I am on it now with what they claim is record capacity. I think close to 9500 including crew. Some area are congested but they have done a great job scattering things around and improving the flow. The new elevator systems helps, and added staircases all around also moves traffic.

Icon Stateroom and Concierge questions
BRETTB replied to BRETTB's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thank you everyone for your responses. The bathroom night light on Icon is great for adults like me with a baby bladder And the Box Office was the perfect place to get my reservations sorted out. They were open as soon as we boarded at 11am. We went straight there and they got us seats for everything except, strangely, the headliner show but we will just how up early for that. -

Icon Stateroom and Concierge questions

Thank you, I should have clarified. The person in the Diamond Lounge. Maybe I shouldn’t be calling them a concierge as that assumes I am in a suite which I am not. -

1. Does anyone know if Icon has night lights in the bathrooms like we see on the Oasis class? 2. I am on Icon departing tomorrow, and for some reason completely flaked on booking shows ahead of time. I am usually really good about this. I was able to get “one” seat for most of the shows but don’t have seats for my wife and daughter. Just in case anyone is browning these message boards on a Friday night… What power does the worker/Concierge’s in the Diamond Lounge have to add people to booked shows? We are all Diamond Plus and purchased Key- not sure if those help- and I would be happy to slip him/her a $50 (unless that is offensively low, or just offensive) to see if they can help. What are my odds here?

Thank you @Kelseylovestocruise. I was always booked solo in the room. I have reached out to guest relations via email [email protected]. I hope this is the correct address. I am curious if others have had issues being issues the correct amount of points. Perhaps I should be keeping a closer eye on these.

Two weeks ago I traveled solo on Freedom, and unless I don’t understand the program problem I should have earned double the points (8 points, for a four night stay). I typically haven’t paid much attention to my points level, but as I should reach Diamond Plus on my cruise next week I logged in to check. Has anyone else had an issue earning the proper number of points (or am I mistaken with this)? Unrelated, but I haven’t received the email survey yet and I am typically diligent about adding the names of workers who provided exception service. I recall receiving those pretty soon after the cruise in the past.

Thanks SteverK. It is odd as I have been going back to cruise.com (where I typically booked my cruises) and there were no inside rooms, there some popped up (although true inside, not promenade view). It seems like a few rooms are coming and going throughout the day which is odd so close to sailing and also they seem to disappear quickly. It sure would be cool if the system would allow to to say these are the room types I want and it would grab on if it comes online Wish me luck refreshing. I may resort to a true inside room, I have just never had one of those before and not sure I want one.

Great information. Any other tips on last minute booking? I (naively) thought the rates would drop within a week or two of the cruise, but with demand so high maybe that's not the case. I am looking for a room on Freedom or Liberty Jan 8-11, traveling alone, and don't want a true inside room but I do enjoy the inside room with a promenade view. Those seem to be sold out. Since I am within 8 days I also assume anyone who was going to cancel must have done so by now, meaning it's unlikely new inventory will pop up in the next day or two. $1300 was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I get that traveling alone I need to pay a higher rate. One more addition- I tend to avoid the low decks which seems to bump me into an even higher price category

I did a 4 Day cruise on liberty about a week ago, and since it was short no lobster night. I was open to giving the main dining room options a fair shake- and found it okay most nights but really struggled on Caribbean night. I have copies of all the menus (again, just 4 nights) and not sure if there is someplace here to post or if that’s a violation but happy to share. I heard from some of the works others found the Caribbean night especially challenging. We skipped beef tenderloin night which is one of my favorites to have a dinner to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday at Giovannis. I was also surprised Giovannis on Liberty was a completely difference experience from Giovannis on Wonder which we have been on twice. I guess one is regular Giovannis and on other Giovanni’s “table” or something like that. I don’t know but the food was good, just now where near as good as Wonder. It challenging to go on any boat after enjoying all the amazing change to Wonder, but we do have Icon booked just 11 months away

UPDATE- After refreshing the page a bunch of other comments loaded which seem to support the argument this may not be a good card to get, even if I only wanted to use it for cruises. BTW I always pay off every credit card monthly so interest is not a factor for me. Original Post: I have been on RCCL 23 times (typically 1-2 a year), and never considered the credit card until now after booking a 10k room on Icon. That would be a good chunk of points. The card details outline how many points you get for Royal purchases, but do any of you know if that would apply if I book through a travel agent? I think technically the charge comes from my agent and not Royal, and don’t want to sign up if that is the case since I never booked directly with Royal.

Does anyone know if Liberty as adopted the new menu’s yet?

Last time I stayed in a suite (either Owners or Grand Suite) I had the Coca Cola cups in the room which I had not purchased separately. I thought it was included with suites, but I don’t see that listed as a perk (although I think I can get them in the diamond lounge as a diamond member). Did I just get lucky or is this a perk that isn’t listed?
