  1. The other benefit is a reduced deposit. Generally, I would not wait to book until I am on the ship. As you alluded to, prices and/or availability can change quickly.
  2. As Jazz said, if you board early you will likely still get to make reservations for restaurants, you just might not always get your desired time. That is the trade-off for getting heavily discounted dining prices. There will be people that have made reservation that cancel and/or no-show. If you catch it right you may be able to get those experiences still. For shows, they will open seating for those without a reservation 15 minutes before showtime. Most venues will not 'sell out', but for smaller venues you should have no problem if you arrive early enough. Generally, the best advice is to manage your expectations, realize that not everything is going to go as planned. You will have still have a great vacation
  3. Shoot, some rooms can accommodate 5+. It’s a party!
  4. The calendar month before and/or 30 days out does not seem to be a hard and fast rule, currently. Things are still very much in flux - people have reported contacting Royal about this and their response was just to keep checking the app/website daily to see if reservations are available. Now to your actual question - you will still be able to see nearly every show without a reservation. 15 minutes before the show begins, they will open seating to those without a reservation. As you can imagine, many people will make a reservation and not show. The exception is something in a venue like The Attic, where seating is limited. You may need to arrive well in advance to get a seat without a reservation for those shows.
  5. The good news is that Royal Caribbean does a GREAT job accommodating cruisers and families living with autism; they even have a specific program for it - https://www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/accessible-cruising/autism-friendly-ships However, as others have mentioned, those 18 and older do not have access to teen areas.
  6. Let’s go! He picked an incredible graduation gift. Everything the ship has to offer continues to blow me away, and we haven’t even seen it all yet! We went ahead and booked 3-night dining; excited to find out about the new venues. Funny you mentioned it - as consolation for being in an interior room, my wife is using that against me to book some excursions . But they’ll be fun!
  7. Total speculation, but I'm guessing these are much easier to produce and can prevent a lot of the backlogging.
  8. No trouble here - $62.94 before tip for an 8:00am trip last July. We prefer that to something like GoPort because we're on our own schedule. GoPort is great if you don't mind arriving later, tho.
  9. AFAIK only Quantum and Oasis class are doing pre-cruise reservations, so Brilliance is not included.
  10. Robes are a benefit for Crown & Anchor Platinum and up. Of course you could always ask for one - worst they could say is no - but I wouldn't count on getting one.
  11. Third footnote - https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf
  12. Can't speak to it being a home port, but RC is still making stops in San Juan. May be less frequent than in the past, but you can see the schedule here - https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports/san-juan-port-39?month=2023-02#schedule
  13. Sounds like a great reason to book another cruise!
  14. Luckily you don't have very far to go! https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/forum/12-celebrity-silversea/
  15. YMMV, but most likely they will serve you the virgin drink that's included with your drink package and then you will pay extra for a shot of alcohol ($10-$14). Your personal experience my very depending on the bartender and how well you tip.

  17. How can Matt keep getting away with this?!
  18. That's a good shout - you will know what the menus are ahead of time, so if that is one of the biggest worries you can front load all of that before the cruise.
  19. I have seen mentions of an International Ambassador on ships that can help with language interpretation, but I'm not sure if this is something that is on every ship. Technology was going to be my best suggestion, but you already alluded to that maybe not being an option. I would be willing to bet there would be a Korean speaker in the dining room - RC does a good job of accommodating you as best they can, so I think it would be worth calling to put that request in if it is possible. I would anticipate some struggles at times, but I would not expect anyone to be rude. As far as customs go, all of my recent experiences have been simply walking through facial recognition. I'm sure that's not the experience for everyone, tho.
  20. FWIW I think RC is very aware of the current quality issues, I just don't know how much they can do about it besides overhauling their entire hiring structure. Quality of the food itself could partly due to what is available to them in the supply chain, but I think a larger reason is the inexperience/lack of staff. That will hopefully be fixed (or at least improve) over time.
