  1. We did the RC Shuttle ($35/pp) in February to FLL and car seats were not required.  We will not do that again from Port Everglades, though.  All of the Shuttle guests going to MIA and FLL were released from the ship at the same time and there was only one woman on the sidewalk with a printed list of all 5 buses worth of passengers on it. There was no designated place to check in for the shuttles and it was just her alone on the sidewalk with 100's of us. It was chaotic. Some people had tickets for the shuttle, some of us didn't. There was just no system in place for it.

  2. Hey y'all!

I am starting the VERY early planning for an Alaska Cruise in June 2024.  I am a Planner at Heart and I love the process of investigating all my options for travel experiences...then I book it and move on to the next destination  My husband is the "Tell Me When/Where and I am There" type.  Does anyone have a idea of how soon RCL may publish those sailings? I am hoping June-Sept of this year?  This will be our 35th Wedding Anniversary trip and I want to be as educated as possible when I can jump on the booking.  I know some things may change from year to year (ships, excursions, etc..), but I am so excited about this trip!  Thank you for any info you can share!

  3. I LOVE road trips, but I am very familiar with the exits between ATL and Orlando,  so it's easy for me! Our next cruise is Dec 13th out of Miami. I NEED a vacation....60+ hour weeks for 7 months has been a blessing and a curse. We have jobs and are SO grateful for that.  BUT,  my husband and I are exhausted.  ! We need a vacation and if it can't happen on a ship we are going camping in the woods somewhere so no one can get at us and we can recharge!  We would LOVE to do it at sea, but if that isn't possible, we will find a way!

  4. Thanks for the encouragement.  I know there is a 50/50 chance of actually getting to go but I have this fear of being randomly selected as a reservation that gets canceled to thin out the crowds....NO info to lead to this thought process, just my brain being overly active since I still show "you owe have no balance due" on my Planner.

  5. My daughters & I are supposed to be on Indy for a June 22nd cruise....it is very stressful waiting to see if we get canceled because I don't want to book Coco Cay excursions just for them to have to refund me, but I also don't want them to sell out. I do see a few items that show sold out and others are getting more expensive, so I hope we get to go, but realistically I just don't know how RCL would do it unless we ditch the Nassau stop and do two private island stops.

  6. AJK, My family camps A LOT! The girls and I pitch tents but my DH will not, so we also own a 28' bumper pull.

I know that Port Canaveral and Port of Miami both have "over sized" vehicle parking. Our truck is 23' from bumper to bumper and 6'8" tall. We were encouraged and able to park in the regular lot @ Port Canaveral. Port of MIami says any vehicle over 20' in length must be parked in over sized parking for an additional fee of $22/day and all vehicles must be parked head first.

Idk how tall your unit is, but I hope this gives you some usable info.

I would love to go full time! What adventures you will have!

  7. We are having the same debate in our house. I love road trips, but my DH is not excited about the drive from Atlanta to Miami. I am not excited about luggage fees on airlines but I love the idea of being in our Departure location in just a couple of hours. It may just come down to cost and airline/hotel options. I wonder if i can pack an 8 night cruise into a single carry on per person???
