to Daniellecsb's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
You can ask the waiter to celebrate their birthday at dinner. Usually a small number of servers will present lit candles on dessert and sing. if you order the birthday cake to the cabin pack some extra paper plates, or grab from the buffet. When we did the birthday cake thing they gave us 2 plates, I was glad I packed paper plates, forks and a knife! -

Brining additional soda onboard

Pack it in separate bags. -
As a family that sailed as 5 or 6 I feel your pain. yes, if there is room in your category you can move cabins once assigned. cabins may only hold 3-2 or at most 4, very rarely do cabins hold 5. there ARE cabins that hold 5 or 6, not in all ships-so you may want to ask your travel agent or royal Caribbean if booking with them, what that price is. Keep in mind you only get 1 bathroom with one cabin. ages of the kids? Can they be trusted to not screw things up if they are alone in a cabin? It’s not supposed to happen that under 18 are alone in a cabin without an adult. Otherwise you need to be directly across from or adjacent to their cabin. I’ll admit we booked 2 cabins down the hall, 1 adult in each, and we got extra keys for each other, adult into one cabin, kids in the other BUT you run risks if things go bad in the room and they pull footage and see you don’t sleep/supervise that cabin. have you looked at other configurations of cabins to cut your costs? One sailing we had a balcony and the kids had promenade interiors. I did not want my youngins with a balcony-I pictured a fight and shoes of other personal items going overboard. Also keep in mind if you do book 2 cabins and unofficially move yourselves into one cabin that your stateroom attendant is only tipped on the original occupancy of your cabin. You might consider tipping additional as he/she would be cleaning up after 5.

Crown and Anchor Benefits for Children
Pattycruise replied to AndrewOfTheSeas's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Is your son in a separate household? Otherwise if his status is due to your spouse residing in the same household you should also become Diamond. I was the “person doing most sailing” in my household and my spouse is now Pinnacle despite him not having enough points to even be D+ on his own. you need to contact crown and anchor to have yourself put in a relationship with your spouse (if that’s the case) crown and anchor 1 (800) 526-9723 -
Brining additional soda onboard
Pattycruise replied to Cardinal Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I sail out of NJ a lot. Only once they asked my don to open his carry on to show his soda wasn’t beer. I guess that’s what happens when you are young. Otherwise I’ve never seen matching luggage to people. Security is more interested in prohibited items. -
Kimono Cover Up - Acceptable?
Pattycruise replied to CruiserNewbie's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. Dress code seems to be more relaxed. Maybe have a back up item if staff seems to have a heart attack. I recall seeing a young lady in a bikini top being asked to leave the dining room, before she got to her seat. She must have appealed to someone because 20 minutes later she walked in and sat down, -
Decent sale going on reprice savings
Pattycruise replied to Shari's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Try early morning or late night or, accidentally press “new booking” and see if that works. -
I’ve changed once onboard, it’s subject to availability. That was my experience. Very easy to do, as soon as you board visit Chops or wherever they are booking specialty dining to make your change

Brining additional soda onboard
Pattycruise replied to Cardinal Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Are you traveling with more than one person, security doesn’t seem to check cabin #’s when boarding-just that it’s not exceeding limits and isn’t beer. That said I’ve seen people come back with sealed water. I’ve not noticed soda nor have I tried. -
I’m currently on Liberty and having had my mom on a cruise ship, and she had difficulty with the shower in a regular non handicapped shower I went and took a pic of the showers in the fitness area, Deck 11 forward. it may be easier for her here the left side is the handicap shower, it has a fold down seat. The right is a standard shower.

No experience but I personally wouldn’t trust that the item will make it to your cabin without being damaged. I'd carry it onboard, it could be possible-depending on type of walker, that the person in the wheelchair hold it while it rolls next to them. Have the label on it, find a location you are comfortable to leave it and then go back when the cabin is open go get it.

Royal Cancelled My Reservation for no reason

[email protected] thats the CEO, his staff should respond. Your TA should be handling this but personally I’d send an email, include dates/times and who was on the call and express your dismay and request this be rectified immediately. -
Vegetarian meals on Vision of the Seas
Pattycruise replied to Phil the pill.'s topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Maybe say allergic to mushrooms and seafood? They’ll bring her the next days menu for her to select her meal. another idea, I’ve pulled hard boiled eggs off the breakfast buffet to bring to dinner and I add them to my salad. (I keep them on ice in my yeti cup) Maybe if she finds something at the buffet bring it in. she can also ask for any sides on any of the menu items to be on her dinner plate. -
You typically get a better price in the cruise planner than purchasing onboard. The price includes your meal and gratuity and tax(if not included in the first price it will add it when you check out). You can typically order multiple appetizers too. Drinks are not included. You can bring one in or buy one there or use any drink package you might have there.

Icon Stateroom and Concierge questions
Pattycruise replied to BRETTB's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
You enter, bring a sweater or other clothing item to save seats. If anyone asks they are in the bathroom, went to fetch something from the cabin or went to get a drink (it helps if they enter holding that drink.) of course check with the concierge but if there is a “box office” when you board go there first-the concierge may not be working yet. -
Zenith cost/speed vs. Pinnacle
Pattycruise replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Used google to find my answers 2 pts per night for inside or oceanview 3 pts per night for Veranda/infinite V 5 pts per night for concierge/aqua class 8 pts per night Sky suite/Aqua sky, sunset sky and magic carpet 12 pts per night celebrity, signature, sunset, horizon, and royale suite 18 pts per night for reflections, penthouse and edge solo is double points in any category to reach zenith (3,000 pts) 215 7 nt cruises interior:ocean view 143 7 nt cruises veranda 86 7 nt cruises concierge/aqua 54 7 nt cruises sky suite etc. 36 7 nt cruises celebrity, signature etc 24 7 nt cruises reflections, penthouse, edge solo would divide those numbers in half seems that it’s quicker for 2 or more to earn on Royal until you do the 36 cruises in Celebrity celebrity, signature etc. or above class -
Zenith cost/speed vs. Pinnacle
Pattycruise replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thank you! -
I am curios as to how point accumulation works for Celebrity. I am familiar with Royal Shared cabin: 1 pt per night in a balcony or below, 2 pts per night in a JS or above. Solo traveler: 2 pts per night in a cabin designed for 2 in a balcony or below, 3 pts per night in a JS or above. How does celebrity calculate their points? Royal to reach Pinnacle (700 points)you’d need : 100 7 night cruises in a shared balcony or below 50 7 night cruises in a shared JS or above Solo: 50 7 night cruises balcony or below in a cabin designed for 2 Solo 34 cruises in a JS or above I picked 7 night as the “simplest” analysis. Of course there are longer and shorter cruises that can go in the mix. So how does Celebrity work? 3,000 points to Zenith seems huge. oops, meant to post in discussion @SpeedNoodles can you move this? Thank you!

I can’t imagine someone saying or implying that and I was raised in the NYC metropolitan area. I don’t even know anyone who has that mindset. How does one even bring that up in a situation to make such a ridiculous statement!? There are always some people who ruin it for everyone else.

Now that Crown and Anchor matches Celebrity tier what are the odds they’ll match casino levels next?
