  1. Does this include the gratuity or will that be charged?
  2. LMAO too right you are @DoomSlayer...but no one in texas actually inserts the hyphen and in fact I dont think its even on their billboards like that but I could be wrong and just dont see it... @12thman When I fly to/from IAH - it means I am flying United. When I fly Hobby its SWA...definitely other airlines fly to both but those are the only two I use and both those airlines utilize Houston as a hub at those given airports.
  3. Are you flying into bush (IAH) or Hobby? Hobby is much closer to galveston (by an hr) and already further south of downtown by 15 mins (if there's no traffic but could take 30+ if there is traffic). If your sole purpose is to just be rested prior to your cruise then it would probably be best to get a hotel south of Hobby NEAR galveston but not necessarily in galveston (plenty of options) from clear lake to league city and even into Galveston itself. @bobroo brings up some good points and one thing I would suggest is some Texas BBQ usually for lunch as many places open around 11 am and sell til they run out of items. Also its spelled Bucee's
  4. I live in Houston and just checked it - it was a higher than usual price and said $150, I changed the date and it said $82; you can reserve a ride on uber up to a month in advance, I recommend doing that to minimize the wait time.
  5. As long as I can still get Dr Pepper (freestyle or not) I will be fine
  6. So is this the workaround to only getting one entree served at a time in MDR
  7. So I see two options on my CP; the more expensive one includes drinks - the Deluxe Beach Break. The interesting thing about booking through RC is that its basically the same price as the Playa Mia website although through RC it says you depart around 11 (even though we arrive at 7 am) and the beach resort opens at 9 am...so I am leaning on booking directly as they (playa mia) offer a free bus between the port and the resort.
  8. Wow good to know that this is your recommendation because thats what I came up with prior to seeing this I am planning on using the native choice for the tour of the ruins - how much would you recommend to spend at the ruins and tips for the staff for this tour?
  9. Yes!!! Ever since I have booked it I have got very into it and been on this message board since I found it...now since we havent even cruised yet I have not booked another one BUT I have looked many times!! I also been watching alot of youtube videos and started listening to some podcasts about cruising as well....
  10. WOW...I am very sad to hear this - I was unaware and had purchased the soda/internet package with the hopes of making some wild drink combos with the machine. I dont sail til Oct so fingers crossed they get em in before then.
  11. Great Blog...what kinda camera do you have? The pics are absolutely amazing!! I think this amazing blog convinced me to sail on a smaller ship and visit these beautiful places!
  12. I grew up in SoCal so its a nostalgic spot for me...andyeah the complaint here is its nothing special but they do use quality fresh ingredients and its made to order so IMHO its better than traditional fast food. I get the triple double (3 patties and 2 cheese) with grilled onions, extra toasted bun and no lettuce - in my younger days I would also get animal style fries but I cant eat that much anymore...
  13. I was not but maybe you have already gone there?
